آدَمُ أبُو شِيثَ أبُو أنُوشَ

2 K enan, Mahalalel, Jared,

أبُو قِينانَ أبُو مَهلَلْئِيلَ أبُو يارِدَ

3 E noch, Methuselah, Lamech,

أبُو أخنُوخَ أبُو مَتُوشالَحَ أبُو لامَكَ

4 N oah, Shem, Ham and Japheth.

أبُو نُوحَ أبُو سامَ وَحامَ وَيافَثَ. أبْناءُ يافَث

5 T he sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech and Tiras.

أبْناءُ يافَثَ هُمْ جُومَرُ وَماجُوجُ وَمادايُ وَياوانُ وَتُوبالُ وَماشِكُ وَتِيراسُ.

6 T he sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, Diphath, and Togarmah.

وَأبْناءُ جُومَرَ هُمْ أشْكَنازُ وَرِيفاثُ وَتُوجَرْمَةُ.

7 T he sons of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim and Rodanim.

وَأبْناءُ ياوانَ هُمْ ألِيشَةُ وَتَرْشِيشَةُ وَكِتِّيمُ وَدُودانِيمُ. أبْناءُ حام

8 T he sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

أبْناءُ حامَ هُمْ كُوشُ وَمِصْرايِمُ وَفُوطُ وَكَنْعانُ.

9 T he sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raama and Sabteca; and the sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.

أبْناءُ كُوشَ هُمْ سَبَأُ وَحَوِيلَةُ وَسَبْتا وَرَعَما وَسَبْتَكا. وَابْنا رَعَما: شَبا وَددانُ.

10 C ush became the father of Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one in the earth.

وَأنْجَبَ كُوشُ نِمْرُودَ. وَكانَ نِمْرُودُ أوَّلَ مُحارِبٍ جَبَّارٍ عَلَى الأرْضِ.

11 M izraim became the father of the people of Lud, Anam, Lehab, Naphtuh,

وَأنجَبَ مِصْرايِمُ بَنِي لُودَ وَبَنِي عَنامَ وَبَنِي لَهابَ وَبَنِي نَفْتُوحَ

12 P athrus, Casluh, from which the Philistines came, and Caphtor.

وَبَنِي فَتْرُوسَ وَبَنِي كَسلُوحَ، الَّذِينَ خَرَجَ مِنْهُمُ الفِلِسْطِيُّونَ وَالكَفْتُورَيُّونَ.

13 C anaan became the father of Sidon, his firstborn, Heth,

وَأنجَبَ كَنْعانُ ابْنَهُ البِكْرَ صَيدُونَ. وَهُوَ أبُو الحِثِّيِّينَ

14 a nd the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites,

وَاليَبُوسِيِّينَ وَالأمُورِيِّينَ وَالجِرْجاشِيِّينَ

15 t he Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites,

وَالحِوِّيِّينَ وَالعَرْقِيِّينَ وَالسِّينِيِّينَ

16 t he Arvadites, the Zemarites and the Hamathites.

وَالأرْوادِيِّينَ وَالصَّمّارِيِّينَ وَالحَماثِيِّينَ. أبْناءُ سام

17 T he sons of Shem were Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, Aram, Uz, Hul, Gether and Meshech.

أبْناءُ سامَ هُمْ عِيلامُ وَأشُّورُ وَأرْفَكْشادُ وَلُودُ وَأَرامُ وَعُوصُ وَحُولُ وَجاثَرُ وَماشِكُ.

18 A rpachshad became the father of Shelah and Shelah became the father of Eber.

وَأنجَبَ أرفَكْشادُ شالَحَ، وَأنْجَبَ شالَحُ عابِرَ.

19 T wo sons were born to Eber, the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided, and his brother’s name was Joktan.

وَوُلِدَ لِعابِرَ ابْنانِ، اسْمُ الأوَّلِ فالَجُ لِأنَّ الأرْضَ قُسِمَتْ فِي أيّامِهِ، وَاسْمُ أخيهِ يَقْطانُ.

20 J oktan became the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,

وَأنجَبَ يَقْطانُ ألمُودادَ وَشالَفَ وَحَضْرَمَوْتَ وَيارَحَ

21 H adoram, Uzal, Diklah,

وَهَدُورامَ وَأُوزالَ وَدِقلَةَ

22 E bal, Abimael, Sheba,

وَعِيبالَ وَأبِيمايِلَ وَشَبا

23 O phir, Havilah and Jobab; all these were the sons of Joktan.

وَأُوفِيرَ وَحَوِيلَةَ وَيُوبابَ. كانَ هَؤُلاءِ كُلُّهُمْ نَسلَ يَقْطانَ.

24 S hem, Arpachshad, Shelah,

سامُ، أرْفَكْشادُ، شالَحُ،

25 E ber, Peleg, Reu,

عابِرُ، فالَجُ، رَعُو،

26 S erug, Nahor, Terah,

سَرُوجُ، ناحُورُ، تارَحُ،

27 A bram, that is Abraham. Descendants of Abraham

ثُمَّ أبْرامُ – أي إبْراهِيمُ. عائِلَةُ إبْراهِيم

28 T he sons of Abraham were Isaac and Ishmael.

ابْنا إبْراهِيمَ: إسْحاقُ وَإسْماعِيلُ. نَسلُ هاجَر

29 T hese are their genealogies: the firstborn of Ishmael was Nebaioth, then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

وَهَؤُلاءِ هُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُمْ: نَبايُوتُ، وَهُوَ بِكْرُ إسْماعِيلَ، ثُمَّ قِيدارُ وَأدَبْئِيلُ وَمِبْسامُ

30 M ishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema,

وَمِشْماعُ وَدُومَةُ وَمَسّا وَحَدَدُ وَتَيْماءُ

31 J etur, Naphish and Kedemah; these were the sons of Ishmael.

وَيَطُورُ وَنافِيشُ وَقِدْمَةُ. هَؤُلاءِ هُمْ أبْناءُ إسْماعِيلَ. نَسلُ قَطُورَة

32 T he sons of Keturah, Abraham’s concubine, whom she bore, were Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak and Shuah. And the sons of Jokshan were Sheba and Dedan.

وَأنْجَبَتْ قَطُورَةُ جارِيَةُ إبْراهِيمَ زِمْرانَ وَيَقْشانَ وَمَدانَ وَمِدْيانَ وَيِشْباقَ وَشُوحاً. وَابْنا يَقْشانَ هُما شَبا وَدَدانُ.

33 T he sons of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida and Eldaah. All these were the sons of Keturah.

وَأولادُ مِدْيانَ هُمْ عِيفَةُ وَعِفْرُ وَحَنَوْكُ وَأبِيداعُ وَألْدَعَةُ. هَؤُلاءِ هُمْ نَسلُ قَطُورَةَ. نَسلُ سارَة

34 A braham became the father of Isaac. The sons of Isaac were Esau and Israel.

أنجَبَ إيراهِيمُ إسْحاقَ. وَابْنا إسْحاقَ: عِيسُو وَإسْرائِيلُ. أبْناءُ عِيسُو

35 T he sons of Esau were Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam and Korah.

أبْناءُ عِيسُو هُمْ ألِيفازُ وَرَعُوئِيلُ وَيَعُوشُ وَيَعلامُ وَقُورَحُ.

36 T he sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zephi, Gatam, Kenaz, Timna and Amalek.

وَأبْناءُ ألِيفازَ هُمْ تَيْمانُ وَأُومارُ وَصَفِي وَجَعْثامُ وَقِنازُ وَتِمْناعُ وَعَمالِيقُ.

37 T he sons of Reuel were Nahath, Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah.

وَأبْناءُ رَعُوئِيلَ هُمْ نَحْثٌ وَزارَحُ وَشَمَّةُ وَمِزَّةُ. سُكّانُ أدُوم

38 T he sons of Seir were Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer and Dishan.

أبْناءُ سَعِيرَ هُمْ لُوطانُ وَشُوبالُ وَصِبْعُونُ وَعَنَى وَدِيشُونُ وَإيصَرُ وَدِيشانُ.

39 T he sons of Lotan were Hori and Homam; and Lotan’s sister was Timna.

وَابْنَا لُوطانَ هُما حُورِيُّ وَهُومامُ. وَأُختُ لُوطانَ تِمْناعُ.

40 T he sons of Shobal were Alian, Manahath, Ebal, Shephi and Onam. And the sons of Zibeon were Aiah and Anah.

أبْناءُ شُوبالَ هُمْ عَلْيانُ وَمَناحَةُ وَعِيبالُ وَشَفِي وَأُونامُ. وَابْنا صِبْعُونَ هُما أيَّةُ وَعَنَى.

41 T he son of Anah was Dishon. And the sons of Dishon were Hamran, Eshban, Ithran and Cheran.

وَابْنُ عَنَى: دِيشُونُ. وَأبْناءُ دِيشُونَ هُمْ حَمْرانُ وَأشْبانُ وَيِثْرانُ وَكَرانُ.

42 T he sons of Ezer were Bilhan, Zaavan and Jaakan. The sons of Dishan were Uz and Aran.

وَأبْناءُ إيصَرَ هُمْ بِلْهانُ وَزَعْوانُ وَيَعْقانُ. وَابْنا دِيشانَ هُما عُوصُ وَأرانُ. مُلُوكُ أدُوم

43 N ow these are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king of the sons of Israel reigned. Bela was the son of Beor, and the name of his city was Dinhabah.

هَذِهِ أسْماءُ المُلُوكِ الَّذِينَ حَكَمُوا فِي أرْضِ أدُومَ قَبلَ أنْ يَملُكَ أحَدٌ عَلَى بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ: بالِعُ بْنُ بَعُورَ الَّذِي كانَتْ مَدِينَتُهُ تُدعى دِنْهابَةُ.

44 W hen Bela died, Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah became king in his place.

وَماتَ بالِعُ، فَخَلَفَهُ يُوبابُ بْنُ زارَحَ مِنْ بُصْرَةَ.

45 W hen Jobab died, Husham of the land of the Temanites became king in his place.

وَماتَ يُوبابُ، فَخَلَفَهُ حُوشامُ الَّذِي مِنْ أرْضِ التَّيمانِيِّينَ.

46 W hen Husham died, Hadad the son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the field of Moab, became king in his place; and the name of his city was Avith.

وَماتَ حُوشامُ، فَخَلَفَهُ هَدَدُ بْنُ بَدَدَ الَّذِي هَزَمَ مِدْيانَ فِي بِلادِ مُوآبَ، وَكانَتْ مَدِينَتُهُ تُدْعَى عَوِيتُ.

47 W hen Hadad died, Samlah of Masrekah became king in his place.

وَماتَ هَدَدُ، فَخَلَفَهُ سِملَةُ مِنْ مَسْرِيقَةَ.

48 W hen Samlah died, Shaul of Rehoboth by the River became king in his place.

وَماتَ سِملَةُ، فَخَلَفَهُ شاوُلُ مِنْ رَحُوبُوتَ قُرْبَ نَهْرِ الفُراتِ.

49 W hen Shaul died, Baal-hanan the son of Achbor became king in his place.

وَماتَ شَاوُلُ، فَخَلَفَهُ بَعلُ حانانَ بْنُ عَكْبُورَ.

50 W hen Baal-hanan died, Hadad became king in his place; and the name of his city was Pai, and his wife’s name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.

وَماتَ بَعلُ حانانَ، فَخَلَفَهُ هَدَدُ، وَكانَتْ مَدِينَتُهُ تُدعَى فاعِي، وَكانَ اسْمُ زَوجَتِهِ مَهِيطَبْئِيلَ بِنتَ مَطْرِدَ، بِنتَ ماءِ الذَّهَبِ.

51 T hen Hadad died. Now the chiefs of Edom were: chief Timna, chief Aliah, chief Jetheth,

وَماتَ هَدَدُ. أمّا قَبائِلُ أدُومَ فَهِيَ تِمْناعُ وَعَلْوَةُ وَيَتِيتُ

52 c hief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon,

وَأهُولِيبامَةُ وَأيلَةُ وَفِينُونُ

53 c hief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar,

وَقِنازُ وَتَيمانُ وَمِبْصارُ

54 c hief Magdiel, chief Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom.

وَمَجْدِيئِيلُ وَعِيرامُ. هَذِهِ هِيَ قَبائِلُ أدُومَ.
