1 A nd this is the thing which thou shalt do to them to hallow them, that they may serve me as priests: take one young bullock, and two rams without blemish,

“This is what you will do to set them apart to serve as religious leaders for Me. Take one young bull and two rams that are perfect.

2 a nd unleavened bread, and unleavened cakes mingled with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil—of wheaten flour shalt thou make them.

Have bread without yeast, and bread mixed with oil, and hard bread made without yeast and spread with oil. Make them of fine grain flour.

3 A nd thou shalt put them into one basket, and present them in the basket, with the bullock and the two rams.

Put them in one basket. Then bring them in the basket with the bull and the two rams.

4 A nd Aaron and his sons thou shalt bring near the entrance of the tent of meeting, and shalt bathe them with water.

Bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the meeting tent, and wash them with water.

5 A nd thou shalt take the garments, and clothe Aaron with the vest, and the cloak of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastplate, and shalt gird him with the girdle of the ephod.

Take the clothing and dress Aaron in the long coat, the clothing over the linen vest, the linen vest, and the breast-piece. Put on him the well-made belt of the linen vest.

6 A nd thou shalt put the turban upon his head, and fasten the holy diadem to the turban,

Put the covering on his head, and the holy crown on the head covering.

7 a nd shalt take the anointing oil, and pour on his head, and anoint him.

Then take the oil for holy use and pour it on his head to set him apart for My work.

8 A nd thou shalt bring his sons near, and clothe them with the vests.

Bring his sons and dress them with long coats.

9 A nd thou shalt gird them with the girdle—Aaron and his sons, and bind the high caps on them; and the priesthood shall be theirs for an everlasting statute; and thou shalt consecrate Aaron and his sons.

Put belts on Aaron and his sons. Tie head coverings on them. And they will be religious leaders by law for all time. So you will set apart Aaron and his sons for My work.

10 A nd thou shalt present the bullock before the tent of meeting; and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands upon the head of the bullock;

“Then bring the bull in front of the meeting tent. Aaron and his sons will lay their hands on the head of the bull.

11 a nd thou shalt slaughter the bullock before Jehovah, at the entrance of the tent of meeting;

Then kill the bull before the Lord at the door of the meeting tent.

12 a nd thou shalt take of the blood of the bullock, and put it on the horns of the altar with thy finger, and shalt pour all the blood at the bottom of the altar.

Take some of the blood of the bull and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger. Then pour out all the blood at the base of the altar.

13 A nd thou shalt take all the fat that covereth the inwards, and the net of the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and burn them upon the altar.

Take all the fat that covers the inside parts, and the part that is on the liver, and the two kidneys with the fat that is on them, and burn them on the altar.

14 A nd the flesh of the bullock, and its skin, and its dung, shalt thou burn with fire outside the camp: it is a sin-offering.

But the flesh of the bull, its skin, and its waste you will burn away from the tents. It is a sin gift.

15 A nd thou shalt take one of the rams, and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram;

“Then take one of the rams and have Aaron and his sons lay their hands on the head of the ram.

16 a nd thou shalt slaughter the ram, and shalt take its blood, and sprinkle on the altar round about.

Kill the ram and take its blood and put it around the altar.

17 A nd thou shalt cut up the ram into its pieces, and wash its inwards, and its legs, and put upon its pieces, and upon its head;

Cut the ram into pieces. Wash its inside parts and its legs. And put them with its pieces and its head.

18 a nd thou shalt burn the whole ram upon the altar: it is a burnt-offering to Jehovah—a sweet odour; it is an offering by fire to Jehovah.

Burn the whole ram on the altar for a burnt gift in worship to the Lord. It is a pleasing smell, a gift by fire to the Lord.

19 A nd thou shalt take the second ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands upon the head of the ram;

“Then take the other ram and have Aaron and his sons lay their hands on the ram’s head.

20 a nd thou shalt slaughter the ram, and take of its blood, and put on the tip of the ear of Aaron, and on the tip of the right ear of his sons, and on the thumb of their right hand, and on the great toe of their right foot; and thou shalt sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.

Kill the ram and put some of its blood on the bottom of Aaron’s right ear, on the bottom of his sons’ right ears, on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the big toes of their right feet. Put the rest of the blood around the altar.

21 A nd thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle on Aaron, and on his garments, and on his sons, and on the garments of his sons with him; and he shall be hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.

Take some of the blood from the altar and some of the special oil. Put some on Aaron and his sons and their clothing. So Aaron and his clothing and his sons and their clothing will be set apart and made holy.

22 A lso of the ram shalt thou take the fat, and the fat-tail, and the fat that covereth the inwards, and the net of the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and the right shoulder—for it is a ram of consecration—

Take the fat from the ram, the fat tail, the fat that covers the inside parts, the part that is on the liver, the two kidneys with their fat, and the fat that is on the right thigh. For it is a ram used to set apart those who work for Me.

23 a nd one loaf of bread, and one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer out of the basket of the unleavened that is before Jehovah;

And take one loaf of bread, and one loaf of bread mixed with oil, and one piece of hard bread from the basket of bread without yeast that is set before the Lord.

24 a nd thou shalt put all this in the hands of Aaron, and in the hands of his sons, and shalt wave them as a wave-offering before Jehovah.

Put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons. They will wave them for a wave gift before the Lord.

25 A nd thou shalt receive them of their hand and burn upon the altar over the burnt-offering, for a sweet odour before Jehovah: it is an offering by fire to Jehovah.

Then take them from their hands and burn them on the altar for a burnt gift in worship. It is a pleasing smell before the Lord. It is a gift by fire to the Lord.

26 A nd thou shalt take the breast of the ram of consecration which is for Aaron, and wave it as a wave-offering before Jehovah; and it shall be thy part.

“Take the breast of Aaron’s ram used to set him apart. Wave it as a wave gift before the Lord. And it will be your share.

27 A nd thou shalt hallow the breast of the wave-offering, and the shoulder of the heave-offering, that hath been waved and heaved up, of the ram of the consecration, of that which is for Aaron, and of which is for his sons.

Then set apart the breast of the wave gift and the thigh that was waved and given from the ram used to set apart those who work for Me. One was for Aaron and one for his sons.

28 A nd they shall be for Aaron and his sons, as an everlasting statute, on the part of the children of Israel; for it is a heave-offering; and it shall be a heave-offering on the part of the children of Israel of the sacrifices of their peace-offerings, their heave-offering to Jehovah.

It will be for Aaron and his sons as their share forever from the people of Israel. For it is the religious leaders’ share to be given by the people of Israel from their peace gifts. It is their gift to the Lord.

29 A nd the holy garments of Aaron shall be his sons' after him, to be anointed therein, and to be consecrated in them.

“The holy clothing of Aaron will be for his sons after him. They will wear them when the oil for holy use is poured on them and they are set apart for My work.

30 T he son that is priest in his stead shall put them on seven days, when he cometh into the tent of meeting to serve in the sanctuary.

The son who takes his place as religious leader will wear them seven days as he goes into the meeting tent to serve in the holy place.

31 A nd thou shalt take the ram of the consecration, and boil its flesh in a holy place.

“Take the ram used to set apart those who work for Me and boil its flesh in a holy place.

32 A nd Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket, at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

Aaron and his sons will eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket, at the door of the meeting tent.

33 T hey shall eat the things with which the atonement was made, to consecrate to hallow them; but a stranger shall not eat, for they are holy.

They will eat those things that were used in worship when they were forgiven of their sin and when they were set apart for My work. But one who is not a religious leader may not eat them, because they are holy.

34 A nd if of the flesh of the consecration, and of the bread, remain until the morning, then thou shalt burn the remainder with fire: it shall not be eaten, for it is holy.

If any of the meat or bread used to set apart those who work for Me is left until morning, it must be burned. It must not be eaten, because it is holy.

35 A nd thus shalt thou do to Aaron, and to his sons, according to all that I have commanded thee: seven days shalt thou consecrate them.

“Do to Aaron and his sons all I have told you. For seven days you will set them apart for My work.

36 A nd thou shalt offer every day a bullock as a sin-offering for atonement; and the altar shalt thou cleanse from sin, by making atonement for it, and shalt anoint it, to hallow it.

Give a bull each day for a sin gift, to take away sin. Make the altar clean by taking sin away from it and pour special oil on it to set it apart for Me.

37 S even days shalt thou make atonement for the altar and hallow it; and the altar shall be most holy: whatever toucheth the altar shall be holy.

For seven days give gifts upon the altar to take away sin and set it apart for Me. Then the altar will be most holy. And whatever touches the altar will be holy. The Gifts Given Each Day

38 A nd this is what thou shalt offer upon the altar—two lambs of the first year, day by day continually.

“Now this is what you will give on the altar: Two lambs one year old, given every day.

39 T he one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou shalt offer between the two evenings.

Give one lamb in the morning, and the other lamb in the evening.

40 A nd with the one lamb a tenth part of wheaten flour mingled with beaten oil, a fourth part of a hin; and a drink-offering, a fourth part of a hin of wine.

With the first lamb give a jar of fine flour mixed with a half jar of beaten oil, and a half jar of wine to be poured out.

41 A nd the second lamb shalt thou offer between the two evenings; as the oblation in the morning, and as its drink-offering shalt thou offer with this, for a sweet odour, an offering by fire to Jehovah.

Give the other lamb in the evening. Do it with a grain gift and a gift to pour out as in the morning. It has a pleasing smell, a gift by fire to the Lord.

42 I t shall be a continual burnt-offering throughout your generations at the entrance of the tent of meeting before Jehovah, where I will meet with you, to speak there with thee.

For all time to come this burnt gift is to be given at the door of the meeting tent before the Lord. There I will meet with you and speak to you.

43 A nd there will I meet with the children of Israel; and it shall be hallowed by my glory.

I will meet there with the people of Israel. It will be set apart by My shining-greatness.

44 A nd I will hallow the tent of meeting, and the altar; and I will hallow Aaron and his sons, that they may serve me as priests.

I will set apart the meeting tent and the altar. And I will set apart Aaron and his sons to work as religious leaders for Me.

45 A nd I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel, and will be their God.

I will live among the people of Israel and will be their God.

46 A nd they shall know that I am Jehovah their God, who have brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, to dwell in their midst: I am Jehovah their God.

They will know that I am the Lord their God, Who brought them out of the land of Egypt to live among them. I am the Lord their God.
