1 A nd it came to pass on the eighth day, Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel,

On the eighth day Moses called Aaron and his sons and the leaders of Israel.

2 a nd said to Aaron, Take thee a young calf for a sin-offering, and a ram for a burnt-offering, without blemish, and present before Jehovah;

He said to Aaron, “Take a bull calf for a sin gift and a ram for a burnt gift, both of them perfect. And give them to the Lord.

3 a nd to the children of Israel shalt thou speak, saying, Take a buck of the goats for a sin-offering, and a calf and a lamb, yearlings, without blemish, for a burnt-offering;

Then say to the people of Israel, ‘Take a male goat for a sin gift, and a calf and a lamb, both a year old and perfect, for a burnt gift,

4 a nd a bullock and a ram for a peace-offering, to sacrifice before Jehovah; and an oblation mingled with oil; for to-day Jehovah will appear to you.

and a bull and a ram for peace gifts. Give them to the Lord with a grain gift mixed with oil. For today the Lord will show Himself to you.’”

5 A nd they brought what Moses commanded before the tent of meeting; and all the assembly approached and stood before Jehovah.

So they brought to the front of the meeting tent what Moses had told them. All the people came near and stood before the Lord.

6 A nd Moses said, This is the thing which Jehovah has commanded that ye should do; and the glory of Jehovah shall appear to you.

Moses said, “This is what the Lord has told you to do. And the shining-greatness of the Lord will be shown to you.”

7 A nd Moses said unto Aaron, Go to the altar, and offer thy sin-offering, and thy burnt-offering, and make atonement for thyself, and for the people; and offer the offering of the people, and make atonement for them, as Jehovah has commanded.

Then Moses said to Aaron, “Come to the altar and give your sin gift and burnt gift to pay for the sins of yourself and for the people. Then give the gift for the people, to pay for their sins, just as the Lord has said.”

8 A nd Aaron went to the altar and slaughtered the calf of the sin-offering which was for himself;

So Aaron came to the altar and killed the calf of the sin gift, which was for himself.

9 a nd the sons of Aaron presented the blood to him, and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put on the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the bottom of the altar.

The sons of Aaron gave the blood to him. He put his finger in the blood and put some on the horns of the altar. He poured out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.

10 A nd the fat, and the kidneys, and the net above the liver, of the sin-offering, he burned on the altar, as Jehovah had commanded Moses.

But he burned on the altar the fat and the kidneys and the part that is on the liver from the sin gift, just as the Lord had told Moses.

11 A nd the flesh and the skin he burned with fire outside the camp.

He burned the flesh and the skin away from the tents.

12 A nd he slaughtered the burnt-offering; and Aaron's sons delivered to him the blood, which he sprinkled on the altar round about.

Then he killed the burnt gift. Aaron’s sons handed the blood to him and he put it around on the altar.

13 A nd they delivered the burnt-offering to him, in the pieces thereof, and the head; and he burned on the altar.

They gave the burnt gift to him in pieces, with the head. And he burned them on the altar.

14 A nd he washed the inwards and the legs, and burned upon the burnt-offering, on the altar.

He washed the inside parts and legs and burned them on the altar with the burnt gift.

15 A nd he presented the people's offering, and took the goat of the sin-offering which was for the people and slaughtered it, and offered it for sin, as the first.

Then he gave the people’s gift. He took the goat of the sin gift which was for the people. And he killed it and gave it for sin, like the first sin gift.

16 A nd he presented the burnt-offering and offered it according to the ordinance.

He gave the burnt gift. He gave it just the way the Law said.

17 A nd he presented the oblation, and took a handful of it, and burned it on the altar, besides the burnt-offering of the morning.

Next he gave the grain gift. He filled his hand with some of the grain and burned it on the altar beside the burnt gift of the morning.

18 A nd he slaughtered the bullock and the ram of the sacrifice of peace-offering which was for the people. And Aaron's sons delivered to him the blood, and he sprinkled it on the altar round about;

Then he killed the bull and the ram, the peace gifts which were for the people. Aaron’s sons handed the blood to him and he put it around on the altar.

19 a nd the pieces of fat of the bullock and of the ram, the fat tail and what covers, and the kidneys, and the net of the liver;

The fat parts from the bull and ram, the fat tail, the fat around the inside parts, the kidneys and the part that is on the liver,

20 a nd they put the pieces of fat on the breast-pieces, and he burned the pieces of fat on the altar;

all the fat parts they put on the breasts. And they burned the fat parts on the altar.

21 a nd the breast-pieces and the right shoulder Aaron waved as a wave-offering before Jehovah, as Moses had commanded.

But Aaron gave the breasts and the right thigh as a wave gift before the Lord, just as Moses had said.

22 A nd Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them, and came down after the offering of the sin-offering, and the burnt-offering, and the peace-offering.

Then Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and prayed that good would come to them. After giving the sin gift, the burnt gift and the peace gifts, he came down.

23 A nd Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting, and came out and blessed the people; and the glory of Jehovah appeared to all the people.

Moses and Aaron went into the meeting tent. When they came out and prayed that good would come to the people, the shining-greatness of the Lord was shown to all the people.

24 A nd there went out fire from before Jehovah, and consumed on the altar the burnt-offering, and the pieces of fat; and all the people saw it, and they shouted, and fell on their face.

Then fire came from the Lord and burned up the burnt gift and the fat parts on the altar. When the people saw it, they cried out and bowed down with their faces to the ground.
