1 A nd God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.

God made good come to Noah and his sons, and said to them, “Have many children, and cover the earth.

2 A nd let the fear of you and the dread of you be upon every animal of the earth, and upon all fowl of the heavens: upon all that moveth the ground; and upon all the fishes of the sea: into your hand are they delivered.

Every animal of the earth, every bird of the sky, everything that moves on the ground, and all the fish of the sea will be afraid of you. They are given into your hand.

3 E very moving thing that liveth shall be food for you: as the green herb I give you everything.

Every moving thing that lives will be food for you. I give all to you as I gave you the green plants.

4 O nly, the flesh with its life, its blood, ye shall not eat.

But you must not eat meat with blood in it because that is its life.

5 A nd indeed your blood, of your lives, will I require: at the hand of every animal will I require it, and at the hand of Man, at the hand of each of his brother, will I require the life of Man.

For sure, I will take the life of every animal and every person for taking a life. I will punish every man’s brother for taking the life of man.

6 W hoso sheddeth Man's blood, by Man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God he hath made Man.

Whoever takes the life of a man will have his life taken. For God made man to be like Him.

7 A nd ye, be fruitful and multiply: swarm on the earth, and multiply on it.

As for you, have many children. Cover the earth with many people.”

8 A nd God spoke to Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,

Then God said to Noah and his sons,

9 A nd I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;

“See, I make My agreement with you, and with your children after you,

10 a nd with every living soul which is with you, fowl as well as cattle, and all the animals of the earth with you, of all that has gone out of the ark—every animal of the earth.

and with every living thing that is with you, the birds, the cattle, and every animal of the earth, of all that came out of the large boat, every living thing on earth.

11 A nd I establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood, and henceforth there shall be no flood to destroy the earth.

I make My agreement with you, that never again will all flesh be destroyed by the water of a flood. There will never again be a flood to destroy the earth.”

12 A nd God said, This is the sign of the covenant that I set between me and you and every living soul that is with you, for everlasting generations:

Then God said, “This is something special to see for all time, because of the agreement that I am making between Me and you and every living thing that is with you:

13 I set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be for a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.

I will set My rain-bow in the cloud, and it will be something special to see because of an agreement between Me and the earth.

14 A nd it shall come to pass when I bring clouds over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud,

When I bring clouds over the earth and the rain-bow is seen in the clouds,

15 a nd I will remember my covenant which is between me and you and every living soul of all flesh; and the waters shall not henceforth become a flood to destroy all flesh.

I will remember My agreement that is between Me and you and every living thing of all flesh. Never again will the water become a flood to destroy all flesh.

16 A nd the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living soul of all flesh that is upon the earth.

When the rain-bow is in the cloud, I will look upon it to remember the agreement that will last forever between God and every living thing of all flesh that is on the earth.”

17 A nd God said to Noah, This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

God said to Noah, “This is the special thing to see because of the agreement I have made between Me and all flesh upon the earth.” Noah and His Sons

18 A nd the sons of Noah who went out of the ark were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth. And Ham is the father of Canaan.

The sons of Noah who came out of the large boat were Shem, Ham and Japheth. Ham was the father of Canaan.

19 T hese three are the sons of Noah; and from these was the whole earth spread abroad.

These three were the sons of Noah. And all the people of the earth came from them.

20 A nd Noah began a husbandman, and planted a vineyard.

Then Noah became a farmer and planted a grape-field.

21 A nd he drank of the wine, and was drunken, and he uncovered himself in his tent.

And he drank of the wine, and drank too much, and lay without covering himself in his tent.

22 A nd Ham the father of Canaan saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren outside.

Then Ham, the father of Canaan, saw that his father was without clothes. And he told his two brothers outside.

23 A nd Shem and Japheth took the upper garment and both laid upon their shoulders, and went backwards, and covered the nakedness of their father. And their faces were turned away, that they saw not their father's nakedness.

But Shem and Japheth took a coat and laid it upon their shoulders and walked in with their backs toward their father and covered him. Their faces were turned away, so that they did not see their father without clothes.

24 A nd Noah awoke from his wine, and learned what his youngest son had done to him.

When Noah awoke from his wine, he knew what his youngest son had done to him.

25 A nd he said, Cursed be Canaan; Let him be a bondman of bondmen to his brethren.

So he said, “May Canaan be cursed! He will be a servant of servants to his brothers.”

26 A nd he said, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Shem, And let Canaan be his bondman.

He also said, “Honor and thanks be to the Lord, the God of Shem. Let Canaan be his servant.

27 L et God enlarge Japheth, and let him dwell in the tents of Shem, And let Canaan be his bondman.

May God make Japheth great. Let him live in the tents of Shem. And let Canaan be his servants.”

28 A nd Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years.

Noah lived 350 years after the flood.

29 A nd all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years; and he died.

So Noah lived 950 years, and he died.
