1 ¶ This then was the lot of the tribe of the sons of Judah by their families: next to the border of Edom, of the wilderness of Zin towards the Negev on the south side.

La parte que tocó en suerte a la tribu de los hijos de Judá, conforme a sus familias, llegaba hasta la frontera de Edom, teniendo el desierto de Zin al sur como extremo meridional.

2 A nd their border on the side of the Negev was from the shore of the salt sea from the bay that looks toward the Negev;

Y su límite por el lado del sur fue desde la costa del Mar Salado, desde la bahía que mira hacia el sur;

3 a nd it went out towards the Negev to the ascent to Acrabbim passing unto Zin and ascending up by the Negev unto Kadeshbarnea past Hezron and going up by Adar, it went around to Karkaa,

y salía hacia el sur de la subida de Acrabim, pasando hasta Zin; y subiendo por el sur hasta Cadés-barnea, pasaba a Hezrón, y subiendo por Adar daba vuelta a Carcá.

4 f rom there it passed toward Azmon and went out unto the river of Egypt, and this border goes out to the western sea. This shall be your border of the Negev.

De allí pasaba a Asmón, y salía al arroyo de Egipto, y terminaba en el mar. Éste, pues, os será el límite del sur.

5 A nd the east border is the salt sea, even unto the end of the Jordan. And the border in the north quarter, from the bay of the sea, from the end of the Jordan,

El límite oriental es el Mar Salado hasta la desembocadura del Jordán. Y el límite del lado del norte, desde la bahía del mar en la desembocadura del Jordán;

6 a nd this border goes up to Bethhogla and passes along by the north of Betharabah, and from here this border goes up to the stone of Bohan, the son of Reuben.

y sube este límite por Bet-hoglá, y pasa al norte de Bet-arabá, y de aquí sube hasta la piedra de Bohán hijo de Rubén.

7 A nd this border goes back up to Debir from the valley of Achor and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the ascent to Adummim, which is towards the Negev of the river, and this border passes the waters of Enshemesh and comes out at the fount of Rogel;

Luego sube a Debir desde el valle de Acor; y al norte mira sobre Gilgal, que está enfrente de la subida de Adumín, que está al sur del arroyo; y pasa hasta las aguas de En-semes, y sale a la fuente de Rogel.

8 a nd this border goes up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the side of the Jebusite towards the Negev; this is Jerusalem. Then this border goes up to the top of the mountain that is before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward;

Y sube este límite por el valle del hijo de Hinom al lado sur del jebuseo, que es Jerusalén. Luego sube por la cumbre del monte que está enfrente del valle de Hinom hacia el occidente, el cual está al extremo del valle de Refaím, por el lado del norte.

9 a nd this border comes around from the top of the mountain unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah and goes out to the cities of Mount Ephron; and the border goes around to Baalah, which is Kirjathjearim.

Y rodea este límite desde la cumbre del monte hasta la fuente de las aguas de Neftoá, y sale a las ciudades del monte de Efrón, rodeando luego a Baalá, que es Quiryat-jearim.

10 A fter this, the border turns from Baalah westward unto Mount Seir and passes to the side of Mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and descends to Bethshemesh and passes on to Timnah.

Después gira este límite desde Baalá hacia el occidente al monte de Seír; y pasa al lado del monte de Jearim hacia el norte, el cual es Quesalón, y desciende a Bet-semes, y pasa a Timná.

11 T hen this border goes out to the side of Ekron northward; and the same border comes around to Shicron and passes by Mount Baalah and goes out to Jabneel; and this border comes out to the sea.

Sale luego al lado de Ecrón hacia el norte; y rodea a Sicrón, y pasa por el monte de Baalá, y sale a Jabneel y termina en el mar.

12 A nd the west border is the great sea. This is the border of the sons of Judah round about according to their families.

El límite del occidente es el Mar Grande. Éste fue el límite de los hijos de Judá, por todo el contorno, conforme a sus familias. Caleb conquista Hebrón y Debir

13 ¶ And unto Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, he gave a part among the sons of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba, the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.

Mas a Caleb hijo de Jefuné dio su parte entre los hijos de Judá, conforme al mandamiento de Jehová a Josué; la ciudad de Quiryatarbá padre de Anac, que es Hebrón.

14 A nd Caleb drove from there the three sons of Anak, Sheshai and Ahiman and Talmai, the sons of Anak.

Y Caleb echó de allí a los tres hijos de Anac, a Sesay, Ahimán y Talmay, descendientes de Anac.

15 F rom there he went up to the inhabitants of Debir, and the name of Debir before was Kirjathsepher.

De aquí subió contra los que moraban en Debir; y el nombre de Debir era antes Quiryat-séfer.

16 A nd Caleb said, He that smites Kirjathsepher and takes it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

Y dijo Caleb: Al que ataque a Quiryat-séfer, y la tome, yo le daré mi hija Acsá por mujer.

17 A nd Othniel, the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it; and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

Y la tomó Otoniel, hijo de Cenez hermano de Caleb; y él le dio su hija Acsá por mujer.

18 A nd it came to pass when he was taking her, he persuaded her to ask of her father for land to cultivate. Then she lighted off her ass, and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?

Y aconteció que cuando la llevaba, él la persuadió que pidiese a su padre tierras para labrar. Ella entonces se bajó del asno. Y Caleb le dijo: ¿Qué tienes?

19 A nd she answered, Give me a blessing, for thou hast given me a dry land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.

Mas a los jebuseos que habitaban en Jerusalén, los hijos de Judá no pudieron arrojarlos; y ha quedado el jebuseo en Jerusalén junto a los hijos de Judá hasta hoy.
