Revelation 10 ~ Revelation 10

picture

1 A nd I saw another strong messenger coming down out of the heaven, arrayed with a cloud, and a rainbow upon the head, and his face as the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire,

Then I saw another strong angel coming down from heaven covered with a cloud. He had many colors around his head. His face was like the sun. His feet were like long flames of fire.

2 a nd he had in his hand a little scroll opened, and he did place his right foot upon the sea, and the left upon the land,

He had in his hand a little book that was open. The angel put his right foot on the sea. He put his left foot on the land.

3 a nd he cried with a great voice, as a lion doth roar, and when he cried, speak out did the seven thunders their voices;

He cried with a loud voice like the sound of a lion. The seven thunders sounded.

4 a nd when the seven thunders spake their voices, I was about to write, and I heard a voice out of the heaven saying to me, `Seal the things that the seven thunders spake,' and, `Thou mayest not write these things.'

I was ready to write when the seven thunders had spoken. Then I heard the voice from heaven saying, “Lock up the things which the seven thunders have spoken. Do not write them!”

5 A nd the messenger whom I saw standing upon the sea, and upon the land, did lift up his hand to the heaven,

Then the strong angel that I saw standing on the sea and on the land lifted his right hand to heaven.

6 a nd did swear in Him who doth live to the ages of the ages, who did create the heaven and the things in it, and the land and the things in it, and the sea and the things in it -- that time shall not be yet,

He made a promise in the name of God Who lives forever, Who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them. He promised that there will be no more waiting.

7 b ut in the days of the voice of the seventh messenger, when he may be about to sound, and the secret of God may be finished, as He did declare to His own servants, to the prophets.

And when the seventh angel blows his horn, God will put His secret plan into action. It will be done just as He told it to the early preachers, His servants.

8 A nd the voice that I heard out of the heaven is again speaking with me, and saying, `Go, take the little scroll that is open in the hand of the messenger who hath been standing upon the sea, and upon the land:'

Then the voice I heard from heaven spoke to me again. It said, “Go and take the little book that is open. It is in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.”

9 a nd I went away unto the messenger, saying to him, `Give me the little scroll;' and he saith to me, `Take, and eat it up, and it shall make thy belly bitter, but in thy mouth it shall be sweet -- as honey.'

I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little book. He said, “Take it and eat it. It will taste like honey in your mouth. But after you have eaten it, it will make your stomach sour.”

10 A nd I took the little scroll out of the hand of the messenger, and did eat it up, and it was in my mouth as honey -- sweet, and when I did eat it -- my belly was made bitter;

Then I took it from the angel’s hand and ate it. It was sweet as honey in my mouth, but it made my stomach sour after I had eaten it.

11 a nd he saith to me, `It behoveth thee again to prophesy about peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings -- many.'

Then they said to me, “You must tell what will happen again in front of many people and nations and families and kings.”
