1 R eciban al que es débil en la fe, pero no para entrar en discusiones.

Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.

2 A lgunos creen que está permitido comer de todo, pero hay otros, que son débiles y que sólo comen legumbres.

For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.

3 E l que come de todo, no debe menospreciar al que no come ciertas cosas, y el que no come de todo, no debe juzgar al que come, porque Dios lo ha aceptado.

Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.

4 ¿ Quién eres tú, para juzgar al criado ajeno? Si éste se mantiene firme o cae, es un asunto de su propio amo. Pero se mantendrá firme, porque el Señor es poderoso para mantenerlo así.

Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

5 A lgunos creen que ciertos días son más importantes que otros. Otros consideran que todos los días son iguales. Cada uno está plenamente convencido de su propio pensamiento.

One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

6 E l que da importancia a ciertos días, lo hace para el Señor; y el que no les da importancia, también lo hace para el Señor. El que come, para el Señor come, porque da gracias a Dios; y el que deja de comer, lo hace para el Señor, y también da gracias a Dios.

He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

7 Y es que nadie vive para sí, ni nadie muere para sí,

For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.

8 p ues si vivimos, para el Señor vivimos, y si morimos, para el Señor morimos. Así que, ya sea que vivamos, o que muramos, somos del Señor.

For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.

9 P orque para esto mismo Cristo murió y resucitó: para ser Señor de los vivos y de los muertos.

For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

10 A sí que tú, ¿por qué juzgas a tu hermano? O tú también, ¿por qué menosprecias a tu hermano? ¡Todos tendremos que comparecer ante el tribunal de Cristo!

But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

11 E scrito está: «Vivo yo, dice el Señor, que ante mí se doblará toda rodilla, Y toda lengua confesará a Dios.»

For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

12 A sí que cada uno de nosotros tendrá que rendir cuentas a Dios de sí mismo.

So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

13 P or tanto, no sigamos juzgándonos unos a otros. Más bien, propongámonos no poner tropiezo al hermano, ni hacerlo caer.

Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.

14 Y o sé, y confío en el Señor Jesús, que nada es impuro en sí mismo; pero si alguien piensa que algo es impuro, lo es para él.

I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

15 P ero si tu hermano se siente agraviado por causa de lo que comes, entonces tu conducta ya no refleja el amor. No hagas que por causa de tu comida se pierda aquel por quien Cristo murió.

But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.

16 N o permitan que se hable mal del bien que ustedes hacen,

Let not then your good be evil spoken of:

17 p orque el reino de Dios no es cuestión de comida ni de bebida, sino de justicia, paz y gozo en el Espíritu Santo.

for the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

18 E l que de esta manera sirve a Cristo, agrada a Dios, y es aprobado por los hombres.

For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.

19 A sí que, sigamos lo que contribuye a la paz y a la mutua edificación.

Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

20 N o destruyas la obra de Dios por causa de la comida. Todas las cosas son limpias; lo malo es hacer tropezar a otros por lo que comemos.

For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.

21 L o mejor es no comer carne, ni beber vino, ni hacer nada que haga que tu hermano tropiece, o se ofenda, o se debilite.

It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.

22 ¿ Tú tienes fe? Tenla para contigo delante de Dios. Dichoso aquel, a quien su conciencia no lo acusa por lo que hace.

Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.

23 P ero el que duda acerca de lo que come, ya se ha condenado, porque no lo hace por convicción; y todo lo que no se hace por convicción es pecado.

And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
