1 U nd nun spricht der HERR, der dich geschaffen hat, Jakob, und dich gemacht hat, Israel: Fürchte dich nicht, denn ich habe dich erlöst; ich habe dich bei deinem Namen gerufen; du bist mein!

But now the Lord Who made you, O Jacob, and He Who made you, O Israel, says, “Do not be afraid. For I have bought you and made you free. I have called you by name. You are Mine!

2 D enn so du durch Wasser gehst, will ich bei dir sein, daß dich die Ströme nicht sollen ersäufen; und so du ins Feuer gehst, sollst du nicht brennen, und die Flamme soll dich nicht versengen.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you. When you pass through the rivers, they will not flow over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned. The fire will not destroy you.

3 D enn ich bin der HERR, dein Gott, der Heilige in Israel, dein Heiland. Ich habe Ägypten für dich als Lösegeld gegeben, Mohren und Seba an deine Statt.

For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, Who saves you. I have given Egypt as pay for your life, and have traded Cush and Seba for you.

4 W eil du so wert bist vor meinen Augen geachtet, mußt du auch herrlich sein, und ich habe dich lieb; darum gebe ich Menschen an deine Statt und Völker für deine Seele.

You are of great worth in My eyes. You are honored and I love you. I will give other men in your place. I will trade other people for your life.

5 S o fürchte dich nun nicht; denn ich bin bei dir. Ich will vom Morgen deinen Samen bringen und will dich vom Abend sammeln

Do not fear, for I am with you. I will bring your children from the east, and I will gather you from the west.

6 u nd will sagen gegen Mitternacht: Gib her! und gegen Mittag: Wehre nicht! Bringe meine Söhne von ferneher und meine Töchter von der Welt Ende,

I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’ Bring My sons from far away, and My daughters from the ends of the earth.

7 a lle, die mit meinem Namen genannt sind, die ich geschaffen habe zu meiner Herrlichkeit und zubereitet und gemacht.

Bring every one who is called by My name, for I have made him for My honor, yes, I made him.”

8 L aß hervortreten das blinde Volk, welches doch Augen hat, und die Tauben, die doch Ohren haben.

Bring out the people who are blind, even though they have eyes, and those who cannot hear, even though they have ears.

9 L aßt alle Heiden zusammenkommen zuhauf und sich die Völker versammeln. Wer ist unter ihnen, der solches verkündigen möge und uns hören lasse, was zuvor geweissagt ist? Laßt sie ihre Zeugen darstellen und beweisen, so wird man's hören und sagen; Es ist die Wahrheit.

All the nations have gathered together so the people may be together. Who among them can make this known, and tell us what has happened before? Let them bring people who can show us that they are right. Let them hear and say, “It is true.”

10 I hr aber seid meine Zeugen, spricht der HERR, und mein Knecht, den ich erwählt habe, auf daß ihr wisset und mir glaubt und versteht, das ich's bin. Vor mir ist kein Gott gemacht, so wird auch nach mir keiner sein.

“You can speak for Me,” says the Lord. “You are My servant whom I have chosen so that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. No God was made before Me, and there will be none after Me.

11 I ch, ich bin der HERR, und ist außer mir kein Heiland.

I, even I, am the Lord. There is no one who saves except Me.

12 I ch habe es verkündigt und habe auch geholfen und habe es euch sagen lassen, und war kein fremder Gott unter euch. Ihr seid meine Zeugen, spricht der HERR; so bin ich euer Gott.

I have spoken and saved and have made things known, and there was no strange god among you. You can speak for Me,” says the Lord, “and I am God.

13 A uch bin ich, ehe denn ein Tag war, und ist niemand, der aus meiner Hand erretten kann. Ich wirke; wer will's abwenden?

I am God and always will be. No one is able to take anything out of My hand. I do something, and who can change it?” God’s Loving-Kindness—Israel Not Faithful

14 S o spricht der HERR, euer Erlöser, der Heilige in Israel: Um euretwillen habe ich gen Babel geschickt und habe alle Flüchtigen hinuntergetrieben und die klagenden Chaldäer in ihre Schiffe gejagt.

The Lord Who bought you and sets you free, the Holy One of Israel, says, “Because of you I have sent to Babylon, and will bring down all their leaders, even the Babylonians, into the ships in which they find joy.

15 I ch bin der HERR, euer Heiliger, der ich Israel geschaffen habe, euer König.

I am the Lord, your Holy One, the Maker of Israel, your King.”

16 S o spricht der HERR, der im Meer Weg und in starken Wassern Bahn macht,

This is what the Lord says, Who makes a way through the sea and a path through the powerful waters,

17 d er ausziehen läßt Wagen und Roß, Heer und Macht, daß sie auf einem Haufen daliegen und nicht aufstehen, daß sie verlöschen, wie ein Docht verlischt:

Who brings out the war-wagon and the horse, the army and the strong man, (They will lie down together and will not rise again. They are destroyed, put out like the fire of a little light):

18 G edenkt nicht an das Alte und achtet nicht auf das Vorige!

“Do not remember the things that have happened before. Do not think about the things of the past.

19 D enn siehe, ich will ein Neues machen; jetzt soll es aufwachsen, und ihr werdet's erfahren, daß ich Weg in der Wüste mache und Wasserströme in der Einöde,

See, I will do a new thing. It will begin happening now. Will you not know about it? I will even make a road in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

20 d aß mich das Tier auf dem Felde preise, die Schakale und Strauße. Denn ich will Wasser in der Wüste und Ströme in der Einöde geben, zu tränken mein Volk, meine Auserwählten.

The wild animals will honor Me, the wild dogs and the ostriches. For I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My chosen people.

21 D ies Volk habe ich mir zugerichtet; es soll meinen Ruhm erzählen.

The people whom I made for Myself will make known My praise.

22 N icht, daß du mich hättest gerufen, Jakob, oder daß du um mich gearbeitet hättest, Israel.

“Yet you have not called on Me, O Jacob! You have become tired of Me, O Israel!

23 M ir hast du nicht gebracht Schafe deines Brandopfers noch mich geehrt mit deinen Opfern; mich hat deines Dienstes nicht gelüstet im Speisopfer, habe auch nicht Lust an deiner Arbeit im Weihrauch;

You have not brought the sheep of your burnt gifts to Me in worship. You have not honored Me with your gifts on the altar. I have not made you bring gifts or special perfume to Me.

24 m ir hast du nicht um Geld Kalmus gekauft; mich hast du mit dem Fett deiner Opfer nicht gesättigt. Ja, mir hast du Arbeit gemacht mit deinen Sünden und hast mir Mühe gemacht mit deinen Missetaten.

You have not bought Me any sweet smelling plants with money. And you have not given Me the fat of your gifts on the altar. Instead you have put the weight of your sins upon Me. You have made Me tired with your wrong-doing.

25 I ch, ich tilge deine Übertretungen um meinetwillen und gedenke deiner Sünden nicht.

“I, even I, am the One Who takes away your sins because of Who I am. And I will not remember your sins.

26 E rinnere mich; laß uns miteinander rechten; sage an, wie du gerecht willst sein.

Make Me remember, and let us talk together. Make your cause known, that you may be shown not to be guilty.

27 D eine Voreltern haben gesündigt, und deine Lehrer haben wider mich mißgehandelt.

Your first father sinned, and those who have spoken for you have sinned against Me.

28 D arum habe ich die Fürsten des Heiligtums entheiligt und habe Jakob zum Bann gemacht und Israel zum Hohn.

So I will make unclean the leaders of the holy place. I will give Jacob over to be destroyed, and Israel to sharp words of shame.
