1 T hen Bildad the Shuhite answered and said:

Respondió Bildad suhita, y dijo:

2 “ Dominion and fear belong to Him; He makes peace in His high places.

Dios tiene un poder temible; Él pone paz en sus alturas.

3 I s there any number to His armies? Upon whom does His light not rise?

¿Tienen sus ejércitos número? ¿Sobre quién no está su luz?

4 H ow then can man be righteous before God? Or how can he be pure who is born of a woman?

¿Cómo, pues, se justificará el hombre ante Dios? ¿Y cómo será limpio el que nace de mujer?

5 I f even the moon does not shine, And the stars are not pure in His sight,

He aquí que ni aun la misma luna será resplandeciente, Ni las estrellas son limpias delante de sus ojos;

6 H ow much less man, who is a maggot, And a son of man, who is a worm?”

¿Cuánto menos el hombre, que es un gusano, Y el hijo de hombre, también gusano?
