1 A nd Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took each of them his censer, and put fire therein, and laid incense thereon, and offered strange fire before Jehovah, which he had not commanded them.

Nadab y Abiú, hijos de Aarón, tomaron cada uno su incensario, y pusieron en ellos fuego, sobre el cual pusieron incienso, y ofrecieron delante de Jehová fuego extraño, que él nunca les mandó.

2 A nd there came forth fire from before Jehovah, and devoured them, and they died before Jehovah.

Y salió fuego de delante de Jehová y los quemó, y murieron delante de Jehová.

3 T hen Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that Jehovah spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

Entonces dijo Moisés a Aarón: Esto es lo que habló Jehová, diciendo: En los que a mí se acercan me santificaré, y en presencia de todo el pueblo seré glorificado. Y Aarón calló.

4 A nd Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Draw near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.

Y llamó Moisés a Misael y a Elzafán, hijos de Uziel tío de Aarón, y les dijo: Acercaos y sacad a vuestros hermanos de delante del santuario, fuera del campamento.

5 S o they drew near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp, as Moses had said.

Y ellos se acercaron y los sacaron con sus túnicas fuera del campamento, como dijo Moisés.

6 A nd Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Let not the hair of your heads go loose, neither rend your clothes; that ye die not, and that he be not wroth with all the congregation: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which Jehovah hath kindled.

Entonces Moisés dijo a Aarón, y a Eleazar e Itamar sus hijos: No descubráis vuestras cabezas, ni rasguéis vuestros vestidos en señal de duelo, para que no muráis, ni se levante la ira sobre toda la congregación; pero vuestros hermanos, toda la casa de Israel, sí lamentarán por el incendio que Jehová ha hecho.

7 A nd ye shall not go out from the door of the tent of meeting, lest ye die; for the anointing oil of Jehovah is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.

Ni saldréis de la puerta del tabernáculo de reunión, porque moriréis; por cuanto el aceite de la unción de Jehová está sobre vosotros. Y ellos hicieron conforme al dicho de Moisés.

8 A nd Jehovah spake unto Aaron, saying,

Y Jehová habló a Aarón, diciendo:

9 D rink no wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tent of meeting, that ye die not: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:

Tú, y tus hijos contigo, no beberéis vino ni sidra cuando entréis en el tabernáculo de reunión, para que no muráis; estatuto perpetuo será para vuestras generaciones,

10 a nd that ye may make a distinction between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean;

para poder discernir entre lo santo y lo profano, y entre lo inmundo y lo limpio,

11 a nd that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which Jehovah hath spoken unto them by Moses.

y para enseñar a los hijos de Israel todos los estatutos que Jehová les ha dicho por medio de Moisés. La porción de los sacerdotes en las ofrendas

12 A nd Moses spake unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons that were left, Take the meal-offering that remaineth of the offerings of Jehovah made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar; for it is most holy;

Y Moisés dijo a Aarón, y a Eleazar y a Itamar sus hijos que habían quedado: Tomad la ofrenda que queda de las ofrendas encendidas a Jehová, y comedla sin levadura junto al altar, porque es cosa muy santa.

13 a nd ye shall eat it in a holy place, because it is thy portion, and thy sons' portion, of the offerings of Jehovah made by fire: for so I am commanded.

La comeréis, pues, en lugar santo; porque esto es para ti y para tus hijos, de las ofrendas encendidas a Jehová, pues que así me ha sido mandado.

14 A nd the wave-breast and the heave-thigh shall ye eat in a clean place, thou, and thy sons, and thy daughters with thee: for they are given as thy portion, and thy sons' portion, out of the sacrifices of the peace-offerings of the children of Israel.

Comeréis asimismo en lugar limpio, tú y tus hijos y tus hijas contigo, el pecho mecido y la espaldilla elevada, porque por derecho son tuyos y de tus hijos, dados de los sacrificios de paz de los hijos de Israel.

15 T he heave-thigh and the wave-breast shall they bring with the offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave-offering before Jehovah: and it shall be thine, and thy sons' with thee, as a portion for ever; as Jehovah hath commanded.

Con las ofrendas de las gorduras que se han de quemar, traerán la espaldilla que se ha de elevar y el pecho que será mecido como ofrenda mecida delante de Jehová; y será por derecho perpetuo tuyo y de tus hijos, como Jehová lo ha mandado.

16 A nd Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin-offering, and, behold, it was burnt: and he was angry with Eleazar and with Ithamar, the sons of Aaron that were left, saying,

Y Moisés preguntó por el macho cabrío de la expiación, y se halló que había sido quemado; y se enojó contra Eleazar e Itamar, los hijos que habían quedado de Aarón, diciendo:

17 W herefore have ye not eaten the sin-offering in the place of the sanctuary, seeing it is most holy, and he hath given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before Jehovah?

¿Por qué no comisteis la expiación en lugar santo? Pues es muy santa, y la dio él a vosotros para llevar la iniquidad de la congregación, para que sean reconciliados delante de Jehová.

18 B ehold, the blood of it was not brought into the sanctuary within: ye should certainly have eaten it in the sanctuary, as I commanded.

Ved que la sangre no fue llevada dentro del santuario; y vosotros debíais comer la ofrenda en el lugar santo, como yo mandé.

19 A nd Aaron spake unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin-offering and their burnt-offering before Jehovah; and there have befallen me such things as these: and if I had eaten the sin-offering to-day, would it have been well-pleasing in the sight of Jehovah?

Y respondió Aarón a Moisés: He aquí hoy han ofrecido su expiación y su holocausto delante de Jehová; pero a mí me han sucedido estas cosas, y si hubiera yo comido hoy del sacrificio de expiación, ¿sería esto grato a Jehová?

20 A nd when Moses heard that, it was well-pleasing in his sight.

Y cuando Moisés oyó esto, se dio por satisfecho.
