1 A nd Jacob called unto his sons, and said: gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the latter days.

Y llamó Jacob a sus hijos, y dijo: Juntaos, y os declararé lo que os ha de acontecer en los días venideros.

2 A ssemble yourselves, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; And hearken unto Israel your father.

Juntaos y oíd, hijos de Jacob, Y escuchad a vuestro padre Israel.

3 R euben, thou art my first-born, my might, and the beginning of my strength; The pre-eminence of dignity, and the pre-eminence of power.

Rubén, tú eres mi primogénito, mi fortaleza, y el principio de mi vigor; Principal en dignidad, principal en poder.

4 B oiling over as water, thou shalt not have the pre-eminence; Because thou wentest up to thy father's bed; Then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.

Presuroso como las aguas, no serás el principal, Por cuanto subiste al lecho de tu padre; Entonces te envileciste, subiendo a mi estrado.

5 S imeon and Levi are brethren; Weapons of violence are their swords.

Simeón y Leví son hermanos; Armas de iniquidad sus armas.

6 O my soul, come not thou into their council; Unto their assembly, my glory, be not thou united; For in their anger they slew a man, And in their self-will they hocked an ox.

En su consejo no entre mi alma, Ni mi espíritu se junte en su compañía. Porque en su furor mataron hombres, Y en su temeridad desjarretaron toros.

7 C ursed be their anger, for it was fierce; And their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, And scatter them in Israel.

Maldito su furor, que fue fiero; Y su ira, que fue dura. Yo los apartaré en Jacob, Y los esparciré en Israel.

8 J udah, thee shall thy brethren praise: Thy hand shall be on the neck of thine enemies; Thy father's sons shall bow down before thee.

Judá, te alabarán tus hermanos; Tu mano en la cerviz de tus enemigos; Los hijos de tu padre se inclinarán a ti.

9 J udah is a lion's whelp; From the prey, my son, thou art gone up: He stooped down, he couched as a lion, And as a lioness; who shall rouse him up?

Cachorro de león, Judá; De la presa subiste, hijo mío. Se encorvó, se echó como león, Así como león viejo: ¿quién lo despertará?

10 T he sceptre shall not depart from Judah, Nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, Until Shiloh come: And unto him shall the obedience of the peoples be.

No será quitado el cetro de Judá, Ni el legislador de entre sus pies, Hasta que venga Siloh; Y a él se congregarán los pueblos.

11 B inding his foal unto the vine, And his ass's colt unto the choice vine; He hath washed his garments in wine, And his vesture in the blood of grapes:

Atando a la vid su pollino, Y a la cepa el hijo de su asna, Lavó en el vino su vestido, Y en la sangre de uvas su manto.

12 H is eyes shall be red with wine, And his teeth white with milk.

Sus ojos, rojos del vino, Y sus dientes blancos de la leche.

13 Z ebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; And he shall be for a haven of ships; And his border shall be upon Sidon.

Zabulón en puertos de mar habitará; Será para puerto de naves, Y su límite hasta Sidón.

14 I ssachar is a strong ass, Couching down between the sheepfolds:

Isacar, asno fuerte Que se recuesta entre los apriscos;

15 A nd he saw a resting-place that it was good, And the land that it was pleasant; And he bowed his shoulder to bear, And became a servant under taskwork.

Y vio que el descanso era bueno, y que la tierra era deleitosa; Y bajó su hombro para llevar, Y sirvió en tributo.

16 D an shall judge his people, As one of the tribes of Israel.

Dan juzgará a su pueblo, Como una de las tribus de Israel.

17 D an shall be a serpent in the way, An adder in the path, That biteth the horse's heels, So that his rider falleth backward.

Será Dan serpiente junto al camino, Víbora junto a la senda, Que muerde los talones del caballo, Y hace caer hacia atrás al jinete.

18 I have waited for thy salvation, O Jehovah.

Tu salvación esperé, oh Jehová.

19 G ad, a troop shall press upon him; But he shall press upon their heel.

Gad, ejército lo acometerá; Mas él acometerá al fin.

20 O ut of the Asher his bread shall be fat, And he shall yield royal dainties.

El pan de Aser será substancioso, Y él dará deleites al rey.

21 N aphtali is a hind let loose: He giveth goodly words.

Neftalí, cierva suelta, Que pronunciará dichos hermosos.

22 J oseph is a fruitful bough, A fruitful bough by a fountain; His branches run over the wall.

Rama fructífera es José, Rama fructífera junto a una fuente, Cuyos vástagos se extienden sobre su muro.

23 T he archers have sorely grieved him, And shot at him, and persecute him:

Le causaron amargura, Le asaetearon, Y le aborrecieron los arqueros;

24 B ut his bow abode in strength, And the arms of his hands were made strong, By the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, (From thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel),

Mas su arco se mantuvo poderoso. Y los brazos de sus manos se fortalecieron Por las manos del Fuerte de Jacob (Por el nombre del Pastor, la Roca de Israel),

25 E ven by the God of thy father, who shall help thee, And by the Almighty, who shall bless thee, With blessings of heaven above, Blessings of the deep that coucheth beneath, Blessings of the breasts, and of the womb.

Por el Dios de tu padre, el cual te ayudará, Por el Dios Omnipotente, el cual te bendecirá Con bendiciones de los cielos de arriba, Con bendiciones del abismo que está abajo, Con bendiciones de los pechos y del vientre.

26 T he blessings of thy father Have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors Unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: They shall be on the head of Joseph, And on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.

Las bendiciones de tu padre Fueron mayores que las bendiciones de mis progenitores; Hasta el término de los collados eternos Serán sobre la cabeza de José, Y sobre la frente del que fue apartado de entre sus hermanos.

27 B enjamin is a wolf that raveneth: In the morning she shall devour the prey, And at even he shall divide the spoil.

Benjamín es lobo arrebatador; A la mañana comerá la presa, Y a la tarde repartirá los despojos. Muerte de Jacob

28 A ll these are the twelve tribes of Israel: and this is it that their father spake unto them and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them.

Todos éstos fueron las doce tribus de Israel, y esto fue lo que su padre les dijo, al bendecirlos; a cada uno por su bendición los bendijo.

29 A nd he charged them, and said unto them, I am to be gathered unto my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,

Les mandó luego, y les dijo: Yo voy a ser reunido con mi pueblo. Sepultadme con mis padres en la cueva que está en el campo de Efrón el heteo,

30 i n the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field from Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a burying-place.

en la cueva que está en el campo de Macpelá, al oriente de Mamré en la tierra de Canaán, la cual compró Abraham con el mismo campo de Efrón el heteo, para heredad de sepultura.

31 t here they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah:

Allí sepultaron a Abraham y a Sara su mujer; allí sepultaron a Isaac y a Rebeca su mujer; allí también sepulté yo a Lea.

32 t he field and the cave that is therein, which was purchased from the children of Heth.

La compra del campo y de la cueva que está en él, fue de los hijos de Het.

33 A nd when Jacob made an end of charging his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered unto his people.

Y cuando acabó Jacob de dar mandamientos a sus hijos, recogió sus pies en la cama, y expiró, y fue reunido con sus padres.
