1 B y Solomon. O God, Thy judgments to the king give, And Thy righteousness to the king's son.
God, give the king your justice; your righteousness to the royal son.
2 H e judgeth Thy people with righteousness, And Thy poor with judgment.
He will judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice.
3 T he mountains bear peace to the people, And the heights by righteousness.
The mountains shall bring prosperity to the people. The hills bring the fruit of righteousness.
4 H e judgeth the poor of the people, Giveth deliverance to the sons of the needy, And bruiseth the oppressor.
He will judge the poor of the people. He will save the children of the needy, and will break the oppressor in pieces.
5 T hey fear Thee with the sun, and before the moon, Generation -- generations.
They shall fear you while the sun endures; and as long as the moon, throughout all generations.
6 H e cometh down as rain on mown grass, As showers -- sprinkling the earth.
He will come down like rain on the mown grass, as showers that water the earth.
7 F lourish in his days doth the righteous, And abundance of peace till the moon is not.
In his days, the righteous shall flourish, and abundance of peace, until the moon is no more.
8 A nd he ruleth from sea unto sea, And from the river unto the ends of earth.
He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, from the River to the ends of the earth.
9 B efore him bow do the inhabitants of the dry places, And his enemies lick the dust.
Those who dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him. His enemies shall lick the dust.
10 K ings of Tarshish and of the isles send back a present. Kings of Sheba and Seba a reward bring near.
The kings of Tarshish and of the islands will bring tribute. The kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
11 A nd all kings do bow themselves to him, All nations do serve him,
Yes, all kings shall fall down before him. All nations shall serve him.
12 F or he delivereth the needy who crieth, And the poor when he hath no helper,
For he will deliver the needy when he cries; the poor, who has no helper.
13 H e hath pity on the poor and needy, And the souls of the needy he saveth,
He will have pity on the poor and needy. He will save the souls of the needy.
14 F rom fraud and from violence he redeemeth their soul, And precious is their blood in his eyes.
He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence. Their blood will be precious in his sight.
15 A nd he liveth, and giveth to him of the gold of Sheba, And prayeth for him continually, All the day he doth bless him.
They shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba. Men shall pray for him continually. They shall bless him all day long.
16 T here is a handful of corn in the earth, On the top of mountains, Shake like Lebanon doth its fruit, And they flourish out of the city as the herb of the earth.
Abundance of grain shall be throughout the land. Its fruit sways like Lebanon. Let it flourish, thriving like the grass of the field.
17 H is name is to the age, Before the sun is his name continued, And they bless themselves in him, All nations do pronounce him happy.
His name endures forever. His name continues as long as the sun. Men shall be blessed by him. All nations will call him blessed.
18 B lessed is Jehovah God, God of Israel, He alone is doing wonders,
Praise be to Yahweh God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds.
19 A nd blessed the Name of His honour to the age, And the whole earth is filled His honour. Amen, and amen!
Blessed be his glorious name forever! Let the whole earth be filled with his glory! Amen and amen.
