1 M oreover Job continued his discourse, and said:

約 伯 接 著 說 ：

2 “ As God lives, who has taken away my justice, And the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter,

神 奪 去 我 的 理 ， 全 能 者 使 我 心 中 愁 苦 。 我 指 著 永 生 的 神 起 誓 ：

3 A s long as my breath is in me, And the breath of God in my nostrils,

我 的 生 命 尚 在 我 裡 面 ； 神 所 賜 呼 吸 之 氣 仍 在 我 的 鼻 孔 內 。

4 M y lips will not speak wickedness, Nor my tongue utter deceit.

我 的 嘴 決 不 說 非 義 之 言 ； 我 的 舌 也 不 說 詭 詐 之 語 。

5 F ar be it from me That I should say you are right; Till I die I will not put away my integrity from me.

我 斷 不 以 你 們 為 是 ； 我 至 死 必 不 以 自 己 為 不 正 ！

6 M y righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go; My heart shall not reproach me as long as I live.

我 持 定 我 的 義 ， 必 不 放 鬆 ； 在 世 的 日 子 ， 我 心 必 不 責 備 我 。

7 “ May my enemy be like the wicked, And he who rises up against me like the unrighteous.

願 我 的 仇 敵 如 惡 人 一 樣 ； 願 那 起 來 攻 擊 我 的 ， 如 不 義 之 人 一 般 。

8 F or what is the hope of the hypocrite, Though he may gain much, If God takes away his life?

不 敬 虔 的 人 雖 然 得 利 ， 神 奪 取 其 命 的 時 候 還 有 甚 麼 指 望 呢 ？

9 W ill God hear his cry When trouble comes upon him?

患 難 臨 到 他 ， 神 豈 能 聽 他 的 呼 求 ？

10 W ill he delight himself in the Almighty? Will he always call on God?

他 豈 以 全 能 者 為 樂 ， 隨 時 求 告 神 呢 ？

11 “ I will teach you about the hand of God; What is with the Almighty I will not conceal.

神 的 作 為 ， 我 要 指 教 你 們 ； 全 能 者 所 行 的 ， 我 也 不 隱 瞞 。

12 S urely all of you have seen it; Why then do you behave with complete nonsense?

你 們 自 己 也 都 見 過 ， 為 何 全 然 變 為 虛 妄 呢 ？

13 “ This is the portion of a wicked man with God, And the heritage of oppressors, received from the Almighty:

神 為 惡 人 所 定 的 分 ， 強 暴 人 從 全 能 者 所 得 的 報 （ 原 文 是 產 業 ） 乃 是 這 樣 ：

14 I f his children are multiplied, it is for the sword; And his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.

倘 或 他 的 兒 女 增 多 ， 還 是 被 刀 所 殺 ； 他 的 子 孫 必 不 得 飽 食 。

15 T hose who survive him shall be buried in death, And their widows shall not weep,

他 所 遺 留 的 人 必 死 而 埋 葬 ； 他 的 寡 婦 也 不 哀 哭 。

16 T hough he heaps up silver like dust, And piles up clothing like clay—

他 雖 積 蓄 銀 子 如 塵 沙 ， 預 備 衣 服 如 泥 土 ；

17 H e may pile it up, but the just will wear it, And the innocent will divide the silver.

他 只 管 預 備 ， 義 人 卻 要 穿 上 ； 他 的 銀 子 ， 無 辜 的 人 要 分 取 。

18 H e builds his house like a moth, Like a booth which a watchman makes.

他 建 造 房 屋 如 蟲 做 窩 ， 又 如 守 望 者 所 搭 的 棚 。

19 T he rich man will lie down, But not be gathered up; He opens his eyes, And he is no more.

他 雖 富 足 躺 臥 ， 卻 不 得 收 殮 ， 轉 眼 之 間 就 不 在 了 。

20 T errors overtake him like a flood; A tempest steals him away in the night.

驚 恐 如 波 濤 將 他 追 上 ； 暴 風 在 夜 間 將 他 颳 去 。

21 T he east wind carries him away, and he is gone; It sweeps him out of his place.

東 風 把 他 飄 去 ， 又 颳 他 離 開 本 處 。

22 I t hurls against him and does not spare; He flees desperately from its power.

神 要 向 他 射 箭 ， 並 不 留 情 ； 他 恨 不 得 逃 脫 神 的 手 。

23 M en shall clap their hands at him, And shall hiss him out of his place.

人 要 向 他 拍 掌 ， 並 要 發 叱 聲 ， 使 他 離 開 本 處 。
