1 A nd Zophar the Naamathite answereth and saith: --

拿 玛 人 琐 法 回 答 说 ：

2 T herefore my thoughts cause me to answer, And because of my sensations in me.

我 心 中 急 躁 ， 所 以 我 的 思 念 叫 我 回 答 。

3 T he chastisement of my shame I hear, And the spirit of mine understanding Doth cause me to answer:

我 已 听 见 那 羞 辱 我 ， 责 备 我 的 话 ； 我 的 悟 性 叫 我 回 答 。

4 T his hast thou known from antiquity? Since the placing of man on earth?

你 岂 不 知 亘 古 以 来 ， 自 从 人 生 在 地 ，

5 T hat the singing of the wicked short, And the joy of the profane for a moment,

恶 人 夸 胜 是 暂 时 的 ， 不 敬 虔 人 的 喜 乐 不 过 转 眼 之 间 麽 ？

6 T hough his excellency go up to the heavens, And his head against a cloud he strike --

他 的 尊 荣 虽 达 到 天 上 ， 头 虽 顶 到 云 中 ，

7 A s his own dung for ever he doth perish, His beholders say: `Where he?'

他 终 必 灭 亡 ， 像 自 己 的 粪 一 样 ； 素 来 见 他 的 人 要 说 ： 他 在 哪 里 呢 ？

8 A s a dream he fleeth, and they find him not, And he is driven away as a vision of the night,

他 必 飞 去 如 梦 ， 不 再 寻 见 ， 速 被 赶 去 ， 如 夜 间 的 异 象 。

9 T he eye hath not seen him, and addeth not. And not again doth his place behold him.

亲 眼 见 过 他 的 ， 必 不 再 见 他 ； 他 的 本 处 也 再 见 不 着 他 。

10 H is sons do the poor oppress, And his hands give back his wealth.

他 的 儿 女 要 求 穷 人 的 恩 ； 他 的 手 要 赔 还 不 义 之 财 。

11 H is bones have been full of his youth, And with him on the dust it lieth down.

他 的 骨 头 虽 然 有 青 年 之 力 ， 却 要 和 他 一 同 躺 卧 在 尘 土 中 。

12 T hough he doth sweeten evil in his mouth, Doth hide it under his tongue,

他 口 内 虽 以 恶 为 甘 甜 ， 藏 在 舌 头 底 下 ，

13 H ath pity on it, and doth not forsake it, And keep it back in the midst of his palate,

爱 恋 不 舍 ， 含 在 口 中 ；

14 H is food in his bowels is turned, The bitterness of asps in his heart.

他 的 食 物 在 肚 里 却 要 化 为 酸 ， 在 他 里 面 成 为 虺 蛇 的 恶 毒 。

15 W ealth he hath swallowed, and doth vomit it. From his belly God driveth it out.

他 吞 了 财 宝 ， 还 要 吐 出 ； 神 要 从 他 腹 中 掏 出 来 。

16 G all of asps he sucketh, Slay him doth the tongue of a viper.

他 必 吸 饮 虺 蛇 的 毒 气 ； 蝮 蛇 的 舌 头 也 必 杀 他 。

17 H e looketh not on rivulets, Flowing of brooks of honey and butter.

流 奶 与 蜜 之 河 ， 他 不 得 再 见 。

18 H e is giving back he laboured for, And doth not consume; As a bulwark his exchange, and he exults not.

他 劳 碌 得 来 的 要 赔 还 ， 不 得 享 用 （ 原 文 是 吞 下 ） ； 不 能 照 所 得 的 财 货 欢 乐 。

19 F or he oppressed -- he forsook the poor, A house he hath taken violently away, And he doth not build it.

他 欺 压 穷 人 ， 且 又 离 弃 ； 强 取 非 自 己 所 盖 的 房 屋 （ 或 译 ： 强 取 房 屋 不 得 再 建 造 ） 。

20 F or he hath not known ease in his belly. With his desirable thing he delivereth not himself.

他 因 贪 而 无 厌 ， 所 喜 悦 的 连 一 样 也 不 能 保 守 。

21 T here is not a remnant to his food, Therefore his good doth not stay.

其 馀 的 没 有 一 样 他 不 吞 灭 ， 所 以 他 的 福 乐 不 能 长 久 。

22 I n the fulness of his sufficiency he is straitened. Every perverse hand doth meet him.

他 在 满 足 有 馀 的 时 候 ， 必 到 狭 窄 的 地 步 ； 凡 受 苦 楚 的 人 都 必 加 手 在 他 身 上 。

23 I t cometh to pass, at the filling of his belly, He sendeth forth against him The fierceness of His anger, Yea, He raineth on him in his eating.

他 正 要 充 满 肚 腹 的 时 候 ， 神 必 将 猛 烈 的 忿 怒 降 在 他 身 上 ； 正 在 他 吃 饭 的 时 候 ， 要 将 这 忿 怒 像 雨 降 在 他 身 上 。

24 H e fleeth from an iron weapon, Pass through him doth a bow of brass.

他 要 躲 避 铁 器 ； 铜 弓 的 箭 要 将 他 射 透 。

25 O ne hath drawn, And it cometh out from the body, And a glittering weapon from his gall proceedeth. On him terrors.

他 把 箭 一 抽 ， 就 从 他 身 上 出 来 ； 发 光 的 箭 头 从 他 胆 中 出 来 ， 有 惊 惶 临 在 他 身 上 。

26 A ll darkness is hid for his treasures, Consume him doth a fire not blown, Broken is the remnant in his tent.

他 的 财 宝 归 於 黑 暗 ； 人 所 不 吹 的 火 要 把 他 烧 灭 ， 要 把 他 帐 棚 中 所 剩 下 的 烧 毁 。

27 R eveal do the heavens his iniquity, And earth is raising itself against him.

天 要 显 明 他 的 罪 孽 ； 地 要 兴 起 攻 击 他 。

28 R emove doth the increase of his house, Poured forth in a day of His anger.

他 的 家 产 必 然 过 去 ； 神 发 怒 的 日 子 ， 他 的 货 物 都 要 消 灭 。

29 T his the portion of a wicked man from God. And an inheritance appointed him by God.

这 是 恶 人 从 神 所 得 的 分 ， 是 神 为 他 所 定 的 产 业 。
