1 M oreover the Lord answered Job, and said,

Entonces continuó el Señor y dijo a Job:

2 S hall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.

¿Podrá el que censura contender con el Todopoderoso ? El que reprende a Dios, responda a esto.

3 T hen Job answered the Lord, and said,

Entonces Job respondió al Señor y dijo:

4 B ehold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.

He aquí, yo soy insignificante; ¿qué puedo yo responderte? Mi mano pongo sobre la boca.

5 O nce have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.

Una vez he hablado, y no responderé; aun dos veces, y no añadiré más.

6 T hen answered the Lord unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

Entonces el Señor respondió a Job desde la tormenta y dijo:

7 G ird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

Ciñe ahora tus lomos como un hombre; yo te preguntaré, y tú me instruirás.

8 W ilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?

¿Anularás realmente mi juicio ? ¿Me condenarás para justificarte tú ?

9 H ast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?

¿Acaso tienes tú un brazo como el de Dios, y truenas con una voz como la suya ?

10 D eck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.

Adórnate ahora de majestad y dignidad, y vístete de gloria y de esplendor.

11 C ast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.

Derrama los torrentes de tu ira, mira a todo soberbio y abátelo,

12 L ook on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.

mira a todo soberbio y humíllalo, y pisotea a los impíos donde están.

13 H ide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.

Escóndelos juntos en el polvo; átalos en el lugar oculto.

14 T hen will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.

Entonces yo también te confesaré que tu mano derecha te puede salvar.

15 B ehold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.

He aquí ahora, Behemot, al cual hice como a ti, que come hierba como el buey.

16 L o now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.

He aquí ahora, su fuerza está en sus lomos, y su vigor en los músculos de su vientre.

17 H e moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.

Mueve su cola como un cedro; entretejidos están los tendones de sus muslos.

18 H is bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.

Sus huesos son tubos de bronce; sus miembros como barras de hierro.

19 H e is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.

Es la primera de las obras de Dios; que sólo su hacedor le acerque su espada.

20 S urely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.

Ciertamente alimento le traen los montes, y todas las bestias del campo retozan allí.

21 H e lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.

Bajo los lotos se echa, en lo oculto de las cañas y del pantano.

22 T he shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.

Lo cubren los lotos con su sombra; los sauces del arroyo lo rodean.

23 B ehold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.

Si el río ruge, él no se alarma; tranquilo está, aunque el Jordán se lance contra su boca.

24 H e taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.

¿Lo capturará alguien cuando está vigilando ? ¿Perforará alguien su nariz con garfios ?
