1 Д ля дириґетна хору. На ґітійськім знарядді. Асафів. (81-2) Співайте Богові, нашій твердині, покликуйте Богові Якова,

Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.

2 ( 81-3) заспівайте пісню, і заграйте на бубні, на цитрі приємній із гуслами,

Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.

3 ( 81-4) засурміть у сурму в новомісяччя, на повні в день нашого свята,

Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

4 ( 81-5) бо це право ізраїлеві, Закон Бога Якова!

For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.

5 ( 81-6) На свідчення в Йосипі Він учинив його, як пішов був на землю єгипетську. Почув був там мову, якої не знав:

This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.

6 ( 81-7) Рамена його Я звільнив з тягару, від коша його руки звільнились.

I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.

7 ( 81-8) Ти був кликав у недолі, й я видер тебе, Я відповідаю тобі в укритті громовім, Я випробував був тебе над водою Мериви. Села.

Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

8 ( 81-9) Слухай же ти, Мій народе, і хай Я засвідчу тобі, о ізраїлю, коли б ти послухав Мене:

Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;

9 ( 81-10) нехай бога чужого у тебе не буде, і не кланяйся богу сторонньому!

there shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.

10 ( 81-11) Я Господь, Бог твій, що з краю єгипетського тебе вивів, відчини свої уста і Я їх наповню!

I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

11 ( 81-12) Але Мій народ не послухався був Мого голосу, не згодився зо Мною ізраїль,

But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.

12 ( 81-13) і Я їх пустив ради впертости їхнього серця, нехай вони йдуть за своїми порадами!

So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

13 ( 81-14) Коли б Мій народ був послухав Мене, коли б був ізраїль ходив по дорогах Моїх,

Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!

14 ( 81-15) ще мало і Я похилив би був їхніх ворогів, і руку Свою повернув би був Я на противників їхніх!

I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.

15 ( 81-16) Ненависники Господа йому б покорились, і був би навіки їхній час,

The haters of the Lord should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.

16 ( 81-17) і Я жиром пшениці його годував би, і медом із скелі тебе б насищав!

He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.
