1 A nd David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?

Dijo David: ¿Hay todavía alguno que haya quedado de la casa de Saúl, para que yo le muestre bondad por amor a Jonatán ?

2 A nd there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba. And when they had called him unto David, the king said unto him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant is he.

Y había un siervo de la casa de Saúl que se llamaba Siba, y lo llamaron ante David. Y el rey le dijo: ¿Eres tú Siba? Y él respondió: Tu servidor.

3 A nd the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet.

Y dijo el rey: ¿No queda aún alguien de la casa de Saúl a quien yo pueda mostrar la bondad de Dios ? Y Siba respondió al rey: Aún queda un hijo de Jonatán lisiado de ambos pies.

4 A nd the king said unto him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar.

El rey le dijo: ¿Dónde está? Y Siba respondió al rey: He aquí, está en casa de Maquir, hijo de Amiel, en Lodebar.

5 T hen king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar.

Entonces el rey David mandó traerlo de la casa de Maquir, hijo de Amiel, de Lodebar.

6 N ow when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant!

Y Mefiboset, hijo de Jonatán, hijo de Saúl, vino a David, y cayendo sobre su rostro, se postró. Y David dijo: Mefiboset. Y éste respondió: He aquí tu siervo.

7 A nd David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father’s sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.

David le dijo: No temas, porque ciertamente te mostraré bondad por amor a tu padre Jonatán, y te devolveré toda la tierra de tu abuelo Saúl; y tú comerás siempre a mi mesa.

8 A nd he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?

Se postró él de nuevo, y dijo: ¿Quién es tu siervo, para que tomes en cuenta a un perro muerto como yo ?

9 T hen the king called to Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said unto him, I have given unto thy master’s son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house.

Entonces el rey llamó a Siba, siervo de Saúl, y le dijo: Todo lo que pertenecía a Saúl y a su casa, lo he dado al nieto de tu señor.

10 T hou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master’s son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master’s son shall eat bread alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.

Y tú, tus hijos y tus siervos cultivaréis la tierra para él, y le llevarás los frutos para que el nieto de tu señor tenga alimento; sin embargo, Mefiboset, nieto de tu señor, comerá siempre a mi mesa. Siba tenía quince hijos y veinte siervos.

11 T hen said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king’s sons.

Respondió Siba al rey: Conforme a todo lo que mi señor el rey mande a su siervo, así hará tu siervo. Y Mefiboset comió a la mesa de David como uno de los hijos del rey.

12 A nd Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth.

Mefiboset tenía un hijo pequeño que se llamaba Micaía. Todos los que moraban en la casa de Siba eran siervos de Mefiboset;

13 S o Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king’s table; and was lame on both his feet.

pero Mefiboset moraba en Jerusalén, porque siempre comía a la mesa del rey. Estaba lisiado de ambos pies.
