1 T herefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession;

فَيا أيُّها الإخوَةُ المُقَدَّسُونَ الَّذِينَ اشْتَرَكْتُمْ جَمِيعاً بِدَعوَةِ اللهِ لَكُمْ، تَأمَّلُوا يَسُوعَ الَّذِي أرسَلَهُ اللهُ لِيَكُونَ رَئِيسَ كَهَنَةٍ لِلإيمانِ الَّذِي نَعتَرِفُ بِهِ.

2 H e was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was in all His house.

فَقَدْ كانَ أمِيناً للهِ الَّذِي عَيَّنَهُ، كَما كانَ مُوسَى أمِيناً فِي خِدمَةِ كُلِّ بَيتِ اللهِ.

3 F or He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by just so much as the builder of the house has more honor than the house.

أمّا يَسُوعُ فَقَدْ وُجِدَ أكثَرَ استِحقاقاً لِلكَرامَةِ مِنْ مُوسَى، حَيْثُ إنَّ بانِيَ البَيتِ لَهُ كَرامَةٌ أكثَرَ مِنَ البَيتِ نَفسِهِ.

4 F or every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.

فَكُلُّ البُيوتِ يَبْنيها البَشَرُ، لَكِنَّ اللهَ بَنَى كُلَّ شَيءٍ.

5 N ow Moses was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken later;

وَمُوسَى كانَ أمِيناً فِي الاهتِمامِ بِأهلِ بَيتِ اللهِ باعْتِبارِهِ خادِماً. وَقَدْ شَهِدَ عنْ ما سَيَقُولُهُ اللهُ مُستَقبَلاً.

6 b ut Christ was faithful as a Son over His house— whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope firm until the end.

أمّا المَسِيحُ فَأمِينٌ باعْتِبارِهِ ابْناً مَسؤُولاً عَنْ بَيتِ اللهِ. وَنَحنُ أهلُ بَيتِ اللهِ، إنْ تَمَسَّكْنا بِالجُرأةِ وَالافتِخارِ فِي الرَّجاءِ الَّذِي عِندَنا. الثَّباتُ في الإيمان

7 T herefore, just as the Holy Spirit says, “ Today if you hear His voice,

لِهَذا يَقُولُ الرُّوحُ القُدُسُ: «اليَومَ، إنْ سَمِعْتُمْ صَوتَ اللهِ،

8 D o not harden your hearts as when they provoked Me, As in the day of trial in the wilderness,

لا تُقَسُّوا قُلوبَكُمْ كَما حَدَثَ في الماضي، يَومَ تَمَرَّدْتُمْ، يَومَ جَرَّبَهُ شَعبُهُ فِي البَرِّيَّةِ.

9 W here your fathers tried Me by testing Me, And saw My works for forty years.

هُناكَ امتَحَنَنِي آباؤُكُمْ وَجَرَّبُونِي، مَعَ أنَّهُمْ رَأَوْا أعمالِيَ العَظِيمَةَ أربَعِيْنَ عاماً!

10 “ Therefore I was angry with this generation, And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, And they did not know My ways ’;

لِذَلِكَ غَضِبتُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الجَيلِ وَقُلتُ: إنَّ أفكارَهُمْ تَضِلُّ دائِماً عَنِ الصَّوابِ، لَمْ يَعرِفوا طُرُقِي.

11 A s I swore in My wrath, ‘ They shall not enter My rest.’” The Peril of Unbelief

وَلِهَذا أقسَمتُ غاضِباً: لَنْ يَدخُلُوا راحَتِي.›»

12 T ake care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God.

فَاحْتَرِسُوا أيُّها الإخوَةُ مِنْ أنْ يَكُونَ لِأيٍّ مِنكُمْ قَلبٌ شِرِّيرٌ غَيْرُ مُؤمِنٍ يَبتَعِدُ عَنِ اللهِ الحَيِّ،

13 B ut encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “Today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

بَلْ شَجِّعُوا بَعضُكُمْ بَعضاً كُلَّ يَومٍ ما دامَ الوَقتُ يُدعَى «اليَومَ،» لِئَلّا تَحتالَ عَلَيكُمُ الخَطِيَّةُ فَتَتَقَسَّى قُلُوبُكُمْ.

14 F or we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end,

فَنَحنُ جَمِيعاً شُرَكاءٌ مَعَ المَسِيحِ، بِشَرطِ أنْ نَتَمَسَّكَ بِثَباتٍ حَتَّى النِّهايَةِ بِالثِّقَةِ الَّتِي كانَتْ لَدَينا فِي البِدايَةِ.

15 w hile it is said, “ Today if you hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts, as when they provoked Me.”

فَكَما قالَ الكِتابُ: «اليَومَ، إنْ سَمِعْتُمْ صَوتَ اللهِ، لا تُقَسُّوا قُلوبَكُمْ كَما حَدَثَ في الماضي، يَومَ تَمَرَّدْتُمْ.»

16 F or who provoked Him when they had heard? Indeed, did not all those who came out of Egypt led by Moses?

فَمَنْ هُمْ أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ سَمِعُوا صَوتَهُ وَتَمَرَّدوا عَليهِ؟ ألَيسُوا هُمُ الَّذِينَ أخرَجَهُمْ مُوسَى مِنْ مِصْرَ؟

17 A nd with whom was He angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

وَمِمَّنْ غَضِبَ اللهُ أربَعِينَ عاماً؟ ألِيسَ مِنْ كُلِّ الَّذِينَ أخطَأُوا، فَسَقَطُوا جُثَثاً فِي الْبَرِّيَّةِ؟

18 A nd to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were disobedient?

وَمَنْ هُمُ الَّذِينَ أقْسَمَ اللهُ بِأنْ لا يُدخِلَهُمْ راحَتَهُ المَوعُودَةَ أبَداً؟ ألَيسُوا هُمُ الَّذِيْنَ عَصَوا؟

19 S o we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief.

فَنَحنُ نَرَى أنَّ أُولَئِكَ لَمْ يَقدِرُوا أنْ يَدخُلُوا راحَةَ اللهِ بِسَبَبِ عَدَمِ إيمانِهِمْ.
