1 Aleph Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.

Unto thee, Jehovah, do I lift up my soul.

2 B eth O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not my enemies triumph over me.

My God, I confide in thee; let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

3 G imel Yea, none that wait on thee shall be ashamed; those which rebel without cause shall be ashamed.

Yea, none that wait on thee shall be ashamed: they shall be ashamed that deal treacherously without cause.

4 D aleth Show me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

Make me to know thy ways, O Jehovah; teach me thy paths.

5 H e Cause me to walk in thy truth and teach me: for thou art the God of my saving health; I have waited for thee all the day.

Make me to walk in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

6 V au Remember, O LORD, thy compassion and thy mercies, for they have been ever of old.

Remember, Jehovah, thy tender mercies and thy loving-kindnesses; for they are from everlasting.

7 Z ain Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my rebellions; according to thy mercy remember me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD.

Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; according to thy loving-kindness remember thou me, for thy goodness' sake, Jehovah.

8 Cheth Good and upright is the LORD: therefore he will teach sinners in the way.

Good and upright is Jehovah; therefore will he instruct sinners in the way:

9 T eth He will cause the humble to pass through the judgment, and the meek he will teach his way.

The meek will he guide in judgment, and the meek will he teach his way.

10 J od All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

All the paths of Jehovah are loving-kindness and truth for such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

11 C aph For thy name’s sake, O LORD, pardon my iniquity; for it is great.

For thy name's sake, O Jehovah, thou wilt indeed pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.

12 L amed Who is the man that fears the LORD? Him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

What man is he that feareth Jehovah? him will he instruct in the way he should choose.

13 M em His soul shall rest in that which is good; and his seed shall inherit the earth.

His soul shall dwell in prosperity, and his seed shall inherit the earth.

14 N un The secret of the LORD is for those that fear him, and he will show them his covenant.

The secret of Jehovah is with them that fear him, that he may make known his covenant to them.

15 Samech Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD, for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.

Mine eyes are ever toward Jehovah; for he will bring my feet out of the net.

16 A in Turn thee unto me and have mercy upon me, for I am desolate and afflicted.

Turn toward me, and be gracious unto me; for I am solitary and afflicted.

17 T zaddi The troubles of my heart are enlarged; O bring thou me out of my distresses.

The troubles of my heart are increased: bring me out of my distresses;

18 R esh Look upon my affliction and my pain and forgive all my sins.

Consider mine affliction and my travail, and forgive all my sins.

19 R esh Consider my enemies, for they are multiplied; and they hate me with cruel hatred.

Consider mine enemies, for they are many, and they hate me cruel hatred.

20 S chin O keep my soul and deliver me; let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in thee.

21 T au Integrity and uprightness shall preserve me, for I have waited for thee.

Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
