Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.

2 H ienieden auf Erden rufe ich zu dir, wenn mein Herz in Angst ist, du wollest mich führen auf einen hohen Felsen.

From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

3 D enn du bist meine Zuversicht, ein starker Turm vor meinen Feinden.

For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

4 L aß mich wohnen in deiner Hütte ewiglich und Zuflucht haben unter deinen Fittichen. (Sela.)

I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.

5 D enn du, Gott, hörst mein Gelübde; du belohnst die wohl, die deinen Namen fürchten.

For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.

6 D u wollest dem König langes Leben geben, daß seine Jahre währen immer für und für,

Thou wilt prolong the king’s life: and his years as many generations.

7 d aß er immer bleibe vor Gott. Erzeige ihm Güte und Treue, die ihn behüten.

He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.

8 S o will ich deinem Namen lobsingen ewiglich, daß ich meine Gelübde bezahle täglich.

So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.
