Psalm 14 ~ Psalm 14

1 K i te tino kaiwhakatangi. Na Rawiri. Kua ki te wairangi i tona ngakau, Kahore he Atua. Kua pirau ratou, he whakahouhou a ratou mahi, kahore tetahi e mahi ana i te pai.

The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable deeds; there is none that does good or right.

2 I titiro iho a Ihowa i te rangi ki nga tama a te tangata, kia kite me kahore tetahi e mahara ana, e rapu ana i te Atua.

The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men to see if there were any who understood, dealt wisely, and sought after God, inquiring for and of Him and requiring Him.

3 K ua peka ke ratou katoa kua pirau tahi: kahore tetahi e mahi ana i te pai, kohore kia kotahi.

They are all gone aside, they have all together become filthy; there is none that does good or right, no, not one.

4 E kore ranei e mohio nga kaimahi katoa o te kino? e kai nei i toku iwi, me te mea e kai taro ana, a kahore e karanga ki a Ihowa.

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread and who do not call on the Lord?

5 N a, i reira ratou e tuiri noa ana: kei roto hoki te Atua i te whakatupuranga o te hunga tika.

There they shall be in great fear, for God is with the generation of the righteous (those upright and in right standing with Him).

6 M einga ana e koutou te whakaaro o te hunga iti hei whakama, no te mea ko Ihowa tona piringa.

You would put to shame and confound the plans of the poor and patient, but the Lord is his safe refuge.

7 A ue, me i puta mai te whakaoranga o Iharaira i Hiona! Kia whakahokia e Ihowa tana iwi i te whakarau, ka whakamanamana a Hakopa, ka hari a Iharaira.

Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When the Lord shall restore the fortunes of His people, then Jacob shall rejoice and Israel shall be glad.
