1 A nd it came to pass on the day that Moses had completed the setting up of the tabernacle, and had anointed it, and hallowed it, and all the furniture thereof, and the altar and all its utensils, and had anointed them, and hallowed them,

Moses finished putting up the meeting tent. On that day he put oil on it and made it holy, with the things inside, the altar and all its objects. He put oil on them and made them holy.

2 t hat the princes of Israel, the heads of their fathers' houses, the princes of the tribes, they that were over them that had been numbered, offered;

Then the leaders of Israel, the heads of their fathers’ houses, brought their gifts. They were the leaders of the families, the heads of those who were numbered.

3 a nd they brought their offering before Jehovah, six covered waggons, and twelve oxen; a waggon for two princes, and an ox for each; and they presented them before the tabernacle.

As gifts to the Lord they brought six covered wagons and twelve bulls, a wagon for every two of the leaders and a bull for each one. Then they gave them in front of the meeting tent.

4 A nd Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

The Lord said to Moses,

5 T ake it of them, and they shall be for the performance of the service of the tent of meeting, and thou shalt give them unto the Levites, to each according to his service.

“Receive these things from them, that they may be used in the work of the meeting tent. Give them to the Levites, to each man for the work he does.”

6 A nd Moses took the waggons and the oxen, and gave them to the Levites.

So Moses took the wagons and the bulls, and gave them to the Levites.

7 T wo waggons and four oxen he gave to the sons of Gershon, according to their service;

He gave two wagons and four bulls to the sons of Gershon, for the work they were doing.

8 a nd four waggons and eight oxen he gave to the sons of Merari, according to their service,—under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

He gave four wagons and eight bulls to the sons of Merari, for the work they were doing under the leading of Ithamar the son of Aaron the religious leader.

9 B ut unto the sons of Kohath he gave none, for the service of the sanctuary was upon them: they bore upon the shoulder.

But Moses did not give any to the sons of Kohath. They had the duty of taking care of the holy objects which had to be carried on their shoulders.

10 A nd the princes presented the dedication-gift of the altar on the day that it was anointed; and the princes presented their offering before the altar.

The leaders gave gifts to set apart the altar on the day the oil was poured on it. They gave their gifts in front of the altar.

11 A nd Jehovah said to Moses, They shall present their offering for the dedication of the altar, each prince on his day.

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Let one leader each day give the gifts to set apart the altar.”

12 A nd he that presented his offering the first day was Nahshon the son of Amminadab, of the tribe of Judah.

The one who gave his gift on the first day was Nahshon the son of Amminadab, of the family of Judah.

13 A nd his offering was one silver dish of the weight of a hundred and thirty, one silver bowl, of seventy shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mingled with oil for an oblation;

His gift was one silver dish that weighed as much as 130 pieces of silver, and one silver dish that weighed as much as seventy pieces of silver. They were weighed by the weight of silver agreed upon for the meeting tent. Both of them were full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain gift.

14 o ne cup of ten of gold, full of incense;

And he gave one gold dish weighing as much as ten pieces of silver, full of special perfume.

15 o ne young bullock, one ram, one yearling lamb, for a burnt-offering;

He gave one bull, one ram, and one male lamb one year old, for a burnt gift in worship.

16 o ne buck of the goats for a sin-offering;

He gave one male goat for a sin gift.

17 a nd for a sacrifice of peace-offering, two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five yearling lambs. This was the offering of Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

For the peace gifts he gave two bulls, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs one year old. This was the gift given by Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

18 O n the second day offered Nethaneel the son of Zuar, prince of Issachar;

On the second day Nethanel the son of Zuar, leader of Issachar, gave a gift in worship.

19 h e presented his offering; one silver dish of the weight of a hundred and thirty, one silver bowl of seventy shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour, mingled with oil for an oblation;

23 a nd for a sacrifice of peace-offering, two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five yearling lambs. This was the offering of Nethaneel the son of Zuar.

For the peace gifts he gave two bulls, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs one year old. This was the gift of Nethanel the son of Zuar.

24 O n the third day, the prince of the children of Zebulun, Eliab the son of Helon:

On the third day it was Eliab the son of Helon, leader of the sons of Zebulun.

30 O n the fourth day, the prince of the children of Reuben, Elizur the son of Shedeur.

On the fourth day it was Elizur the son of Shedeur, leader of the sons of Reuben.

36 O n the fifth day, the prince of the children of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.

On the fifth day it was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai, the leader of the sons of Simeon.

42 O n the sixth day, the prince of the children of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Deuel.

On the sixth day it was Eliasaph the son of Deuel, the leader of the sons of Gad.

48 O n the seventh day, the prince of the children of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud.

54 O n the eighth day, the prince of the children of Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

On the eighth day it was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur, the leader of the sons of Manasseh.

55 H is offering was one silver dish of the weight of a hundred and thirty, one silver bowl of seventy shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mingled with oil for an oblation;

60 O n the ninth day, the prince of the children of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni.

On the ninth day it was Abidan the son of Gideoni, the leader of the sons of Benjamin.

78 O n the twelfth day, the prince of the children of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.

On the twelfth day it was Ahira the son of Enan, the leader of the sons of Naphtali.

79 H is offering was one silver dish of the weight of a hundred and thirty, one silver bowl of seventy shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mingled with oil for an oblation;

For the peace gifts he gave two bulls, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs one year old. This was the gift of Ahira the son of Enan.

84 T his was the dedication-gift of the altar, on the day when it was anointed, from the princes of Israel: twelve silver dishes, twelve silver bowls, twelve cups of gold:

This was the gift to set apart the altar on the day the oil was poured on it. The leaders of Israel gave twelve silver dishes, twelve deep dishes made of silver, and twelve gold dishes.

85 e ach silver dish of a hundred and thirty, and each bowl seventy: all the silver of the vessels was two thousand four hundred according to the shekel of the sanctuary;

Each silver dish weighed as much as 130 pieces of silver. Each deep dish weighed as much as seventy pieces of silver. All the silver of the dishes weighed as much as 2, 400 pieces of silver. They were weighed by the weight of silver agreed upon for the meeting tent.

86 t welve golden cups full of incense, each cup of ten, according to the shekel of the sanctuary: all the gold of the cups, a hundred and twenty.

The twelve gold dishes full of special perfume each weighed as much as ten pieces of silver. They were weighed by the weight of silver agreed upon for the meeting tent. All the gold of the dishes weighed as much as 120 pieces of silver.

87 A ll the cattle for the burnt-offering was: twelve bullocks, twelve rams, twelve yearling lambs and their oblation; and twelve bucks of the goats for a sin-offering.

All the animals given for the burnt gift were twelve bulls, twelve rams, and twelve male lambs one year old with their grain gifts. Twelve male goats were given for a sin gift.

88 A nd all the cattle for the sacrifice of the peace-offering was: twenty-four bullocks, sixty rams, sixty he-goats, sixty yearling lambs. This was the dedication-gift of the altar, after it had been anointed.

All the animals given for the peace gifts were twenty-four bulls, sixty rams, sixty male goats, and sixty male lambs one year old. This was the gift to set apart the altar after the oil was poured on it.

89 A nd when Moses went into the tent of meeting to speak with Him, then he heard the voice speaking to him from off the mercy-seat which was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two cherubim; and he spoke to Him.

Moses went into the meeting tent to speak with the Lord. And he heard the voice speaking to him from above the mercy-seat that was on the special box with the Law, between the two cherubim. So the Lord spoke to him.
