1 I f it had not been Jehovah who was on our side, Let Israel now say,

2 I f it had not been Jehovah who was on our side, When men rose up against us;

A no haber estado Jehová por nosotros, Cuando se levantaron contra nosotros los hombres,

3 T hen they had swallowed us up alive, When their wrath was kindled against us;

Vivos nos habrían entonces tragado, Cuando se encendió su furor en nosotros.

4 T hen the waters had overwhelmed us, The stream had gone over our soul;

Entonces nos habrían inundado las aguas; Sobre nuestra alma hubiera pasado el torrente:

5 T hen the proud waters had gone over our soul.

Hubieran entonces pasado sobre nuestra alma las aguas soberbias.

6 B lessed be Jehovah, Who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

Bendito Jehová, Que no nos dió por presa á sus dientes.

7 O ur soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: The snare is broken, and we are escaped.

Nuestra alma escapó cual ave del lazo de los cazadores: Quebróse el lazo, y escapamos nosotros.

8 O ur help is in the name of Jehovah, Who made heaven and earth.

Nuestro socorro es en el nombre de Jehová, Que hizo el cielo y la tierra.
