1 L et not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

No se turbe vuestro corazón; creed en Dios, creed también en mí.

2 I n my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

En la casa de mi Padre hay muchas moradas; si no fuera así, os lo hubiera dicho; porque voy a preparar un lugar para vosotros.

3 A nd if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Y si me voy y preparo un lugar para vosotros, vendré otra vez y os tomaré conmigo; para que donde yo estoy, allí estéis también vosotros.

4 A nd whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

Y conocéis el camino adonde voy.

5 T homas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

Tomás le dijo: Señor, si no sabemos adónde vas, ¿cómo vamos a conocer el camino?

6 J esus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Jesús le dijo: Yo soy el camino, y la verdad, y la vida; nadie viene al Padre sino por mí.

7 I f ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Si me hubierais conocido, también hubierais conocido a mi Padre; desde ahora le conocéis y le habéis visto.

8 P hilip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

Felipe le dijo: Señor, muéstranos al Padre, y nos basta.

9 J esus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

Jesús le dijo: ¿Tanto tiempo he estado con vosotros, y todavía no me conoces, Felipe? El que me ha visto a mí, ha visto al Padre; ¿cómo dices tú: “Muéstranos al Padre”?

10 B elievest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

¿No crees que yo estoy en el Padre, y el Padre en mí ? Las palabras que yo os digo, no las hablo por mi propia cuenta, sino que el Padre que mora en mí es el que hace las obras.

11 B elieve me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

Creedme que yo estoy en el Padre, y el Padre en mí; y si no, creed por las obras mismas.

12 V erily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

En verdad, en verdad os digo: el que cree en mí, las obras que yo hago, él las hará también; y aun mayores que éstas hará, porque yo voy al Padre.

13 A nd whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Y todo lo que pidáis en mi nombre, lo haré, para que el Padre sea glorificado en el Hijo.

14 I f ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Si me pedís algo en mi nombre, yo lo haré. La promesa del Espíritu Santo

15 I f ye love me, keep my commandments.

Si me amáis, guardaréis mis mandamientos.

16 A nd I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

Y yo rogaré al Padre, y El os dará otro Consolador para que esté con vosotros para siempre;

17 e ven the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

es decir, el Espíritu de verdad, a quien el mundo no puede recibir, porque ni le ve ni le conoce, pero vosotros sí le conocéis porque mora con vosotros y estará en vosotros.

18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

No os dejaré huérfanos; vendré a vosotros.

19 Y et a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

Un poco más de tiempo y el mundo no me verá más, pero vosotros me veréis; porque yo vivo, vosotros también viviréis.

20 A t that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

En ese día conoceréis que yo estoy en mi Padre, y vosotros en mí, y yo en vosotros.

21 H e that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

El que tiene mis mandamientos y los guarda, ése es el que me ama; y el que me ama será amado por mi Padre; y yo lo amaré y me manifestaré a él.

22 J udas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

Judas (no el Iscariote) le dijo: Señor, ¿y qué ha pasado que te vas a manifestar a nosotros y no al mundo ?

23 J esus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Jesús respondió, y le dijo: Si alguno me ama, guardará mi palabra; y mi Padre lo amará, y vendremos a él, y haremos con él morada.

24 H e that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.

El que no me ama, no guarda mis palabras; y la palabra que oís no es mía, sino del Padre que me envió.

25 T hese things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

Estas cosas os he dicho estando con vosotros.

26 B ut the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Pero el Consolador, el Espíritu Santo, a quien el Padre enviará en mi nombre, El os enseñará todas las cosas, y os recordará todo lo que os he dicho. La paz de Cristo

27 P eace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

La paz os dejo, mi paz os doy; no os la doy como el mundo la da. No se turbe vuestro corazón, ni tenga miedo.

28 Y e have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

Oísteis que yo os dije: “Me voy, y vendré a vosotros.” Si me amarais, os regocijaríais porque voy al Padre, ya que el Padre es mayor que yo.

29 A nd now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

Y os lo he dicho ahora, antes que suceda, para que cuando suceda, creáis.

30 H ereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

No hablaré mucho más con vosotros, porque viene el príncipe de este mundo, y él no tiene nada en mí;

31 B ut that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

pero para que el mundo sepa que yo amo al Padre, y como el Padre me mandó, así hago. Levantaos, vámonos de aquí.
