1 ¶ For the kingdom of the heavens is like unto a man, the husband of a house, who went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.

Porque el reino de los cielos es semejante a un hombre, padre de familia, que salió de madrugada a contratar obreros para su viña.

2 A nd when he had agreed with the labourers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

Y habiéndose concertado con los obreros en un denario al día, los envió a su viña.

3 A nd he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the marketplace

Saliendo hacia la hora tercera del día, vio a otros que estaban de pie en la plaza desocupados;

4 a nd said unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you. And they went.

y les dijo: Id también vosotros a mi viña, y os daré lo que sea justo. Y ellos fueron.

5 A gain he went out about the sixth and ninth hour and did likewise.

Salió otra vez hacia las horas sexta y novena, e hizo lo mismo.

6 A nd about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle and said unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?

Y saliendo hacia la hora undécima, halló a otros que estaban parados, y les dijo: ¿Por qué estáis aquí todo el día desocupados?

7 T hey say unto him, Because no one has hired us. He said unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatever is right, that shall ye receive.

Le dijeron: Porque nadie nos contrató. Él les dijo: Id también vosotros a la viña, y recibiréis lo que sea justo.

8 S o when evening was come, the lord of the vineyard said unto his steward, Call the labourers and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.

Al caer la tarde, el dueño de la viña dijo a su administrador: Llama a los obreros y págales el jornal, comenzando desde los últimos hasta los primeros.

9 A nd when those came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a denarius.

Y al venir los que habían ido hacia la hora undécima, recibieron cada uno un denario.

10 B ut when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more but they likewise received each one a denarius.

Al venir también los primeros, pensaron que recibirían más; pero también ellos recibieron cada uno un denario.

11 A nd when they had received it, they murmured against the husband of the house,

Y al recibirlo, murmuraban contra el padre de familia,

12 s aying, These last have worked but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us who have borne the burden and heat of the day.

diciendo: Estos últimos han trabajado una sola hora, y los has hecho iguales a nosotros, que hemos soportado el peso del día y el calor abrasador.

13 B ut he answered one of them and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong; didst not thou agree with me for a denarius?

Él, respondiendo, dijo a uno de ellos: Amigo, no te hago injusticia; ¿no te concertaste conmigo en un denario?

14 T ake that which is thine and go, for I desire to give unto this last one, even as unto thee.

Toma lo que es tuyo, y vete; pero quiero dar a este último como a ti.

15 I s it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil because I am good?

¿No me es lícito hacer con lo mío lo que quiera? ¿O tienes tú envidia, porque yo soy bueno?

16 S o the first shall be last, and the last first; for many are called, but few are chosen.

Así, los últimos serán primeros; y los primeros, últimos; porque muchos son llamados, mas pocos escogidos. Nuevamente Jesús anuncia su muerte

17 ¶ And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way and said unto them,

Subiendo Jesús a Jerusalén, tomó a sus discípulos aparte en el camino, y les dijo:

18 B ehold, we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the princes of the priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death

Mirad que subimos a Jerusalén, y el Hijo del Hombre será entregado a los principales sacerdotes y a los escribas, y le condenarán a muerte;

19 a nd shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify; and the third day he shall rise again.

y le entregarán a los gentiles para que le escarnezcan, le azoten, y le crucifiquen; y al tercer día resucitará. Petición de Santiago y de Juan

20 ¶ Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to him with her sons, worshipping him and desiring a certain thing of him.

Entonces se le acercó la madre de los hijos de Zebedeo con sus hijos, postrándose ante él y pidiéndole algo.

21 A nd he said unto her, What dost thou desire? She said unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit the one on thy right hand and the other on the left in thy kingdom.

Él le dijo: ¿Qué quieres? Ella le dijo: Ordena que en tu reino se sienten estos dos hijos míos, el uno a tu derecha, y el otro a tu izquierda.

22 B ut Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.

Entonces Jesús, respondiendo, dijo: No sabéis lo que pedís. ¿Podéis beber la copa que yo he de beber, y ser bautizados con el bautismo con que yo soy bautizado? Y ellos respondieron: Podemos.

23 A nd he said unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; but to sit on my right hand and on my left is not mine to give, but it shall be given to those for whom it is prepared of my Father.

Él les dijo: A la verdad, mi copa beberéis, y con el bautismo con que yo soy bautizado, seréis bautizados; pero el sentarse a mi derecha y a mi izquierda, no es mío darlo, sino a aquellos para quienes está preparado por mi Padre.

24 A nd when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brothers.

Cuando los diez oyeron esto, se enojaron contra los dos hermanos.

25 B ut Jesus called them unto him and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and those that are great wield power over them.

Entonces Jesús, llamándoles, dijo: Sabéis que los gobernantes de las naciones se enseñorean de ellas, y los potentados las oprimen con su autoridad.

26 B ut it shall not be so among you, but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;

Mas entre vosotros no será así, sino que el que quiera hacerse grande entre vosotros, será vuestro servidor;

27 a nd whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your slave,

y el que quiera ser el primero entre vosotros, será vuestro siervo;

28 e ven as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister and to give his life a ransom for many.

como el Hijo del Hombre no vino para ser servido, sino para servir, y para dar su vida en rescate por muchos. Dos ciegos reciben la vista

29 ¶ And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.

Al salir ellos de Jericó, le siguió una gran multitud.

30 A nd, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us.

Y dos ciegos que estaban sentados junto al camino, cuando oyeron que Jesús pasaba, gritaron, diciendo: ¡Señor, Hijo de David, ten compasión de nosotros!

31 A nd the multitude rebuked them, that they should be silent; but they cried the more, saying, Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us.

Y la gente les reprendió para que callasen; pero ellos gritaban más aún, diciendo: ¡Señor, Hijo de David, ten compasión de nosotros!

32 A nd Jesus stood still and called them and said, What desire ye that I shall do unto you?

Y deteniéndose Jesús, los llamó y les dijo: ¿Qué queréis que os haga?

33 T hey say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.

Ellos le dijeron: Señor, que sean abiertos nuestros ojos.

34 T hen Jesus, having mercy on them, touched their eyes; and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

Entonces Jesús, movido a compasión, les tocó los ojos, y en seguida recobraron la vista; y le siguieron.
