1 D enn das Gesetz hat den Schatten von den zukünftigen Gütern, nicht das Wesen der Güter selbst; alle Jahre muß man opfern immer einerlei Opfer, und es kann nicht, die da opfern, vollkommen machen;

For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

2 s onst hätte das Opfern aufgehört, wo die, so am Gottesdienst sind, kein Gewissen mehr hätten von den Sünden, wenn sie einmal gereinigt wären;

For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

3 s ondern es geschieht dadurch nur ein Gedächtnis der Sünden alle Jahre.

But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

4 D enn es ist unmöglich, durch Ochsen-und Bocksblut Sünden wegzunehmen.

For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

5 D arum, da er in die Welt kommt, spricht er: "Opfer und Gaben hast du nicht gewollt; den Leib aber hast du mir bereitet.

Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

6 B randopfer und Sündopfer gefallen dir nicht.

in burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

7 D a sprach ich: Siehe, ich komme (im Buch steht von mir geschrieben), daß ich tue, Gott, deinen Willen."

Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

8 N achdem er weiter oben gesagt hatte: "Opfer und Gaben, Brandopfer und Sündopfer hast du nicht gewollt, sie gefallen dir auch nicht" (welche nach dem Gesetz geopfert werden),

Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

9 d a sprach er: "Siehe, ich komme, zu tun, Gott, deinen Willen." Da hebt er das erste auf, daß er das andere einsetze.

then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

10 I n diesem Willen sind wir geheiligt auf einmal durch das Opfer des Leibes Jesu Christi.

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11 U nd ein jeglicher Priester ist eingesetzt, daß er täglich Gottesdienst pflege und oftmals einerlei Opfer tue, welche nimmermehr können die Sünden abnehmen.

And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

12 D ieser aber, da er hat ein Opfer für die Sünden geopfert, das ewiglich gilt, sitzt nun zur Rechten Gottes

but this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

13 u nd wartet hinfort, bis daß seine Feinde zum Schemel seiner Füße gelegt werden.

from henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

14 D enn mit einem Opfer hat er in Ewigkeit vollendet die geheiligt werden.

For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

15 E s bezeugt uns aber das auch der heilige Geist. Denn nachdem er zuvor gesagt hatte:

Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

16 D as ist das Testament, das ich ihnen machen will nach diesen Tagen", spricht der HERR: "Ich will mein Gesetz in ihr Herz geben, und in ihren Sinn will ich es schreiben,

This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

17 u nd ihrer Sünden und Ungerechtigkeit will ich nicht mehr gedenken."

and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

18 W o aber derselben Vergebung ist, da ist nicht mehr Opfer für die Sünde.

Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

19 S o wir denn nun haben, liebe Brüder, die Freudigkeit zum Eingang in das Heilige durch das Blut Jesu,

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

20 w elchen er uns bereitet hat zum neuen und lebendigen Wege durch den Vorhang, das ist durch sein Fleisch,

by a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

21 u nd haben einen Hohenpriester über das Haus Gottes:

and having an high priest over the house of God;

22 s o lasset uns hinzugehen mit wahrhaftigem Herzen in völligem Glauben, besprengt in unsern Herzen und los von dem bösen Gewissen und gewaschen am Leibe mit reinem Wasser;

let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

23 u nd lasset uns halten an dem Bekenntnis der Hoffnung und nicht wanken; denn er ist treu, der sie verheißen hat;

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

24 u nd lasset uns untereinander unser selbst wahrnehmen mit Reizen zur Liebe und guten Werken

and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

25 u nd nicht verlassen unsere Versammlung, wie etliche pflegen, sondern einander ermahnen; und das so viel mehr, soviel ihr sehet, daß sich der Tag naht.

not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

26 D enn so wir mutwillig sündigen, nachdem wir die Erkenntnis der Wahrheit empfangen haben, haben wir fürder kein anderes Opfer mehr für die Sünden,

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 s ondern ein schreckliches Warten des Gerichts und des Feuereifers, der die Widersacher verzehren wird.

but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28 W enn jemand das Gesetz Mose's bricht, der muß sterben ohne Barmherzigkeit durch zwei oder drei Zeugen.

He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29 W ie viel, meint ihr, ärgere Strafe wird der verdienen, der den Sohn Gottes mit Füßen tritt und das Blut des Testaments unrein achtet, durch welches er geheiligt ist, und den Geist der Gnade schmäht?

of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

30 D enn wir kennen den, der da sagte: "Die Rache ist mein, ich will vergelten", und abermals: "Der HERR wird sein Volk richten."

For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

31 S chrecklich ist's, in die Hände des lebendigen Gottes zu fallen.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

32 G edenket aber an die vorigen Tage, in welchen ihr, nachdem ihr erleuchtet wart, erduldet habt einen großen Kampf des Leidens

But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;

33 u nd zum Teil selbst durch Schmach und Trübsal ein Schauspiel wurdet, zum Teil Gemeinschaft hattet mit denen, welchen es also geht.

partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.

34 D enn ihr habt mit den Gebundenen Mitleiden gehabt und den Raub eurer Güter mit Freuden erduldet, als die ihr wisset, daß ihr bei euch selbst eine bessere und bleibende Habe im Himmel habt.

For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.

35 W erfet euer Vertrauen nicht weg, welches eine große Belohnung hat.

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

36 G eduld aber ist euch not, auf daß ihr den Willen Gottes tut und die Verheißung empfanget.

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

37 D enn "noch über eine kleine Weile, so wird kommen, der da kommen soll, und nicht verziehen.

For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

38 D er Gerechte aber wird des Glaubens leben, Wer aber weichen wird, an dem wird meine Seele keinen Gefallen haben."

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

39 W ir aber sind nicht von denen, die da weichen und verdammt werden, sondern von denen, die da glauben und die Seele erretten.

But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
