1 W oe to those who go down to Egypt for help, And rely on horses, Who trust in chariots because they are many, And in horsemen because they are very strong, But who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, Nor seek the Lord!

¡Ay de los que descienden a Egipto por ayuda, y confían en caballos; y su esperanza ponen en carros, porque son muchos, y en jinetes, porque son muy fuertes; y no miran al Santo de Israel, ni buscan a Jehová!

2 Y et He also is wise and will bring disaster, And will not call back His words, But will arise against the house of evildoers, And against the help of those who work iniquity.

Pero él también es sabio, y traerá el desastre, y no retirará sus palabras. Se levantará contra la casa de los malhechores, y contra el auxilio de los que hacen iniquidad.

3 N ow the Egyptians are men, and not God; And their horses are flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord stretches out His hand, Both he who helps will fall, And he who is helped will fall down; They all will perish together. God Will Deliver Jerusalem

Y los egipcios son hombres, y no Dios; y sus caballos, carne, y no espíritu; de manera que al extender Jehová su mano, caerá el ayudador y caerá el ayudado, y todos a una perecerán.

4 F or thus the Lord has spoken to me: “As a lion roars, And a young lion over his prey (When a multitude of shepherds is summoned against him, He will not be afraid of their voice Nor be disturbed by their noise), So the Lord of hosts will come down To fight for Mount Zion and for its hill.

Porque Jehová me dijo a mí de esta manera: Como el león, o el cachorro de león, ruge sobre la presa, y aunque se reúna una multitud de pastores contra él, no lo espantarán sus voces, ni se acobardará por el tropel de ellos; así Jehová de los ejércitos descenderá a pelear sobre el monte de Sión, y sobre su collado.

5 L ike birds flying about, So will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem. Defending, He will also deliver it; Passing over, He will preserve it. ”

Como las aves que aletean sobre sus polluelos, así amparará Jehová de los ejércitos a Jerusalén; la librará amparándola, y la preservará rescatándola.

6 R eturn to Him against whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.

Volveos a aquel contra quien os rebelasteis profundamente, hijos de Israel.

7 F or in that day every man shall throw away his idols of silver and his idols of gold—sin, which your own hands have made for yourselves.

Porque en aquel día arrojará cada uno de vosotros sus ídolos de plata y sus ídolos de oro, que para vosotros han hecho vuestras manos pecadoras.

8 “ Then Assyria shall fall by a sword not of man, And a sword not of mankind shall devour him. But he shall flee from the sword, And his young men shall become forced labor.

Entonces caerá Asiria por espada no de varón, y la consumirá espada no de hombre; y huirá de la presencia de la espada, y sus jóvenes serán esclavos forzados.

9 H e shall cross over to his stronghold for fear, And his princes shall be afraid of the banner,” Says the Lord, Whose fire is in Zion And whose furnace is in Jerusalem.

Y por el terror pasará su fortaleza, y sus príncipes, presa del pánico, dejarán sus banderas, dice Jehová, cuyo fuego está en Sión, y su horno en Jerusalén.
