1 A nd it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of Jehovah, and the king's house, and all Solomon's desire which he was pleased to do,

Cuando Salomón hubo acabado la obra de la casa de Jehová, y la casa real, y todo lo que Salomón quiso hacer,

2 t hat Jehovah appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon.

Jehová apareció a Salomón la segunda vez, como le había aparecido en Gabaón.

3 A nd Jehovah said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.

Y le dijo Jehová: Yo he oído tu oración y tu ruego que has hecho en mi presencia. Yo he santificado esta casa que tú has edificado, para poner mi nombre en ella para siempre; y en ella estarán mis ojos y mi corazón todos los días.

4 A nd as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and mine ordinances;

Y si tú anduvieres delante de mí como anduvo David tu padre, en integridad de corazón y en equidad, haciendo todas las cosas que yo te he mandado, y guardando mis estatutos y mis decretos,

5 t hen I will establish the throne of thy kingdom over Israel for ever, according as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.

yo afirmaré el trono de tu reino sobre Israel para siempre, como hablé a David tu padre, diciendo: No faltará varón de tu descendencia en el trono de Israel.

6 B ut if ye shall turn away from following me, ye or your children, and not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

Mas si obstinadamente os apartareis de mí vosotros y vuestros hijos, y no guardareis mis mandamientos y mis estatutos que yo he puesto delante de vosotros, sino que fuereis y sirviereis a dioses ajenos, y los adorareis;

7 t hen will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

yo cortaré a Israel de sobre la faz de la tierra que les he entregado; y esta casa que he santificado a mi nombre, yo la echaré de delante de mí, e Israel será por proverbio y refrán a todos los pueblos;

8 A nd though this house is so high, yet shall every one that passeth by it be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath Jehovah done thus unto this land, and to this house?

y esta casa, que estaba en estima, cualquiera que pase por ella se asombrará, y se burlará, y dirá: ¿Por qué ha hecho así Jehová a esta tierra y a esta casa?

9 a nd they shall answer, Because they forsook Jehovah their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath Jehovah brought all this evil upon them.

Y dirán: Por cuanto dejaron a Jehová su Dios, que había sacado a sus padres de tierra de Egipto, y echaron mano a dioses ajenos, y los adoraron y los sirvieron; por eso ha traído Jehová sobre ellos todo este mal. Otras actividades de Salomón (2 Cr. 8. 1-18)

10 A nd it came to pass at the end of twenty years, wherein Solomon had built the two houses, the house of Jehovah and the king's house,

Aconteció al cabo de veinte años, cuando Salomón ya había edificado las dos casas, la casa de Jehová y la casa real,

11 ( now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar-trees and fir-trees, and with gold, according to all his desire), that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

para las cuales Hiram rey de Tiro había traído a Salomón madera de cedro y de ciprés, y cuanto oro quiso, que el rey Salomón dio a Hiram veinte ciudades en tierra de Galilea.

12 A nd Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they pleased him not.

Y salió Hiram de Tiro para ver las ciudades que Salomón le había dado, y no le gustaron.

13 A nd he said, What cities are these which thou hast given me, my brother? And he called them the land of Cabul unto this day.

Y dijo: ¿Qué ciudades son estas que me has dado, hermano? Y les puso por nombre, la tierra de Cabul, nombre que tiene hasta hoy.

14 A nd Hiram sent to the king sixscore talents of gold.

E Hiram había enviado al rey ciento veinte talentos de oro.

15 A nd this is the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised, to build the house of Jehovah, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.

Esta es la razón de la leva que el rey Salomón impuso para edificar la casa de Jehová, y su propia casa, y Milo, y el muro de Jerusalén, y Hazor, Meguido y Gezer:

16 P haraoh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the Canaanites that dwelt in the city, and given it for a portion unto his daughter, Solomon's wife.

Faraón el rey de Egipto había subido y tomado a Gezer, y la quemó, y dio muerte a los cananeos que habitaban la ciudad, y la dio en dote a su hija la mujer de Salomón.

17 A nd Solomon built Gezer, and Beth-horon the nether,

Restauró, pues, Salomón a Gezer y a la baja Bet-horón,

18 a nd Baalath, and Tamar in the wilderness, in the land,

a Baalat, y a Tadmor en tierra del desierto;

19 a nd all the store-cities that Solomon had, and the cities for his chariots, and the cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build for his pleasure in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

asimismo todas las ciudades donde Salomón tenía provisiones, y las ciudades de los carros, y las ciudades de la gente de a caballo, y todo lo que Salomón quiso edificar en Jerusalén, en el Líbano, y en toda la tierra de su señorío.

20 A s for all the people that were left of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of the children of Israel;

A todos los pueblos que quedaron de los amorreos, heteos, ferezeos, heveos y jebuseos, que no eran de los hijos de Israel;

21 t heir children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel were not able utterly to destroy, of them did Solomon raise a levy of bondservants unto this day.

a sus hijos que quedaron en la tierra después de ellos, que los hijos de Israel no pudieron acabar, hizo Salomón que sirviesen con tributo hasta hoy.

22 B ut of the children of Israel did Solomon make no bondservants; but they were the men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and his captains, and rulers of his chariots and of his horsemen.

Mas a ninguno de los hijos de Israel impuso Salomón servicio, sino que eran hombres de guerra, o sus criados, sus príncipes, sus capitanes, comandantes de sus carros, o su gente de a caballo.

23 T hese were the chief officers that were over Solomon's work, five hundred and fifty, who bare rule over the people that wrought in the work.

Y los que Salomón había hecho jefes y vigilantes sobre las obras eran quinientos cincuenta, los cuales estaban sobre el pueblo que trabajaba en aquella obra.

24 B ut Pharaoh's daughter came up out of the city of David unto her house which Solomon had built for her: then did he build Millo.

Y subió la hija de Faraón de la ciudad de David a su casa que Salomón le había edificado; entonces edificó él a Milo.

25 A nd three times a year did Solomon offer burnt-offerings and peace-offerings upon the altar which he built unto Jehovah, burning incense therewith, upon the altar that was before Jehovah. So he finished the house.

Y ofrecía Salomón tres veces cada año holocaustos y sacrificios de paz sobre el altar que él edificó a Jehová, y quemaba incienso sobre el que estaba delante de Jehová, después que la casa fue terminada.

26 A nd king Solomon made a navy of ships in Ezion-geber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.

Hizo también el rey Salomón naves en Ezión-geber, que está junto a Elot en la ribera del Mar Rojo, en la tierra de Edom.

27 A nd Hiram sent in the navy his servants, shipmen that had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.

Y envió Hiram en ellas a sus siervos, marineros y diestros en el mar, con los siervos de Salomón,

28 A nd they came to Ophir, and fetched from thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.

los cuales fueron a Ofir y tomaron de allí oro, cuatrocientos veinte talentos, y lo trajeron al rey Salomón.
