And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

And the sons of Javan: Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

From these came the distribution of the isles of the nations, according to their lands, every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.

And the sons of Ham: Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.

7 W iilashii Kuushna waxay ahaayeen Sebaa, iyo Xawiilaah, iyo Sabtaah, iyo Racmaah, iyo Sabteka: wiilashii Racmaahna waxay ahaayeen Shebaa, iyo Dedaan.

And the sons of Cush: Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha. And the sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

8 K uushna wuxuu dhalay Nimrod: wuxuuna bilaabay inuu noqdo mid dhulka xoog weyn ku leh.

And Cush begot Nimrod: he began to be mighty on the earth.

9 W uxuu ahaa ugaadhsade ku xoog weyn Rabbiga hortiisa: taas daraaddeed waxaa la yidhaahdaa, Sidii Nimrod ugaadhsade xoog weyn Rabbiga hortiisa.

He was a mighty hunter before Jehovah; therefore it is said, As Nimrod, the mighty hunter before Jehovah!

And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

11 D hulkaas wuu ka tegey oo wuxuu galay Ashuur, wuxuuna dhisay Nineweh, iyo Rexobod, iyo Kaalah,

From that land went out Asshur, and built Nineveh, and Rehoboth-Ir, and Calah,

12 i yo Resen oo u dhexeeyey Nineweh iyo Kaalah, (taasuna waxay tahay magaalada weyn).

and Resen, between Nineveh and Calah: this is the great city.

13 M israyimna wuxuu dhalay Luudiim, iyo Canaamiim, iyo Lehaabiim iyo Naftuxiim,

—And Mizraim begot the Ludim, and the Anamim, and the Lehabim, and the Naphtuhim,

14 i yo Fatrusiim iyo Kasluxiim (oo ay reer Falastiin ka yimaadeen), iyo Kaftoriim.

and the Pathrusim, and the Casluhim, out of whom came the Philistines, and the Caphtorim.

15 K ancaanna wuxuu dhalay Siidoon oo ahaa curadkiisii, iyo Xeed;

—And Canaan begot Sidon, his firstborn, and Heth,

16 i yo reer Yebuus, iyo reer Amor, iyo reer Girgaash;

and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,

17 i yo reer Xiwi, iyo reer Carqi, iyo reer Siini;

and the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

18 i yo reer Arwaad, iyo reer Semaar, iyo reer Xamaad: dabadeedna qabiilooyinkii Kancaan way kala firdheen.

and the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite. And afterwards the families of the Canaanites spread themselves abroad.

19 O o soohdintii reer Kancaan waxay ka bilaabmaysay Siidoon, markii loo kaco xagga Geraar, ilaa Gaasa, oo markii loo kaco xagga Sodom iyo Gomora iyo Admah iyo Seboyim, ilaa Laashac.

And the border of the Canaanite was from Sidon, as one goes to Gerar, up to Gazah; as one goes to Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, up to Lesha.

20 K uwanu waxay ahaayeen wiilashii Xaam, sidii qabiilooyinkoodii, iyo afafkoodii, iyo waddammadoodii, iyo quruumahoodii ay ahaayeen. Reer Sheem

These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, in their nations.

21 S heem oo aabbe u ahaa carruurtii Ceeber oo dhan, oo ahaa Yaafed walaalkiisii weynaa, isagana carruur baa u dhalatay.

And to Shem—to him also were born; he is the father of all the sons of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder.

22 W iilashii Sheemna waxay ahaayeen Ceelaam, iyo Ashuur, iyo Arfaksad, iyo Luud, iyo Araam.

The sons of Shem: Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.

23 W iilashii Araamna waxay ahaayeen Cuus, iyo Xuul, iyo Geter, iyo Mash.

And the sons of Aram: Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.

24 A rfaksadna wuxuu dhalay Salah; Salahna wuxuu dhalay Ceeber.

—And Arphaxad begot Shelah; and Shelah begot Eber.

25 C eeberna waxaa u dhashay laba wiil: mid magiciisu wuxuu ahaa Feleg; waayo, waagiisii ayaa dhulku qaybsamay; magaca walaalkiisna wuxuu ahaa Yoqtaan.

And to Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.

26 Y oqtaanna wuxuu dhalay Almoodaad, iyo Shelef, iyo Xasarmaawed, iyo Yerah;

And Joktan begot Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

27 i yo Hadooraam, iyo Uusaal, iyo Diqlah;

and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,

28 i yo Coobaal, iyo Abiimaa'el, iyo Shebaa;

and Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

29 i yo Oofir, iyo Xawiilaah, iyo Yoobaab: kuwaasu kulli waxay ahaayeen wiilashii Yoqtaan.

and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were sons of Joktan.

30 M eeshay degganaayeenna waxay ka bilaabmaysay Meesha, markii loo kaco xagga Sefaar, buurta bari.

And their dwelling was from Mesha, as one goes to Sephar, the eastern mountain.

31 K uwanu waxay ahaayeen wiilashii Sheem; sidii qabiilooyinkoodii, iyo afafkoodii, iyo waddammadoodii, iyo quruumahoodii ay ahaayeen.

These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.

32 K uwanu waa qabiilooyinkii wiilashii Nuux; sidii farcankoodii iyo quruumahoodii ay ahaayeen; oo kuwanaa quruumuhu ka kala qaybsameen daadkii dabadiis.

These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations. And from these came the distribution of the nations on the earth after the flood.
