1 G ive ear to my words, Yahweh. Consider my meditation.

¶ Give ear to my words, O LORD; consider my meditation.

2 L isten to the voice of my cry, my King and my God; for to you do I pray.

Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God, for unto thee will I pray.

3 Y ahweh, in the morning you shall hear my voice. In the morning I will lay my requests before you, and will watch expectantly.

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; early will I present myself unto thee and wait.

4 F or you are not a God who has pleasure in wickedness. Evil can’t live with you.

For thou art not a God that loves wickedness; neither shall one who is evil dwell with thee.

5 T he arrogant shall not stand in your sight. You hate all workers of iniquity.

The foolish (those who are governed by carnal thoughts or desires) shall not stand in thy sight; thou dost hate all workers of iniquity.

6 Y ou will destroy those who speak lies. Yahweh abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

Thou shalt destroy those that speak lies: the LORD will abominate the bloody and deceitful man.

7 B ut as for me, in the abundance of your loving kindness I will come into your house. I will bow toward your holy temple in reverence of you.

¶ But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear I will worship toward thy holy temple.

8 L ead me, Yahweh, in your righteousness because of my enemies. Make your way straight before my face.

Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.

9 F or there is no faithfulness in their mouth. Their heart is destruction. Their throat is an open tomb. They flatter with their tongue.

For there is no uprightness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.

10 H old them guilty, God. Let them fall by their own counsels; Thrust them out in the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against you.

Declare them guilty, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out for the multitude of their rebellions; for they have rebelled against thee.

11 B ut let all those who take refuge in you rejoice, Let them always shout for joy, because you defend them. Let them also who love your name be joyful in you.

And all those that put their trust in thee shall rejoice: they shall ever be in jubilee, for thou shalt cover them; and all that love thy name shall be joyful in thee.

12 F or you will bless the righteous. Yahweh, you will surround him with favor as with a shield.

For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
