1 ¶ And after Abimelech there arose to save Israel, Tola, the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar; and he dwelt in Shamir in Mount Ephraim.

Después de Abimelec, se levantó para librar a Israel Tolá hijo de Puá, hijo de Dodó, varón de Isacar, el cual habitaba en Samir en el monte de Efraín.

2 A nd he judged Israel twenty-three years and died and was buried in Shamir.

Y juzgó a Israel veintitrés años; y murió, y fue sepultado en Samir.

3 A nd after him arose Jair, a Gileadite, who judged Israel twenty-two years.

Tras él se levantó Jaír galaadita, el cual juzgó a Israel veintidós años.

4 A nd he had thirty sons that rode on thirty ass colts, and they had thirty cities, which are called the cities of Jair unto this day, which are in the land of Gilead.

Éste tuvo treinta hijos, que cabalgaban sobre treinta asnos; y tenían treinta ciudades, que se llaman las ciudades de Jaír hasta hoy, las cuales están en la tierra de Galaad.

5 A nd Jair died and was buried in Camon.

Y murió Jaír, y fue sepultado en Camón. Jefté liberta a Israel de los amonitas

6 ¶ And the sons of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD and served the Baalim and Ashtaroth and the gods of Syria and the gods of Zidon and the gods of Moab and the gods of the sons of Ammon and the gods of the Philistines and forsook the LORD and did not serve him.

Pero los hijos de Israel volvieron a hacer lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, y sirvieron a los baales y a Astarot, a los dioses de Siria, a los dioses de Sidón, a los dioses de Moab, a los dioses de los hijos de Amón y a los dioses de los filisteos; y dejaron a Jehová, y no le servían.

7 A nd the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hands of the Philistines and into the hands of the sons of Ammon,

Y se encendió la ira de Jehová contra Israel, y los entregó en mano de los filisteos, y en mano de los hijos de Amón;

8 w ho dashed in pieces and crushed the sons of Israel for eighteen years, all the sons of Israel that were on the other side of the Jordan in the land of the Amorite, which is in Gilead.

los cuales oprimieron y quebrantaron a los hijos de Israel en aquel tiempo dieciocho años, a todos los hijos de Israel que estaban al otro lado del Jordán en la tierra del amorreo, que está en Galaad.

9 M oreover the sons of Ammon passed over the Jordan to fight also against Judah and against Benjamin and against the house of Ephraim so that Israel was sore distressed.

Y los hijos de Amón pasaron el Jordán para hacer también guerra contra Judá y contra Benjamín y la casa de Efraín, y fue afligido Israel en gran manera.

10 ¶ And the sons of Israel cried unto the LORD, saying, We have sinned against thee because we have forsaken our God and served the Baalim.

Entonces los hijos de Israel clamaron a Jehová, diciendo: Nosotros hemos pecado contra ti; porque hemos dejado a nuestro Dios, y servido a los baales.

11 A nd the LORD replied unto the sons of Israel, Were you not oppressed by Egypt, by the Amorites, by the sons of Ammon, by the Philistines,

Y Jehová respondió a los hijos de Israel: ¿No habéis sido oprimidos de Egipto, de los amorreos, de los amonitas, de los filisteos,

12 b y those of Zidon, by Amalek, and by Maon, and ye cried to me and I delivered you out of their hands?

de los de Sidón, de Amalec y de Maón, y clamando a mí, acaso no os libré de sus manos?

13 Y et ye have forsaken me and served other gods; therefore, I will deliver you no more.

Mas vosotros me habéis dejado, y habéis servido a dioses ajenos; por tanto, yo no os libraré más.

14 G o and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your affliction.

Andad y clamad a los dioses que os habéis elegido; que os libren ellos en el tiempo de vuestra aflicción.

15 A nd the sons of Israel said unto the LORD, We have sinned; do thou unto us whatever seems good unto thee; only deliver us now, we pray thee, this day.

Y los hijos de Israel respondieron a Jehová: Hemos pecado; haz tú con nosotros como bien te parezca; sólo te rogamos que nos libres en este día.

16 A nd they put away the strange gods from among them and served the LORD; and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

Y quitaron de entre sí los dioses ajenos, y sirvieron a Jehová; y él fue movido a compasión a causa del sufrimiento de Israel.

17 T hen the sons of Ammon were gathered together and encamped in Gilead. And likewise the sons of Israel assembled themselves together and encamped in Mizpeh.

Entonces se juntaron los hijos de Amón, y acamparon en Galaad; se juntaron asimismo los hijos de Israel, y acamparon en Mizpá.

18 A nd the people and princes of Gilead said one to another, Who shall it be that will begin the battle against the sons of Ammon? He shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.

Y los príncipes y el pueblo de Galaad dijeron el uno al otro: ¿Quién comenzará la batalla contra los hijos de Amón? Será caudillo sobre todos los habitantes de Galaad.
