1 ( Ein Psalm Davids.) HERR, schaffe mir Recht; denn ich bin unschuldig! Ich hoffe auf den HERRN; darum werde ich nicht fallen.

Judge me, O Jehovah, for I have walked in mine integrity, and I have confided in Jehovah: I shall not slip.

2 P rüfe mich, HERR, und versuche mich; läutere meine Nieren und mein Herz.

Prove me, Jehovah, and test me; try my reins and my heart:

3 D enn deine Güte ist vor meinen Augen, und ich wandle in deiner Wahrheit.

For thy loving-kindness is before mine eyes, and I have walked in thy truth.

4 I ch sitze nicht bei den eitlen Leuten und habe nicht Gemeinschaft mit den Falschen.

I have not sat with vain persons, neither have I gone in with dissemblers;

5 I ch hasse die Versammlung der Boshaften und sitze nicht bei den Gottlosen.

I have hated the congregation of evil-doers, and I have not sat with the wicked.

6 I ch wasche meine Hände in Unschuld und halte mich, HERR, zu deinem Altar,

I will wash my hands in innocency, and will encompass thine altar, O Jehovah,

7 d a man hört die Stimme des Dankens, und da man predigt alle deine Wunder.

That I may cause the voice of thanksgiving to be heard, and declare all thy marvellous works.

8 H ERR, ich habe lieb die Stätte deines Hauses und den Ort, da deine Ehre wohnt.

Jehovah, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thy glory dwelleth.

9 R affe meine Seele nicht hin mit den Sündern noch mein Leben mit den Blutdürstigen,

Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with men of blood;

10 w elche mit böser Tücke umgehen und nehmen gern Geschenke.

In whose hands are evil devices, and their right hand is full of bribes.

11 I ch aber wandle unschuldig. Erlöse mich und sei mir gnädig!

But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity. Redeem me, and be gracious unto me.

12 M ein Fuß geht richtig. Ich will dich loben, HERR, in den Versammlungen.

My foot standeth in an even place; in the congregations will I bless Jehovah.
