1 A lleluia. Lodate l'Eterno dai cieli, lodatelo nei luoghi altissimi.

Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise him in the heights.

2 L odatelo, voi tutti suoi angeli, lodatelo voi tutti suoi eserciti.

Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.

3 L odatelo, sole e luna, lodatelo, voi tutte stelle lucenti.

Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.

4 L odatelo, voi cieli dei cieli, e voi acque al di sopra dei cieli

Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens.

5 T utte queste cose lodino il nome dell'Eterno, perché egli comandò, ed esse furono create.

Let them praise the name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.

6 E gli le ha stabilite per sempre, in eterno; ha fatto uno statuto che non passerà mai.

He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass.

7 L odate l'Eterno dalla terra, voi mostri marini e oceani tutti,

Praise the Lord from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps:

8 f uoco e grandine, neve e nubi, vento di tempesta che esegue i suoi ordini;

fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word:

9 m onti e colli tutti, alberi fruttiferi e cedri tutti;

mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars:

10 v oi tutti animali selvatici e domestici, rettili e uccelli alati;

beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl:

11 v oi re della terra e popoli tutti, principi e giudici tutti della terra;

kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth:

12 g iovani e fanciulle, vecchi e bambini.

both young men, and maidens; old men, and children:

13 L odino il nome dell'Eterno, perché solo il suo nome è esaltato. La sua gloria è al di sopra della terra e dei cieli.

let them praise the name of the Lord: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.

14 E gli ha accresciuto la forza del suo popolo, un motivo questo di lode per tutti i suoi santi, per i figli d'Israele, un popolo a lui vicino. Alleluia.

He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the Lord.
