1 N ow it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these sayings, that He departed from Galilee and came to the region of Judea beyond the Jordan.

Aconteció que cuando Jesús terminó estas palabras, se alejó de Galilea, y se fue a la comarca de Judea, al otro lado del Jordán.

2 A nd great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them there.

Y le siguieron grandes multitudes, y los sanó allí.

3 T he Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?”

Entonces se le acercaron los fariseos para ponerle a prueba, diciéndole: ¿Es lícito a un hombre repudiar a su mujer por cualquier causa?

4 A nd He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’

Él, respondiendo, les dijo: ¿No habéis leído que el que los creó, desde el principio los hizo varón y hembra,

5 a nd said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?

y dijo: Por eso el hombre dejará a su padre y a su madre, y se unirá a su mujer, y los dos vendrán a ser una sola carne?

6 S o then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”

Así que ya no son dos, sino una sola carne; por tanto, lo que Dios juntó, no lo separe el hombre.

7 T hey said to Him, “Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?”

Le dijeron: ¿Por qué, pues, mandó Moisés dar carta de divorcio, y repudiarla?

8 H e said to them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.

Él les dijo: Por la dureza de vuestro corazón, Moisés os permitió repudiar a vuestras mujeres; pero no fue así desde el principio.

9 A nd I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.”

Y yo os digo que cualquiera que repudia a su mujer, salvo por causa de fornicación, y se casa con otra, comete adulterio; y el que se casa con la repudiada, comete adulterio.

10 H is disciples said to Him, “If such is the case of the man with his wife, it is better not to marry.” Jesus Teaches on Celibacy

Le dijeron sus discípulos: Si así es la condición del hombre con su mujer, no conviene casarse.

11 B ut He said to them, “All cannot accept this saying, but only those to whom it has been given:

Entonces él les dijo: No todos son capaces de comprender esta doctrina, sino aquellos a quienes ha sido dado.

12 F or there are eunuchs who were born thus from their mother’s womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He who is able to accept it, let him accept it.” Jesus Blesses Little Children

Pues hay eunucos que nacieron así del vientre de su madre, y hay eunucos que fueron hechos eunucos por los hombres, y hay eunucos que se hicieron eunucos a sí mismos por causa del reino de los cielos. El que sea capaz de aceptar esto, que lo acepte. Jesucristo bendice a los niños

13 T hen little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them.

Entonces le fueron presentados unos niños, para que pusiese las manos sobre ellos, y orase; y los discípulos les reprendieron.

14 B ut Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

Pero Jesús dijo: Dejad a los niños, y no les impidáis que vengan a mí; porque de los tales es el reino de los cielos.

15 A nd He laid His hands on them and departed from there. Jesus Counsels the Rich Young Ruler

Y habiendo puesto sobre ellos las manos, se fue de allí. El joven rico

16 N ow behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?”

Entonces se le acercó uno y le dijo: Maestro bueno, ¿qué cosa buena haré para tener la vida eterna?

17 S o He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

Él le dijo: ¿Por qué me dices bueno? Ninguno hay bueno sino uno: Dios. Mas si quieres entrar en la vida, guarda los mandamientos.

18 H e said to Him, “Which ones?” Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’

Le dijo: ¿Cuáles? Y Jesús le dijo: No matarás. No adulterarás. No hurtarás. No dirás falso testimonio.

19 ‘ Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”

Honra a tu padre y a tu madre; y: Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.

20 T he young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?”

El joven le dijo: Todo esto lo he guardado desde mi juventud. ¿Qué me falta todavía?

21 J esus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

Jesús le dijo: Si quieres ser perfecto, anda, vende tus posesiones, y dalo a los pobres, y tendrás tesoro en el cielo; y ven y sígueme.

22 B ut when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. With God All Things Are Possible

Al oír el joven estas palabras, se fue triste, porque era poseedor de muchos bienes.

23 T hen Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.

Entonces Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: De cierto os digo, que difícilmente entrará un rico en el reino de los cielos.

24 A nd again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

Otra vez os digo: Es más fácil que un camello pase por el ojo de una aguja, que el que un rico entre en el reino de Dios.

25 W hen His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”

Sus discípulos, al oír esto, se asombraban en gran manera, diciendo: ¿Quién, entonces, podrá ser salvo?

26 B ut Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Jesús, fijando en ellos la mirada, les dijo: Para los hombres, eso es imposible; mas para Dios todo es posible.

27 T hen Peter answered and said to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?”

Entonces Pedro tomó la palabra y le dijo: Mira que nosotros lo hemos dejado todo, y te hemos seguido; ¿qué, pues, tendremos?

28 S o Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Y Jesús les dijo: De cierto os digo que en la regeneración, cuando el Hijo del Hombre se siente en el trono de su gloria, vosotros que me habéis seguido os sentaréis también sobre doce tronos, para juzgar a las doce tribus de Israel.

29 A nd everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.

Y todo el que haya dejado casas, o hermanos, o hermanas, o padre, o madre, o mujer, o hijos, o tierras, por mi nombre, recibirá cien veces más, y heredará la vida eterna.

30 B ut many who are first will be last, and the last first.

Pero muchos primeros serán últimos; y últimos, primeros.
