1 B y Solomon. O God, Thy judgments to the king give, And Thy righteousness to the king's son.

O God, make the king right in what he decides. Make the king’s son right with You.

2 H e judgeth Thy people with righteousness, And Thy poor with judgment.

May he be right when he decides who is right and who is wrong and may he be fair to the poor.

3 T he mountains bear peace to the people, And the heights by righteousness.

Let mountains and hills bring peace to the people through what is right and good.

4 H e judgeth the poor of the people, Giveth deliverance to the sons of the needy, And bruiseth the oppressor.

May he stand by those who are poor, save the children of those in need, and destroy the bad power over them.

5 T hey fear Thee with the sun, and before the moon, Generation -- generations.

May all the children-to-come fear You as long as the sun and the moon last.

6 H e cometh down as rain on mown grass, As showers -- sprinkling the earth.

May He come down like rain upon the cut grass, like rain that waters the earth.

7 F lourish in his days doth the righteous, And abundance of peace till the moon is not.

In His days may all go well with those who are right and good. And may there be much peace until the moon is no more.

8 A nd he ruleth from sea unto sea, And from the river unto the ends of earth.

May he also rule from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth.

9 B efore him bow do the inhabitants of the dry places, And his enemies lick the dust.

Those who live in the desert will put their faces to the ground before Him. And those who hate Him will kiss the dust.

10 K ings of Tarshish and of the isles send back a present. Kings of Sheba and Seba a reward bring near.

Let the kings of Tarshish and of the islands bring gifts. Let the kings of Sheba and Seba bring gifts.

11 A nd all kings do bow themselves to him, All nations do serve him,

Yes, let all kings fall down at His feet, and all nations serve Him.

12 F or he delivereth the needy who crieth, And the poor when he hath no helper,

For He will take out of trouble the one in need when he cries for help, and the poor man who has no one to help.

13 H e hath pity on the poor and needy, And the souls of the needy he saveth,

He will have loving-pity on the weak and those in need. He will save the lives of those in need.

14 F rom fraud and from violence he redeemeth their soul, And precious is their blood in his eyes.

He will take them from the bad power that is held over them and from being hurt. Their blood will be of much worth in His eyes.

15 A nd he liveth, and giveth to him of the gold of Sheba, And prayeth for him continually, All the day he doth bless him.

He will live, and the gold of Sheba will be given to Him. Prayer will be given for Him all the time. Let them honor Him all day long.

16 T here is a handful of corn in the earth, On the top of mountains, Shake like Lebanon doth its fruit, And they flourish out of the city as the herb of the earth.

May there be much grain in the land on top of the mountains. May its fruit grow like the trees of Lebanon. And may those of the city grow like the grass of the earth.

17 H is name is to the age, Before the sun is his name continued, And they bless themselves in him, All nations do pronounce him happy.

May His name last forever. May His name become bigger as long as the sun shines. And let men respect themselves through Him. Let all nations honor Him.

18 B lessed is Jehovah God, God of Israel, He alone is doing wonders,

Honor and thanks be to the Lord God, the God of Israel, Who alone does great things.

19 A nd blessed the Name of His honour to the age, And the whole earth is filled His honour. Amen, and amen!

And honor be to His great name forever. May the whole earth be filled with His shining-greatness. Let it be so.
