1 M ôi-se đến giảng cho cả Y-sơ-ra-ên những bài sau nầy.

¶ And Moses went and spoke these words unto all Israel,

2 N gười nói: Ngày nay ta được một trăm hai mươi tuổi; không thể đi ra đi vào nữa; và Đức Giê-hô-va có phán cùng ta rằng: Ngươi không đi ngang qua sông Giô-đanh nầy đâu.

and he said unto them, I am one hundred and twenty years old today; I can no longer go out and come in; also the LORD has said unto me, Thou shalt not pass this Jordan.

3 G iê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời ngươi sẽ đi đầu ngươi. Ngài sẽ diệt các dân tộc ở đằng trước ngươi, và ngươi sẽ nhận được xứ chúng nó; Giô-suê sẽ đi trước ngươi, y như Đức Giê-hô-va đã phán dặn.

The LORD thy God, he will pass in front of thee, and he will destroy these Gentiles from before thee, and thou shalt inherit them; Joshua shall be the one who shall pass before thee, as the LORD has said.

4 Đ ức Giê-hô-va sẽ đãi chúng nó như Ngài đã đãi Si-hôn và O

And the LORD shall do unto them as he did to Sihon and to Og, kings of the Amorites, and unto the land of them whom he destroyed.

5 Đ ức Giê-hô-va sẽ phó chúng nó cho các ngươi, và các ngươi phải đãi chúng nó tùy theo lịnh ta đã truyền cho.

And the LORD shall give them up before your face that ye may do unto them according unto all the commandments which I have commanded you.

6 H ãy vững lòng bền chí; chớ sợ chi và chớ kinh khủng trước mặt các dân đó; vì Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời ngươi đi cùng ngươi; Ngài chẳng lìa khỏi ngươi, chẳng từ bỏ ngươi đâu.

Be strong and of a good courage; fear not, nor be afraid of them, for the LORD thy God is he that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee nor forsake thee.

7 Đ oạn, Môi-se gọi Giô-suê, nói cùng người tại trước mặt cả Y-sơ-ra-ên mà rằng: Hãy vừng lòng bền chí; vì ngươi sẽ vào với dân nầy trong xứ mà Đức Giê-hô-va đã thề ban cho tổ phụ họ, và ngươi sẽ chia xứ cho họ.

And Moses called unto Joshua and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage, for thou shalt enter in with this people to the land which the LORD has sworn unto their fathers to give them, and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.

8 C hánh Đức Giê-hô-va sẽ đi trước ngươi, Ngài sẽ ở cùng ngươi, chẳng lìa khỏi ngươi, chẳng từ bỏ ngươi đâu. Chớ sợ, và chớ kinh khủng.

And the LORD is he that doth go before thee; he will be with thee; he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee; fear not, neither be dismayed.

9 M ôi-se chép luật nầy, giao cho những thầy tế lễ, là con cháu Lê-vi, khiêng hòm giao ước của Đức Giê-hô-va, lại giao luôn cho hết thảy trưởng lão Y-sơ-ra-ên,

¶ And Moses wrote this law and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and unto all the elders of Israel.

10 v à truyền lịnh nầy, mà rằng: Cuối bảy năm, nhằm năm giải thích, tại ngày lễ lều tạm,

And Moses commanded them, saying, At the beginning of the seventh year, in the appointed time of the year of release, in the feast of the tabernacles,

11 k hi cả dân Y-sơ-ra-ên đến chầu trước mặt Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời ngươi, trong chỗ Ngài sẽ chọn, thì người phải đọc luật nầy trước cả Y-sơ-ra-ên cho chúng nghe.

when all Israel is come to appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing.

12 N gươi phải nhóm hiệp dân sự, nào người nam, người nữ, nào con trẻ và khách lạ ở trong các thành của ngươi, để chúng nghe, tập kính sợ Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời ngươi, và cẩn thận làm theo các lời của luật pháp nầy.

Gather the people together, men and women and children and thy strangers that are within thy gates, that they may hear and that they may learn and fear the LORD your God and observe to do all the words of this law,

13 N hững con cái của dân sự chưa biết việc ấy, sẽ nghe, tập kính sợ Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời các ngươi, trọn lúc các ngươi sống trên đất mà các ngươi sẽ nhận được, sau khi đã đi ngang qua sông Gô-đanh.

and that their children, who have not known any thing, may hear and learn to fear the LORD your God all the days that ye live in the land unto which ye are to pass the Jordan to inherit it.

14 Đ ức Giê-hô-va bèn phán cùng Môi-se rằng: Kìa, ngày chết của ngươi hầu gần; hãy gọi Giô-suê, rồi hai ngươi hãy ra mắt tại hội mạc, để ta truyền lịnh ta cho người. Vậy, Môi-se và Giô-suê đi đến chầu tại hội mạc.

¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thy days are fulfilled that thou must die; call Joshua and wait in the tabernacle of the testimony that I may give him a charge. And Moses and Joshua went and waited in the tabernacle of the testimony.

15 Đ ức Giê-hô-va hiện ra nơi Trại, trong một trụ mây, và trụ mây dừng lại tại cửa Trại.

And the LORD appeared in the tabernacle in the pillar of cloud, and the pillar of the cloud stood over the door of the tabernacle.

16 Đ ức Giê-hô-va phán cùng Môi-se rằng: Kìa, ngươi sẽ an giấc với các tổ phụ ngươi; dân sự nầy sẽ dấy lên và thông dâm cùng các thần khác trong xứ mà họ sẽ vào, bỏ ta và bội giao ước ta đã lập cùng họ.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, and this people shall rise up and fornicate after the gods of the strangers of the land where they go when they shall be among them and will forsake me and break my covenant which I have made with them.

17 T rong ngày ấy, cơn thạnh nộ ta sẽ phừng lên cùng họ, ta sẽ bỏ họ, giấu mặt ta đi, khiến cho họ bị tiêu nuốt; nhiều sự tai vạ và buồn thảm sẽ xông hãm vào họ. Trong ngày đó họ sẽ nói rằng: Há có phải vì Đức Chúa Trời không ngự giữa tôi, nên những tai vạ nầy xông hãm vào tôi chăng?

Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that same day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?

18 C òn ta, trong ngày đó, sẽ giấu mất mặt ta đi, vì cớ các tội ác của dân đã làm, trở theo các thần khác.

But I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods.

19 V ậy bây giờ, hãy chép bài ca nầy và dạy cho dân Y-sơ-ra-ên; hãy để trong miệng họ, để bài ca nầy dùng làm chứng cho ta nghịch cùng dân Y-sơ-ra-ên.

Now therefore write ye this song for you and teach it to the sons of Israel; put it in their mouths that this song may be a witness for me against the sons of Israel.

20 V ì ta sẽ đưa dân nầy vào xứ, ta đã thề hứa cùng tổ phụ chúng nó; tức là xứ đượm sữa và mật; chúng nó sẽ ăn no nê và mập béo; đoạn, trở đi hầu việc các thần khác, khinh dể ta, và bội giao ước của ta.

For I shall bring them into the land which I swore unto their fathers, that flows with milk and honey, and they shall eat and fill themselves and wax fat; then they will turn unto other gods and serve them and provoke me and break my covenant.

21 K hi tai vạ nhiều và sự gian truân đã xông hãm dân nầy, thì bấy giờ, bài ca nầy sẽ rền lên làm chứng nghịch cùng nó, vì miệng của dòng dõi nó sẽ không quên. Vả, ta biết những ý tưởng của nó đã kết nên ngày nay, trước khi đưa nó vào xứ mà ta đã thề ban cho.

And it shall come to pass when many evils and troubles are befallen them, that this song shall reply to them in their face as a witness, for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed; for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I swore.

22 T rong ngày đó, Môi-se chép bài ca nầy và dạy cho dân Y-sơ-ra-ên.

¶ Moses therefore wrote this song the same day and taught it to the sons of Israel.

23 Đ ức Giê-hô-va ra lịnh cho Giô-suê, con trai Nun, mà rằng: Hãy vững lòng bền chí, vì ngươi sẽ đưa dân Y-sơ-ra-ên vào trong xứ mà ta đã thề ban cho chúng nó; còn ta, ta sẽ ở cùng ngươi.

And he gave Joshua, the son of Nun, a charge and said, Be strong and of a good courage for thou shalt bring the sons of Israel into the land which I swore unto them, and I will be with thee.

24 K hi Môi-se chép những lời luật pháp nầy trong một cuốn sách xong rồi,

And it came to pass when Moses had finished writing the words of this law in the book until they were finished,

25 t hì ra lịnh cho người Lê-vi khiêng hòm giao ước của Đức Giê-hô-va mà rằng:

that Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying,

26 H ãy lấy cuốn sách luật pháp nầy, để bên hòm giao ước của Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời các ngươi. Nó sẽ ở đó làm chứng nghịch cùng ngươi;

Take this book of the law and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God that it may be there for a witness against thee.

27 v ì ta biết tánh bội nghịch và cứng cổ của ngươi. Nầy ngày nay, lúc ta còn sống với các ngươi, các ngươi đã phản nghịch cùng Đức Giê-hô-va; huống chi sau khi ta qua đời!

For I know thy rebellion and thy stiff neck; behold, while I am yet alive with you today, ye are rebels against the LORD, and how much more after my death?

28 H ãy nhóm hiệp những trưởng lão của các chi phái và quan cai các ngươi lại gần ta; ta sẽ cho họ nghe những lời nầy nơi lỗ tai, và ta bắt trời cùng đất làm chứng nghịch cùng họ.

Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes and your officers, and I shall speak these words in their ears and call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against them.

29 V ì ta biết rằng, sau khi ta qua đời, các ngươi hẳn sẽ bại hoại, trở bỏ đường ta đã truyền dạy cho các ngươi; trong ngày sau rốt, tai họa sẽ xông hãm các ngươi, bởi các ngươi làm điều ác trước mặt Đức Giê-hô-va, lấy những công việc của tay mình mà chọc Ngài nổi giận.

For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days because ye will have done evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

30 M ôi-se đọc hết những lời của bài ca nầy cho cả hội Y-sơ-ra-ên nghe:

Then Moses spoke in the ears of all the congregation of Israel the words of this song until they were ended.
