Do not fear, O Daughter of Zion! Look! Your King is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt!
16 H is disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of him and that they had done these things unto him.
His disciples did not understand and could not comprehend the meaning of these things at first; but when Jesus was glorified and exalted, they remembered that these things had been written about Him and had been done to Him.
17 T he multitude, therefore, that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave and raised him from the dead, bore witness.
The group that had been with Jesus when He called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from among the dead kept telling it to others.
18 F or this cause the multitude also met him, for they had heard that he had done this sign.
It was for this reason that the crowd went out to meet Him, because they had heard that He had performed this sign (proof, miracle).

And Jesus answered them, The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified and exalted.
24 V erily, verily, I say unto you, Except the grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it abides alone; but if it dies, it brings forth much fruit.
I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces many others and yields a rich harvest.
25 H e that loves his life shall lose it, and he that hates his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
Anyone who loves his life loses it, but anyone who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal.
26 I f anyone serves me, let them follow me; and where I am, there shall my servant be also; the one that serves me, will my Father honour.
If anyone serves Me, he must continue to follow Me '> to cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying] and wherever I am, there will My servant be also. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.
27 ¶ Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour, but for this have I come in this hour.
Now My soul is troubled and distressed, and what shall I say? Father, save Me from this hour ? But it was for this very purpose that I have come to this hour.
28 F ather, clarify thy name. Then there came a voice from the heaven, saying, I have clarified it and will clarify it again.

29 T he people, therefore, that were present and heard it, said that it thundered; others said, An angel spoke to him.

And I, if and when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw and attract all men to Myself.
33 T his he said, signifying what death he should die.
He said this to signify in what manner He would die.
34 T he people answered him, We have heard out of the law that the Christ abides for ever; and how sayest thou, It is expedient that the Son of man be lifted up? Who is this Son of man?
At this the people answered Him, We have learned from the Law that the Christ is to remain forever; how then can You say, The Son of Man must be lifted up ? Who is this Son of Man?
35 T hen Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the Light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you; for he that walks in darkness does not know where he goes.
So Jesus said to them, You will have the Light only a little while longer. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness may not overtake and overcome you. He who walks about in the dark does not know where he goes.
36 W hile ye have the Light, believe in the Light that ye may be the sons of light. Jesus spoke these things and departed and hid himself from them.
While you have the Light, believe in the Light, that you may become sons of the Light and be filled with Light. Jesus said these things, and then He went away and hid Himself from them.
37 ¶ But although he had done so many signs before them, yet they did not believe in him,

38 t hat the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, Lord, who shall believe our report? and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
So that what Isaiah the prophet said was fulfilled: Lord, who has believed our report and our message? And to whom has the arm (the power) of the Lord been shown (unveiled and revealed)?
39 T herefore they could not believe, because Isaiah said again,
Therefore they could not believe. For Isaiah has also said,
40 H e has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, that they should not see with their eyes nor understand with their heart and be converted, and I should heal them.
He has blinded their eyes and hardened and benumbed their hearts, to keep them from seeing with their eyes and understanding with their hearts and minds and repenting and turning to Me to heal them.

47 A nd if anyone hears my words and believes not, I judge him not, for I came not to judge the world but to save the world.
If anyone hears My teachings and fails to observe them, it is not I who judges him. For I have not come to judge and to condemn and to pass sentence and to inflict penalty on the world, but to save the world.
48 H e that rejects me and does not receive my words has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
Anyone who rejects Me and persistently sets Me at naught, refusing to accept My teachings, has his judge; for the message that I have spoken will itself judge and convict him at the last day.
49 F or I have not spoken of myself; but the Father who sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say and what I should speak.
This is because I have never spoken on My own authority or of My own accord or as self-appointed, but the Father Who sent Me has Himself given Me orders what to say and what to tell.
50 A nd I know that his commandment is eternal life; whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
And I know that His commandment is (means) eternal life. So whatever I speak, I am saying what My Father has told Me to say and in accordance with His instructions.
