1 S imeon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who did obtain a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ:

作 耶 稣 基 督 仆 人 和 使 徒 的 西 门 。 彼 得 写 信 给 那 因 我 们 的 神 和 （ 有 古 卷 没 有 和 字 ） 救 主 耶 稣 基 督 之 义 ， 与 我 们 同 得 一 样 宝 贵 信 心 的 人 。

2 G race to you, and peace be multiplied in the acknowledgement of God and of Jesus our Lord!

愿 恩 惠 、 平 安 ， 因 你 们 认 识 神 和 我 们 主 耶 稣 ， 多 多 的 加 给 你 们 。

3 A s all things to us His divine power (the things pertaining unto life and piety) hath given, through the acknowledgement of him who did call us through glory and worthiness,

神 的 神 能 已 将 一 切 关 乎 生 命 和 虔 敬 的 事 赐 给 我 们 ， 皆 因 我 们 认 识 那 用 自 己 荣 耀 和 美 德 召 我 们 的 主 。

4 t hrough which to us the most great and precious promises have been given, that through these ye may become partakers of a divine nature, having escaped from the corruption in the world in desires.

因 此 ， 他 已 将 又 宝 贵 又 极 大 的 应 许 赐 给 我 们 ， 叫 我 们 既 脱 离 世 上 从 情 欲 来 的 败 坏 ， 就 得 与 神 的 性 情 有 分 。

5 A nd this same also -- all diligence having brought in besides, superadd in your faith the worthiness, and in the worthiness the knowledge,

正 因 这 缘 故 ， 你 们 要 分 外 地 殷 勤 ； 有 了 信 心 ， 又 要 加 上 德 行 ； 有 了 德 行 ， 又 要 加 上 知 识 ；

6 a nd in the knowledge the temperance, and in the temperance the endurance, and in the endurance the piety,

有 了 知 识 ， 又 要 加 上 节 制 ； 有 了 节 制 ， 又 要 加 上 忍 耐 ； 有 了 忍 耐 ， 又 要 加 上 虔 敬 ；

7 a nd in the piety the brotherly kindness, and in the brotherly kindness the love;

有 了 虔 敬 ， 又 要 加 上 爱 弟 兄 的 心 ； 有 了 爱 弟 兄 的 心 ， 又 要 加 上 爱 众 人 的 心 ；

8 f or these things being to you and abounding, do make neither inert nor unfruitful in regard to the acknowledging of our Lord Jesus Christ,

你 们 若 充 充 足 足 的 有 这 几 样 ， 就 必 使 你 们 在 认 识 我 们 的 主 耶 稣 基 督 上 不 至 於 ? 懒 不 结 果 子 了 。

9 f or he with whom these things are not present is blind, dim-sighted, having become forgetful of the cleansing of his old sins;

人 若 没 有 这 几 样 ， 就 是 眼 瞎 ， 只 看 见 近 处 的 ， 忘 了 他 旧 日 的 罪 已 经 得 了 洁 净 。

10 w herefore, the rather, brethren, be diligent to make stedfast your calling and choice, for these things doing, ye may never stumble,

所 以 弟 兄 们 ， 应 当 更 加 殷 勤 ， 使 你 们 所 蒙 的 恩 召 和 拣 选 坚 定 不 移 。 你 们 若 行 这 几 样 ， 就 永 不 失 脚 。

11 f or so, richly shall be superadded to you the entrance into the age-during reign of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

这 样 ， 必 叫 你 们 丰 丰 富 富 的 得 以 进 入 我 们 主 ─ 救 主 耶 稣 基 督 永 远 的 国 。

12 W herefore, I will not be careless always to remind you concerning these things, though, having known them, and having been established in the present truth,

你 们 虽 然 晓 得 这 些 事 ， 并 且 在 你 们 已 有 的 真 道 上 坚 固 ， 我 却 要 将 这 些 事 常 常 提 醒 你 们 。

13 a nd I think right, so long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up in reminding,

我 以 为 应 当 趁 我 还 在 这 帐 棚 的 时 候 提 醒 你 们 ， 激 发 你 们 。

14 h aving known that soon is the laying aside of my tabernacle, even as also our Lord Jesus Christ did shew to me,

因 为 知 道 我 脱 离 这 帐 棚 的 时 候 快 到 了 ， 正 如 我 们 主 耶 稣 基 督 所 指 示 我 的 。

15 a nd I will be diligent that also at every time ye have, after my outgoing, power to make to yourselves the remembrance of these things.

并 且 ， 我 要 尽 心 竭 力 ， 使 你 们 在 我 去 世 以 後 时 常 记 念 这 些 事 。

16 F or, skilfully devised fables not having followed out, we did make known to you the power and presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, but eye-witnesses having become of his majesty --

我 们 从 前 将 我 们 主 耶 稣 基 督 的 大 能 和 他 降 临 的 事 告 诉 你 们 ， 并 不 是 随 从 乖 巧 捏 造 的 虚 言 ， 乃 是 亲 眼 见 过 他 的 威 荣 。

17 f or having received from God the Father honour and glory, such a voice being borne to him by the excellent glory: `This is My Son -- the beloved, in whom I was well pleased;'

他 从 父 神 得 尊 贵 荣 耀 的 时 候 ， 从 极 大 荣 光 之 中 有 声 音 出 来 ， 向 他 说 ： 「 这 是 我 的 爱 子 ， 我 所 喜 悦 的 。 」

18 a nd this voice we -- we did hear, out of heaven borne, being with him in the holy mount.

我 们 同 他 在 圣 山 的 时 候 ， 亲 自 听 见 这 声 音 从 天 上 出 来 。

19 A nd we have more firm the prophetic word, to which we do well giving heed, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, till day may dawn, and a morning star may arise -- in your hearts;

我 们 并 有 先 知 更 确 的 预 言 ， 如 同 灯 照 在 暗 处 。 你 们 在 这 预 言 上 留 意 ， 直 等 到 天 发 亮 ， 晨 星 在 你 们 心 里 出 现 的 时 候 ， 才 是 好 的 。

20 t his first knowing, that no prophecy of the Writing doth come of private exposition,

第 一 要 紧 的 ， 该 知 道 经 上 所 有 的 预 言 没 有 可 随 私 意 解 说 的 ；

21 f or not by will of man did ever prophecy come, but by the Holy Spirit borne on holy men of God spake.

因 为 预 言 从 来 没 有 出 於 人 意 的 ， 乃 是 人 被 圣 灵 感 动 ， 说 出 神 的 话 来 。
