1 D adyowga oo dhammow, bal tan maqla, Dunida kuwiinna degganow, kulligiin dhegta u dhiga,
Hear this, all ye peoples; Give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world,
2 K uwiinna hoose iyo kuwiinna sare, Taajirrada iyo masaakiintoy, dhammaantiin wada maqla.
Both low and high, Rich and poor together.
3 A fkaygu wuxuu ku hadli doonaa xigmad, Qalbigayguna wuxuu ka fikiri doonaa waxgarasho.
My mouth shall speak wisdom; And the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
4 D hegtayda waxaan u dhigi doonaa masaal, Xujadaydana waxaan ku muujin doonaa kataaradda.
I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.
5 H addaba bal maxaan u cabsanayaa wakhtiga shar jiro, Markii xumaanu cedhbahayga ku wareegsanto?
Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, When iniquity at my heels compasseth me about?
6 K uwa maalkooda isku halleeya, Oo ku faana hodantinimadooda faraha badan,
They that trust in their wealth, And boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
7 M idkoodna walaalkiis ma furan karo, Daraaddiisna Ilaah madaxfurasho uma siin karo,
None of them can by any means redeem his brother, Nor give to God a ransom for him;
8 ( Waayo, furashada naftoodu waa qaali aad iyo aad, Kumana filna weligeedba,)
(For the redemption of their life is costly, And it faileth for ever;)
9 I nuu isagu weligiis sii noolaado, Oo aanu halligaad arkin weligiis.
That he should still live alway, That he should not see corruption.
10 W aayo, isagu wuxuu arkaa inay dadka xigmadda lahu wada dhintaan, Iyo in nacasyada iyo doqonnaduba ay wada baabba'aan, Oo ay maalkooda kuwa kale uga tagaan.
For he shall see it. Wise men die; The fool and the brutish alike perish, And leave their wealth to others.
11 W axay ismoodsiiyaan inay guryahoodu weligoodba sii jirayaan, Iyo in meelaha rugtooda ahu ay sii raagayaan tan iyo qarniyada oo dhan, Oo dhulalkoodana way isku magacaabaan.
Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, And their dwelling-places to all generations; They call their lands after their own names.
12 L aakiinse binu-aadmigu sharaf kuma waaro, Wuxuu la mid yahay sida xayawaanka iska baabba'a.
But man being in honor abideth not: He is like the beasts that perish.
13 J idkoodanu waa kalsoonidooda nacasnimada ah, Laakiinse dadka iyaga ka dambeeya ayaa hadalkoodii u boga. (Selaah)
This their way is their folly: Yet after them men approve their sayings. Selah
14 I yagu waxaa weeye adhi She'ool loo wado, Oo waxaa sida adhijir u ahaan doona dhimasho, Oo kuwa qumman ayaa iyaga subaxda u talin doona, Oo quruxdoodana waxaa baabbi'in doona She'ool, inaanay iyagu rug yeelan innaba.
They are appointed as a flock for Sheol; Death shall be their shepherd; And the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; And their beauty shall be for Sheol to consume, That there be no habitation for it.
15 L aakiinse Ilaah naftayda wuu ka soo furan doonaa xoogga She'ool, Waayo, wuu i aqbali doonaa. (Selaah)
But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol; For he will receive me. Selah
16 H a baqin markii mid taajiroobo, Oo ammaanta reerkiisu aad u korodho,
Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, When the glory of his house is increased.
17 W aayo, isagu markuu dhinto waxba sii qaadan maayo, Oo ammaantiisuna ka daba geli mayso.
For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away; His glory shall not descend after him.
18 I n kastoo uu naftiisa u duceeyey markuu noolaa, Oo dad adiga ku ammaana, kolkaad wax wanaagsan isu samaysid,
Though while he lived he blessed his soul (And men praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself,)
19 I sagu wuxuu u tegi doonaa qarniyadii awowayaashiis, Oo iyana weligood iftiinka ma ay arki doonaan.
He shall go to the generation of his fathers; They shall never see the light.
20 N inkii sharaf leh oo aan garaad lahaynu Wuxuu la mid yahay sida xayawaanka iska baabba'a.
Man that is in honor, and understandeth not, Is like the beasts that perish.
