1 D o we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?

¿Comenzamos otra vez a recomendarnos a nosotros mismos? ¿O acaso necesitamos, como algunos, cartas de recomendación para vosotros o de parte de vosotros?

2 Y e are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:

Vosotros sois nuestra carta, escrita en nuestros corazones, conocida y leída por todos los hombres,

3 f orasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

siendo manifiesto que sois carta de Cristo redactada por nosotros, no escrita con tinta, sino con el Espíritu del Dios vivo; no en tablas de piedra, sino en tablas de corazones humanos.

4 A nd such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:

Y esta confianza tenemos hacia Dios por medio de Cristo:

5 n ot that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

no que seamos suficientes en nosotros mismos para pensar que cosa alguna procede de nosotros, sino que nuestra suficiencia es de Dios,

6 w ho also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

el cual también nos hizo suficientes como ministros de un nuevo pacto, no de la letra, sino del Espíritu; porque la letra mata, pero el Espíritu da vida.

7 B ut if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:

Y si el ministerio de muerte grabado con letras en piedras fue con gloria, de tal manera que los hijos de Israel no podían fijar la vista en el rostro de Moisés por causa de la gloria de su rostro, que se desvanecía,

8 h ow shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?

¿cómo no será aún con más gloria el ministerio del Espíritu?

9 F or if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.

Porque si el ministerio de condenación tiene gloria, mucho más abunda en gloria el ministerio de justicia.

10 F or even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.

Pues en verdad, lo que tenía gloria, en este caso no tiene gloria por razón de la gloria que lo sobrepasa.

11 F or if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.

Porque si lo que se desvanece fue con gloria, mucho más es con gloria lo que permanece. Transformados de gloria en gloria

12 S eeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:

Teniendo, por tanto, tal esperanza, hablamos con mucha franqueza,

13 a nd not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:

y no somos como Moisés, que ponía un velo sobre su rostro para que los hijos de Israel no fijaran su vista en el fin de aquello que había de desvanecerse.

14 b ut their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.

Pero el entendimiento de ellos se endureció; porque hasta el día de hoy, en la lectura del antiguo pacto el mismo velo permanece sin alzarse, pues sólo en Cristo es quitado.

15 B ut even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.

Y hasta el día de hoy, cada vez que se lee a Moisés, un velo está puesto sobre sus corazones;

16 N evertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

pero cuando alguno se vuelve al Señor, el velo es quitado.

17 N ow the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Ahora bien, el Señor es el Espíritu; y donde está el Espíritu del Señor, hay libertad.

18 B ut we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Pero nosotros todos, con el rostro descubierto, contemplando como en un espejo la gloria del Señor, estamos siendo transformados en la misma imagen de gloria en gloria, como por el Señor, el Espíritu.
