1 T hen the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven.

Se le acercaron los fariseos y los saduceos para tentarle, y le pidieron que les mostrase una señal del cielo.

2 H e answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘ It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’;

Mas él, respondiendo, les dijo: Cuando llega el atardecer, decís: Buen tiempo; porque el cielo se pone rojizo.

3 a nd in the morning, ‘ It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.

Y por la mañana: Hoy habrá tempestad; porque el cielo se pone de un rojo sombrío. ¡Hipócritas! ¿Sabéis discernir el aspecto del cielo, y no podéis discernir las señales de los tiempos?

4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And He left them and departed. The Leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees

Esta generación mala y adúltera demanda una señal; pero no le será dada señal, sino la señal del profeta Jonás. Y dejándolos, se fue. La levadura de los fariseos

5 N ow when His disciples had come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.

Llegando sus discípulos al otro lado, se habían olvidado de traer pan.

6 T hen Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.”

Y Jesús les dijo: Mirad, guardaos de la levadura de los fariseos y de los saduceos.

7 A nd they reasoned among themselves, saying, “ It is because we have taken no bread.”

Ellos pensaban dentro de sí, diciendo: Lo dice porque no trajimos pan.

8 B ut Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “O you of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves because you have brought no bread?

Y conociéndolo Jesús, les dijo: ¿Por qué pensáis dentro de vosotros, hombres de poca fe, que no tenéis pan?

9 D o you not yet understand, or remember the five loaves of the five thousand and how many baskets you took up?

¿No entendéis aún, ni os acordáis de los cinco panes entre cinco mil hombres, y cuántas cestas recogisteis?

10 N or the seven loaves of the four thousand and how many large baskets you took up?

¿Ni de los siete panes entre cuatro mil, y cuántas canastas recogisteis?

11 H ow is it you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread?— but to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

¿Cómo es que no entendéis que no me referí al pan cuando os dije que os guardaseis de la levadura de los fariseos y de los saduceos?

12 T hen they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees. Peter Confesses Jesus as the Christ

Entonces entendieron que no les había dicho que se guardasen de la levadura del pan, sino de la doctrina de los fariseos y de los saduceos. La confesión de Pedro

13 W hen Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

Al llegar Jesús a la región de Cesarea de Filipo, preguntó a sus discípulos, diciendo: ¿Quién dicen los hombres que es el Hijo del Hombre?

14 S o they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

Ellos dijeron: Unos, que Juan el Bautista; otros, que Elías; y otros, que Jeremías, o alguno de los profetas.

15 H e said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

Él les dijo: Y vosotros, ¿quién decís que soy yo?

16 S imon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Respondiendo Simón Pedro, dijo: Tú eres el Cristo, el Hijo del Dios viviente.

17 J esus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

Entonces le respondió Jesús: Bienaventurado eres, Simón, hijo de Jonás, porque no te lo reveló carne ni sangre, sino mi Padre que está en los cielos.

18 A nd I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

Y yo también te digo, que tú eres Pedro, y sobre esta roca edificaré mi iglesia; y las puertas del Hades no prevalecerán contra ella.

19 A nd I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Y a ti te daré las llaves del reino de los cielos; y todo lo que ates en la tierra, estará atado en los cielos; y todo lo que desates en la tierra, estará desatado en los cielos.

20 T hen He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ. Jesus Predicts His Death and Resurrection

Entonces mandó a sus discípulos que a nadie dijesen que él era Jesús el Cristo. Jesucristo anuncia su muerte

21 F rom that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.

Desde entonces comenzó Jesús a declarar a sus discípulos que él debía ir a Jerusalén y padecer mucho de parte de los ancianos, de los principales sacerdotes y de los escribas; y ser muerto, y resucitar al tercer día.

22 T hen Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!”

Entonces Pedro, tomándolo aparte, comenzó a reconvenirle, diciendo: Señor, no lo permita Dios; en ninguna manera te suceda esto.

23 B ut He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” Take Up the Cross and Follow Him

Pero él, volviéndose, dijo a Pedro: ¡Quítate de delante de mí, Satanás!; me eres tropiezo, porque tus sentimientos no son los de Dios, sino los de los hombres.

24 T hen Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

Entonces Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: Si alguno quiere venir en pos de mí, niéguese a sí mismo, tome su cruz, y sígame.

25 F or whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.

Porque todo el que quiera salvar su vida, la perderá; y todo el que pierda su vida por causa de mí, la hallará.

26 F or what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

Porque, ¿qué provecho sacará el hombre de ganar el mundo entero, si pierde su alma? ¿O qué dará un hombre a cambio de su alma?

27 F or the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.

Porque el Hijo del Hombre ha de venir en la gloria de su Padre con sus ángeles, y entonces pagará a cada uno conforme a su conducta.

28 “ Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”

De cierto os digo que hay algunos de los que están aquí, que no gustarán la muerte hasta que hayan visto venir en su reino al Hijo del Hombre.
