1 J ude, a servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to those who are called, sanctified by God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ:

¶ Jude, slave of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to those that are called, sanctified in God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ:

2 M ercy to you and peace and love be multiplied.

Mercy and peace and charity be multiplied unto you.

3 B eloved, while I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I was constrained to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

¶ Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you and exhort you that ye should earnestly persevere in the faith which was given once unto the saints.

4 F or there are certain men who crept in secretly, even those who were long ago written about for this condemnation: ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into indecency, and denying our only Master, God, and Lord, Jesus Christ.

For there are certain men crept in unawares without fear or reverence of God, who from beforehand have been ordained unto this condemnation, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness and denying God who alone has dominion, and our Lord Jesus, the Christ.

5 N ow I desire to remind you, though you already know this, that the Lord, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who didn’t believe.

I will, therefore, remind you, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those that did not believe.

6 A ngels who didn’t keep their first domain, but deserted their own dwelling place, he has kept in everlasting bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day.

And the angels who did not keep their first estate but left their own habitation, he has reserved in eternal chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

7 E ven as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them, having, in the same way as these, given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are shown as an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire.

Even as Sodom and Gomorrha and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication and going after strange flesh, were set forth for an example, having received the judgment of eternal fire.

8 Y et in the same way, these also in their dreaming defile the flesh, despise authority, and slander celestial beings.

¶ In the same manner these deceived dreamers, defile their flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of higher powers.

9 B ut Michael, the archangel, when contending with the devil and arguing about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him an abusive condemnation, but said, “May the Lord rebuke you!”

Yet when Michael, the archangel, contended with the devil, disputing over the body of Moses, he dared not bring against him a curse of judgment, but said, The Lord reprehend thee.

10 B ut these speak evil of whatever things they don’t know. They are destroyed in these things that they understand naturally, like the creatures without reason.

But these speak evil of those things which they do not know; but what they know by nature as animals without reason, in those things they corrupt themselves.

11 W oe to them! For they went in the way of Cain, and ran riotously in the error of Balaam for hire, and perished in Korah’s rebellion.

Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

12 T hese are hidden rocky reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you, shepherds who without fear feed themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn leaves without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

These are spots in your banquets of charity, feeding themselves without any fear whatsoever: clouds without water, carried to and fro of the winds; trees withered as in fall, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

13 w ild waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the blackness of darkness has been reserved forever.

raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own abominations; erratic stars, to whom is reserved gross darkness eternally.

14 A bout these also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord came with ten thousands of his holy ones,

And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his saints

15 t o execute judgment on all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their works of ungodliness which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”

¶ to execute judgment upon all and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have unfaithfully committed and of all the hard words which the unfaithful sinners have spoken against him.

16 T hese are murmurers and complainers, walking after their lusts (and their mouth speaks proud things), showing respect of persons to gain advantage.

These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own desires; and their mouth speaks arrogant things, admiring persons to take advantage.

17 B ut you, beloved, remember the words which have been spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.

But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ,

18 T hey said to you that “In the last time there will be mockers, walking after their own ungodly lusts.”

how that they told you, That in the last time there would be mockers, who would walk after their own ungodly desires.

19 T hese are they who cause divisions, and are sensual, not having the Spirit.

These are those who make divisions, and are as animals, not having the Spirit.

20 B ut you, beloved, keep building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.

But ye, beloved, building up yourselves upon your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

21 K eep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, unto eternal life,

22 O n some have compassion, making a distinction,

And receive some with mercy, discerning;

23 a nd some save, snatching them out of the fire with fear, hating even the clothing stained by the flesh.

And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.

24 N ow to him who is able to keep them from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory in great joy,

Now unto him that is powerful to keep you without sin and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

25 t o God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.

to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, now and in all the ages. Amen.
