1 ¶ The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish, for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in; from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them.

Profecía sobre Tiro. Aullad, naves de Tarsis, porque destruida es Tiro hasta no quedar casa, ni adonde entrar; desde la tierra de Quitim les es revelado.

2 B e still, ye inhabitants of the isle; thou mart of Zidon, that by passing over the sea thou wert replenished.

Callad, moradores de la costa; tú, a quien los mercaderes de Sidón, pasando el mar, abastecían.

3 H er provision was from the plantings that grow with the many waters of the Nile, of the harvest of the river. She was also the mart of the Gentiles.

Su provisión procedía de las sementeras que crecen con las muchas aguas del Nilo, de la mies del río. Y ella era el emporio de las naciones.

4 B e thou ashamed, O Zidon, for the sea has spoken, even the strength of the sea, saying, I have never travailed nor brought forth children, neither did I nourish up young men nor bring up virgins.

Avergüénzate, Sidón, porque el mar, la fortaleza del mar habló, diciendo: Nunca estuve de parto, ni di a luz, ni crié jóvenes, ni eduqué doncellas.

5 W hen the report comes unto Egypt, they shall be sorely pained at the news from Tyre.

Cuando llegue la noticia a Egipto, se dolerán grandemente de las nuevas de Tiro.

6 P ass ye over to Tarshish; howl, ye inhabitants of the isle.

Pasaos a Tarsis; aullad, moradores de la costa.

7 I s this your joyous city, whose antiquity is of ancient days? Her own feet shall carry her afar off to sojourn.

¿Es ésa vuestra ciudad alegre, con muchos días de antigüedad, cuyos pies la han llevado a morar lejos?

8 W ho has decreed this against Tyre, the crowning city, whose merchants were princes, whose traders were the honourable of the earth?

¿Quién decretó esto contra Tiro, la que repartía coronas, cuyos negociantes eran príncipes, cuyos mercaderes eran los notables de la tierra?

9 T he LORD of the hosts has purposed it to stain the pride of all glory and to bring down all those who are exalted in the earth.

Jehová de los ejércitos lo decretó, para envilecer la soberbia de toda su gloria, y para abatir a todos los ilustres de la tierra.

10 P ass by as a river from thy land, O daughter of Tarshish; for thou shalt have no more strength.

Inunda tu tierra como el Nilo, oh hija de Tarsis, porque no tendrás ya más ceñidor.

11 H e stretched out his hand over the sea; he shook the kingdoms; the LORD commanded upon Canaan that her strength should be weakened.

Extendió su mano sobre el mar, hizo temblar los reinos; Jehová mandó respecto a Canaán, que sus fortalezas sean destruidas.

12 A nd he said, Thou shalt no more rejoice, O thou oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon; arise, pass over to Chittim, and even there thou shalt have no rest.

Y dijo: No te alegrarás más, oh oprimida virgen, hija de Sidón. Levántate para pasar a Quitim, y aun allí no tendrás reposo.

13 B ehold the land of the Chaldeans. This people was not until the Assyrian founded it for those that dwell in the wilderness; they set up its towers; they raised up its palaces, and he brought it to ruin.

Mira la tierra de los caldeos. Este pueblo no existía; Asiria la fundó para las bestias del desierto. Levantaron sus torres de asalto, demolieron sus alcázares; está hecha una ruina.

14 H owl, ye ships of Tarshish, for your strength is laid waste.

Aullad, naves de Tarsis, porque destruida es vuestra fortaleza. Jehová visitará a Tiro

15 ¶ And it shall come to pass in that day that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years according to the days of one king; after the end of seventy years Tyre shall sing as a harlot.

Y acontecerá en aquel día, que Tiro será puesta en olvido por setenta años, como días de un rey. Después de los setenta años le sucederá a Tiro como en la canción de la ramera:

16 T ake a harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing the song again that thou may be remembered.

Toma un arpa, y rodea la ciudad, oh ramera olvidada; haz buena melodía, reitera la canción, para que seas recordada.

17 A nd it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire and shall commit fornication again with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.

Y acontecerá que al fin de los setenta años visitará Jehová a Tiro; y volverá a comerciar, y otra vez fornicará con todos los reinos del mundo sobre la faz de la tierra.

18 B ut her profit and her hire shall be consecrated unto the LORD: it shall not be treasured nor laid up for her profit shall be for those that dwell before the LORD, to eat until they are filled and to dress honourably.

Pero sus negocios y ganancias serán consagrados a Jehová; no se guardarán ni se atesorarán, porque sus ganancias serán para los que estuvieren delante de Jehová, para que coman hasta saciarse, y vistan espléndidamente.
