1 N ow Joshua was old and advanced in years when the Lord said to him, “You are old and advanced in years, and very much of the land remains to be possessed.

وَكَبِرَ يَشُوعُ فِي السِّنِّ، فَقالَ اللهُ لَهُ: «قَدْ صِرْتَ كَبِيراً جِدّاً فِي السِّنِّ، وَما تَزالُ هُناكَ أرْضٌ كَبِيرَةٌ لِلامتِلاكِ.

2 T his is the land that remains: all the regions of the Philistines and all those of the Geshurites;

هَذِهِ هِيَ الأرْضُ الَّتِي بَقِيَتْ: جَمِيعُ مَناطِقِ الفِلِسطِيِّينَ وَمَناطِقِ الجَشُورِيِّينَ،

3 f rom the Shihor which is east of Egypt, even as far as the border of Ekron to the north (it is counted as Canaanite); the five lords of the Philistines: the Gazite, the Ashdodite, the Ashkelonite, the Gittite, the Ekronite; and the Avvite

مِنْ نَهْرِ شِيحُورَ شَرقِيَّ مِصْرَ إلَى حُدُودِ عَقْرُونَ فِي الشَّمالِ. وَهَذِهِ تُعْتَبَرُ أرْضَ الكَنْعانِيِّينَ، وَأرْضَ حُكّامِ الفِلِسْطِيِّينَ الخَمسَةِ الَّذِينَ فِي غَزَّةَ وَأشْدُودَ وَأشْقَلُونَ وَجَتَّ وَعَقْرُونَ. وَكَذَلِكَ مِنْطَقَةِ العَوِّيِّينَ،

4 t o the south, all the land of the Canaanite, and Mearah that belongs to the Sidonians, as far as Aphek, to the border of the Amorite;

فِي الجَنُوبِ، وَأرْضَ الكَنعانِيِّينَ وَمُغارَةَ الَّتِي لِلصَّيدُونِيِّينَ حَتَّى أفِيقَ، إلَى حُدُودِ الأمُورِيِّينَ،

5 a nd the land of the Gebalite, and all of Lebanon, toward the east, from Baal-gad below Mount Hermon as far as Lebo-hamath.

وَأرْضَ الجِبلِيِّينَ، وَكُلَّ لُبنانَ نَحْوَ الشَّرقِ مِنْ بَعلِ جادَ أسفَلَ جَبَلِ حَرْمُونَ إلَى لِيبُو حَماةَ.

6 A ll the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon as far as Misrephoth-maim, all the Sidonians, I will drive them out from before the sons of Israel; only allot it to Israel for an inheritance as I have commanded you.

«أمَّا الصَّيدُونِيُّونَ السّاكِنُونَ فِي المِنطَقَةِ الجَبَلِيَّةِ مِنْ لُبْنانَ إلَى مِسْرَفُوتَ مايِمَ، فَإنِّي سَأطرُدُهُمْ مِنْ أمامِ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ. لَكِنْ عَلَيكَ أنْ تُقَسِّمَ الأرْضَ لِبَنِي إسْرائِيلَ مُلكاً لَهُمْ كَما أمَرْتُكَ.

7 N ow therefore, apportion this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes and the half-tribe of Manasseh.”

وَالآنَ، قَسِّمْ هَذِهِ الأرْضَ مُلْكاً بَينَ القَبائِلِ التِّسعِ وَنِصْفِ قَبِيلَةِ مَنَسَّى.» تَقسِيمُ الأرْض

8 W ith the other half-tribe, the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance which Moses gave them beyond the Jordan to the east, just as Moses the servant of the Lord gave to them;

نالَ نِصْفُ قَبِيلَةِ مَنَسَّى وَالرَأُوبَيْنِيُّونَ وَالجادِيُّونَ مِيراثَهُمُ الَّذِي أعطاهُ مُوسَى لَهُمْ عَلَى الجِهَةِ الشَّرقِيَّةِ مِنْ نَهرِ الأُردُنِّ، كَما أعطاهُمْ مُوسَى خادِمُ اللهِ.

9 f rom Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, with the city which is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain of Medeba, as far as Dibon;

مِنْ عَرُوعِيرَ الَّتِي عَلَى حافَّةِ وادِي أرنُونَ، وَالمَدِينَةِ الَّتِي فِي وَسَطِ الوادِي وَكُلِّ هَضَبَةِ مِيدَبا إلَى دِيبُونَ،

10 a nd all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, as far as the border of the sons of Ammon;

وَكُلِّ مُدُنِ سِيحُونَ مَلِكِ الأمُورِيِّينَ الَّذِي حَكَمَ فِي حَشْبُونَ إلَى حُدُودِ أرْضِ العَمُّونِيِّينَ،

11 a nd Gilead, and the territory of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan as far as Salecah;

وَجِلعادَ وَأرْضِ الجَشُورِيِّينَ وَالمَعْكِيِّينَ، وَكُلِّ جَبَلِ حَرْمُونَ وَكُلِّ باشانَ إلَى سَلْخَةَ،

12 a ll the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei (he alone was left of the remnant of the Rephaim); for Moses struck them and dispossessed them.

أي كُلِّ مَملَكَةِ عُوجَ فِي باشانَ الَّذِي حَكَمَ فِي عَشْتارُوثَ وَإذْرِعِي، وَهوَ مِنْ آخِرِ مَنْ بَقِيَ مِنَ الرَّفائِيِّينَ. فَقَدْ هَزَمَهُمْ مُوسَى وَأخَذَ أرْضَهُمْ.

13 B ut the sons of Israel did not dispossess the Geshurites or the Maacathites; for Geshur and Maacath live among Israel until this day.

وَلَكِنَّ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ لَمْ يَطرُدُوا الجَشُورِيِّينَ وَالمَعْكِيِّينَ، فِسَكَنَ الجَشُورِيُّونَ وَالمَعْكِيُّونَ فِي وَسَطِ إسْرائِيلَ إلَى هَذا اليَومِ.

14 O nly to the tribe of Levi he did not give an inheritance; the offerings by fire to the Lord, the God of Israel, are their inheritance, as He spoke to him.

لَكِنْ لَمْ يُعطِ مُوسَى مِيراثاً لِعَشِيرَةِ لاوِي، فَتَقدِماتُ اللهِ ، إلَهِ إسْرائِيلَ، هِيَ مِيراثُهُمْ كَما وَعَدَهُمْ.

15 S o Moses gave an inheritance to the tribe of the sons of Reuben according to their families.

وَأعطَى مُوسَى الأرْضَ لِعَشِيرَةِ الرَأُوبَيْنِيِّينَ بِحَسَبِ عَشائِرِهِمْ

16 T heir territory was from Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, with the city which is in the middle of the valley and all the plain by Medeba;

وَكانَتْ أرْضُهُمْ مِنْ عَرُوعِيرَ الَّتِي عَلَى حافَّةِ وادِي أرنُونَ، وَالمَدِينَةِ الَّتِي فِي وَسَطِ الوادِي، وَكُلِّ هَضَبَةِ مِيدَبا،

17 H eshbon, and all its cities which are on the plain: Dibon and Bamoth-baal and Beth-baal-meon,

مَعَ حَشْبُونَ وَكُلِّ قُراها الَّتِي عَلَى الهَضَبَةِ وَدِيبُونَ وَبامُوتَ بَعلٍ وَبَيتَ بَعلِ مَعُونَ،

18 a nd Jahaz and Kedemoth and Mephaath,

وَياهَصَ وَقَدِيمُوتَ وَمَيفَعَةَ،

19 a nd Kiriathaim and Sibmah and Zereth-shahar on the hill of the valley,

وَقَرْيَتايِمَ وَسِبْمَةَ وَصارَثَ شَحْرَ عَلَى تَلَّةِ الوادِي،

20 a nd Beth-peor and the slopes of Pisgah and Beth-jeshimoth,

وَبَيتِ فَغُورَ وَمُنحَدَراتِ الفِسْجَةِ وَبَيتِ يَشِيمُوتَ.

21 e ven all the cities of the plain and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses struck with the chiefs of Midian, Evi and Rekem and Zur and Hur and Reba, the princes of Sihon, who lived in the land.

أي كُلِّ مُدُنِ الهَضَبَةِ وَمَملَكَةِ المَلِكِ سِيحُونَ مَلِكِ الأمُورِيَّينَ الَّذِي حَكَمَ فِي حَشْبُونَ، الَّذِي هَزَمَهُ مُوسَى مَعَ قادَةِ مِدْيانَ: أُوِي وَراقَمَ وَصُورَ وَحُورَ وَرابِعَ، رُؤَساءِ سِيحُونَ الَّذِينَ سَكَنُوا فِي تِلكَ الأرْضِ.

22 T he sons of Israel also killed Balaam the son of Beor, the diviner, with the sword among the rest of their slain.

وَمِنْ بَينْ الَّذِينَ قَتَلَهُمْ بَنُو إسْرائِيلَ، العَرّافُ بَلعامَ بْنُ بَعُورَ.

23 T he border of the sons of Reuben was the Jordan. This was the inheritance of the sons of Reuben according to their families, the cities and their villages.

وَكانَ نَهْرُ الأُردُنِّ وَضِفافُهُ حَدَّ أرْضِ الرَأُوبَيْنِيِّينَ الغَرْبِيَّ. هَذا هوَ مِيراثُ الرَأُوبَيْنِيِّينَ بِحَسَبِ عَشائِرِهِمْ، المُدُنُ وَقُراها.

24 M oses also gave an inheritance to the tribe of Gad, to the sons of Gad, according to their families.

وَأعطَى مُوسَى الأرْضَ لِلجادِيِّينَ أيضاً بِحَسَبِ عَشائِرِهِمْ.

25 T heir territory was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the sons of Ammon, as far as Aroer which is before Rabbah;

وَكانَتْ أرْضُهُمْ يَعْزِيرَ وَكُلَّ مُدُنِ جِلْعادَ وَنِصْفَ أرْضِ العَمُّونِيِّينَ إلَى عَرُوعِيرَ الواقِعَةِ إلَى الشَّرقِ مِنْ رِبَّةَ،

26 a nd from Heshbon as far as Ramath-mizpeh and Betonim, and from Mahanaim as far as the border of Debir;

وَمِنْ حَشْبُونَ إلَى رامَةِ المِصْفاةِ وَبُطُونِيمَ، وَمِنْ مَحَنايِمَ إلَى حَدِّ دَبِيرَ.

27 a nd in the valley, Beth-haram and Beth-nimrah and Succoth and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, with the Jordan as a border, as far as the lower end of the Sea of Chinnereth beyond the Jordan to the east.

وَفِي الوادِي بَيتَ هارامَ وَبَيتَ نِمْرَةَ وَسُكُّوتَ وَصافُونَ، أي بَقِيَّةَ مَملَكَةِ سِيحُونَ مَلِكِ حَشْبُونَ، الِّتِي يَحُدُّها نَهْرُ الأُردُنِّ وَضِفافُهُ إلَى حافَّةِ بُحَيرَةِ الجَلِيلِ، شَرقِيَّ نَهْرِ الأُردُنِّ.

28 T his is the inheritance of the sons of Gad according to their families, the cities and their villages.

هَذا هوَ مِيراثُ الجادِيِّينَ بِعَشائِرِهِمْ وَمُدُنِهِمْ وَقُراهُمِ.

29 M oses also gave an inheritance to the half-tribe of Manasseh; and it was for the half-tribe of the sons of Manasseh according to their families.

وَأعطَى مُوسَى الأرْضَ لِنِصْفِ قَبِيلَةِ مَنَسَّى، فَوُزِّعَتِ الحِصَصُ بِحَسَبِ عَشائِرِهِمْ.

30 T heir territory was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty cities;

وَكانَتْ أرْضُهُمْ تَمْتَدُّ مِنْ مَحَنايِمَ، وَتَشْمَلُ كُلَّ مَملَكَةِ المَلِكِ عُوجَ مَلِكِ باشانَ وَكُلَّ مَساكِنِ يائِيرَ فِي باشانَ، وَعَدَدُها سِتُّونَ مَدِينَةً.

31 a lso half of Gilead, with Ashtaroth and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were for the sons of Machir the son of Manasseh, for half of the sons of Machir according to their families.

وَكَذَلِكَ نِصْفَ جِلعادَ وَعَشْتارُوثَ وَإذْرَعِي مُدُنَ مَملَكَةِ عُوجَ فِي باشانَ. أعطيت كُلُّ هَذِهِ الأرْضُ لِنِصْفِ قَبِيلَةِ مَنَسَّى، لِبَنِي ماكِيرَ بْنِ مَنَسَّى بِحَسَبِ عَشائِرِهِمْ.

32 T hese are the territories which Moses apportioned for an inheritance in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan at Jericho to the east.

هَذِهِ هِيَ الأرْضُ، الَّتِي أعطاها مُوسَى مُلكاً، فِي سُهُولِ مُوآبَ إلَى الشَّرقِ مِنْ نَهْرِ الأُردُنِّ مُقابِلَ أرِيحا.

33 B ut to the tribe of Levi, Moses did not give an inheritance; the Lord, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, as He had promised to them.

لَكِنَّ مُوسَى لَمْ يُعطِ مِيراثاً لِعَشِيرَةِ لاوِي، فَاللهُ ، إلَهُ إسْرائِيلَ، هوَ مِيراثُهُمْ كَما وَعَدَهُمْ.
