1 A t the end of every seven years you shall grant a release.

Cada siete años harás remisión.

2 A nd this is the manner of the release: every creditor shall release that which he has lent to his neighbor; he shall not exact it of his neighbor, his brother, for the Lord’s release is proclaimed.

Y esta es la manera de la remisión: perdonará a su deudor todo aquel que hizo empréstito de su mano, con el cual obligó a su prójimo; no lo demandará más a su prójimo, o a su hermano, porque es pregonada la remisión de Jehová.

3 O f a foreigner you may exact it, but whatever of yours is with your brother your hand shall release.

Del extranjero demandarás el reintegro; pero lo que tu hermano tuviere tuyo, lo perdonará tu mano,

4 B ut there will be no poor among you, for the Lord will surely bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you for an inheritance to possess,

para que así no haya en medio de ti mendigo; porque Jehová te bendecirá con abundancia en la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da por heredad para que la tomes en posesión,

5 I f only you carefully listen to the voice of the Lord your God, to do watchfully all these commandments which I command you this day.

si escuchares fielmente la voz de Jehová tu Dios, para guardar y cumplir todos estos mandamientos que yo te ordeno hoy.

6 W hen the Lord your God blesses you as He promised you, then you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; and you shall rule over many nations, but they shall not rule over you.

Ya que Jehová tu Dios te habrá bendecido, como te ha dicho, prestarás entonces a muchas naciones, mas tú no tomarás prestado; tendrás dominio sobre muchas naciones, pero sobre ti no tendrán dominio. Préstamos a los pobres

7 I f there is among you a poor man, one of your kinsmen in any of the towns of your land which the Lord your God gives you, you shall not harden your hearts or close your hands to your poor brother;

Cuando haya en medio de ti menesteroso de alguno de tus hermanos en alguna de tus ciudades, en la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da, no endurecerás tu corazón, ni cerrarás tu mano contra tu hermano pobre,

8 B ut you shall open your hands wide to him and shall surely lend him sufficient for his need in whatever he lacks.

sino abrirás a él tu mano liberalmente, y en efecto le prestarás lo que necesite.

9 B eware lest there be a base thought in your hearts, and you say, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand, and your eye be evil against your poor brother and you give him nothing, and he cry to the Lord against you, and it be sin in you.

Guárdate de tener en tu corazón pensamiento perverso, diciendo: Cerca está el año séptimo, el de la remisión, y mires con malos ojos a tu hermano menesteroso para no darle; porque él podrá clamar contra ti a Jehová, y se te contará por pecado.

10 Y ou shall give to him freely without begrudging it; because of this the Lord will bless you in all your work and in all you undertake.

Sin falta le darás, y no serás de mezquino corazón cuando le des; porque por ello te bendecirá Jehová tu Dios en todos tus hechos, y en todo lo que emprendas.

11 F or the poor will never cease out of the land; therefore I command you, You shall open wide your hands to your brother, to your needy, and to your poor in your land.

Porque no faltarán menesterosos en medio de la tierra; por eso yo te mando, diciendo: Abrirás tu mano a tu hermano, al pobre y al menesteroso en tu tierra. Leyes sobre los esclavos (Ex. 21. 1-11)

12 A nd if your brother, a Hebrew man or a Hebrew woman, is sold to you and serves you six years, then in the seventh year you shall let him go free from you.

Si se vendiere a ti tu hermano hebreo o hebrea, y te hubiere servido seis años, al séptimo le despedirás libre.

13 A nd when you send him out free from you, you shall not let him go away empty-handed.

Y cuando lo despidieres libre, no le enviarás con las manos vacías.

14 Y ou shall furnish him liberally out of your flock, your threshing floor, and your winepress; of what the Lord your God has blessed you, you shall give to him.

Le abastecerás liberalmente de tus ovejas, de tu era y de tu lagar; le darás de aquello en que Jehová te hubiere bendecido.

15 A nd you shall remember that you were a bondman in the land of Egypt and the Lord your God redeemed you; therefore I give you this command today.

Y te acordarás de que fuiste siervo en la tierra de Egipto, y que Jehová tu Dios te rescató; por tanto yo te mando esto hoy.

16 B ut if the servant says to you, I will not go away from you, because he loves you and your household, since he does well with you,

Si él te dijere: No te dejaré; porque te ama a ti y a tu casa, y porque le va bien contigo;

17 T hen take an awl and pierce his ear through to the door, and he shall be your servant always. And also to your bondwoman you shall do likewise.

entonces tomarás una lesna, y horadarás su oreja contra la puerta, y será tu siervo para siempre; así también harás a tu criada.

18 I t shall not seem hard to you when you let him go free from you, for at half the cost of a hired servant he has served you six years; and the Lord your God will bless you in all you do.

No te parezca duro cuando le enviares libre, pues por la mitad del costo de un jornalero te sirvió seis años; y Jehová tu Dios te bendecirá en todo cuanto hicieres. Consagración de los primogénitos machos

19 A ll the firstling males that are born of your herd and flock you shall set apart for the Lord your God; you shall do no work with the firstling of your herd, nor shear the firstling of your flock.

Consagrarás a Jehová tu Dios todo primogénito macho de tus vacas y de tus ovejas; no te servirás del primogénito de tus vacas, ni trasquilarás el primogénito de tus ovejas.

20 Y ou shall eat it before the Lord your God annually in the place which the Lord shall choose, you and your household.

Delante de Jehová tu Dios los comerás cada año, tú y tu familia, en el lugar que Jehová escogiere.

21 B ut if it has any blemish, if it is lame, blind, or has any bad blemish whatsoever, you shall not sacrifice it to the Lord your God.

Y si hubiere en él defecto, si fuere ciego, o cojo, o hubiere en él cualquier falta, no lo sacrificarás a Jehová tu Dios.

22 Y ou shall eat it within your towns; the unclean and the clean alike may eat it, as if it were a gazelle or a hart.

En tus poblaciones lo comerás; el inmundo lo mismo que el limpio comerán de él, como de una gacela o de un ciervo.

23 O nly you shall not eat its blood; you shall pour it on the ground like water.

Solamente que no comas su sangre; sobre la tierra la derramarás como agua.
