1 B lessed be Jehovah my rock, who teacheth my hands to war, my fingers to fight;
Praise and thanks be to the Lord, my rock. He makes my hands ready for war, and my fingers for battle.
2 M y mercy and my fortress, my high tower and my deliverer, my shield and he in whom I trust, who subdueth my people under me!
He is my loving-kindness and my walls of strength, my strong place and the One Who sets me free, my safe-covering and the One in Whom I trust. He brings my people under my rule.
3 J ehovah, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him, the son of man, that thou takest thought of him?
O Lord, what is man that You think of him, the son of man that You remember him?
4 M an is like to vanity; his days are as a shadow that passeth away.
Man is like a breath. His days are like a passing shadow.
5 J ehovah, bow thy heavens, and come down; touch the mountains, that they smoke;
O Lord, divide Your heavens and come down. Touch the mountains so they will smoke.
6 C ast forth lightnings, and scatter them; send forth thine arrows, and discomfit them:
Send out lightning and divide them. Send out Your arrows and trouble them.
7 S tretch out thy hands from above; rescue me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of aliens,
Put out Your hand from above. Take me out of trouble and away from the many waters, from the power of those from other lands.
8 W hose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
Their mouths speak lies. And their right hand is a right hand that is false.
9 O God, I will sing a new song unto thee; with the ten-stringed lute will I sing psalms unto thee:
I will sing a new song to You, O God. I will sing praises to You on a harp of ten strings.
10 W ho givest salvation unto kings; who rescuest David thy servant from the hurtful sword.
You save kings. You take Your servant David away from the sharp sword.
11 R escue me, and deliver me from the hand of aliens, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
Take me out of trouble and away from the power of those from other lands. Their mouths speak lies. And their right hand is a right hand that is false.
12 T hat our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; our daughters as corner-columns, sculptured after the fashion of a palace:
May our young sons be like plants that are full-grown. And may our daughters be like the corner pieces of a great house.
13 O ur granaries full, affording all manner of store; our sheep bringing forth thousands, ten thousands in our pastures;
May our store-houses be full of all kinds of food. And may our sheep grow by the thousands and ten thousands in our fields.
14 O ur kine laden; no breaking in and no going forth, and no outcry in our streets.
Let our cattle give birth without trouble and without loss. And may there be no cry of trouble in our streets.
15 B lessed the people that is in such a case! Blessed the people whose God is Jehovah!
Happy are the people who have all this. Yes, happy are the people whose God is the Lord!
