1 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

Jehovah said unto my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I put thine enemies footstool of thy feet.

2 T he LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion; rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

Jehovah shall send the sceptre of thy might out of Zion: rule in the midst of thine enemies.

3 T hy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauty of holiness; as the dew which falls from the womb of the morning, thus shall those who are thine be born unto thee.

Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in holy splendour: from the womb of the morning to thee the dew of thy youth.

4 T he LORD has sworn and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

Jehovah hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art priest for ever after the order of Melchisedek.

5 The Lord at thy right hand shall smite the kings in the day of his wrath.

The Lord at thy right hand will smite through kings in the day of his anger.

6 H e shall judge among the Gentiles; he shall fill their places with dead bodies; he shall wound the head over much of the earth.

He shall judge among the nations; he shall fill with dead bodies; he shall smite through the head over a great country.

7 H e shall drink of the brook in the way; therefore he shall lift up his head.

He shall drink of the brook in the way; therefore shall he lift up the head.
