1 ¡ Grande es el Señor, nuestro Dios! ¡Digno es de grandes alabanzas en su ciudad, en su santo monte!

Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.

2 H ermosa colina es el monte de Sión, situada al norte de la ciudad del gran Rey; ¡es motivo de gozo en toda la tierra!

Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

3 D entro de sus fortificaciones Dios es reconocido como un refugio seguro.

God is known in her palaces for a refuge.

4 L os reyes de la tierra se reunieron y juntos avanzaron contra la ciudad,

For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.

5 p ero al verla quedaron perplejos, y desconcertados, huyeron presurosos.

They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away.

6 A llí mismo les sobrevino gran temblor; ¡se retorcían de dolor, como parturientas!

Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail.

7 ¡ Y es que tú, con el viento solano, destrozaste las naves de Tarsis!

Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.

8 L o que antes oímos, ahora lo hemos visto en la ciudad de nuestro Dios, en la ciudad del Señor de los ejércitos: ¡Dios afirmará su ciudad para siempre!

As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah.

9 D ios nuestro, dentro de tu templo nos acordamos de tu misericordia.

We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.

10 D ios nuestro, tu nombre es digno de loor hasta los confines de la tierra; con tu diestra prodigas justicia;

According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.

11 p or tus juicios se alegra el monte de Sión y se regocijan las ciudades de Judá.

Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

12 R ecorran los alrededores de Sión; paseen por ella y cuenten sus torres.

Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.

13 O bserven con atención sus murallas; fíjense en sus fortificaciones, para que puedan decir a los que están por nacer:

Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.

14 « ¡Éste es nuestro Dios, ahora y para siempre! ¡El Dios nuestro nos guiará más allá de la muerte!»

For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.
