Revelation 5 ~ Revelation 5

picture

1 And I saw in the right hand of him that was seated on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.

I saw, in the right hand of him who sat on the throne, a book written inside and outside, sealed shut with seven seals.

2 A nd I saw a strong angel preaching with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book and to loose its seals?

I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the book, and to break its seals?”

3 A nd no one was able not in the heaven nor in the earth neither under the earth to open the book neither to look upon it.

No one in heaven above, or on the earth, or under the earth, was able to open the book, or to look in it.

4 A nd I wept much because no one was found worthy to open the book nor to read it neither to look upon it.

And I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open the book, or to look in it.

5 A nd one of the elders said unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, who has overcome to open the book and to loose its seven seals.

One of the elders said to me, “Don’t weep. Behold, the Lion who is of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome; he who opens the book and its seven seals.”

6 And I saw, and, behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four animals and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

I saw in the middle of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the middle of the elders, a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, having seven horns, and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth.

7 A nd he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that was seated upon the throne.

Then he came, and he took it out of the right hand of him who sat on the throne.

8 A nd when he had taken the book, the four animals and the twenty-four elders fell on their faces before the Lamb, each one of them having harps, and golden vials full of incense, which are the prayers of saints.

Now when he had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

9 A nd they sang a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book and to open its seals, for thou wast slain and hast redeemed us unto God by thy blood, out of every kindred and tongue and people and nation

They sang a new song, saying, “You are worthy to take the book, and to open its seals: for you were killed, and bought us for God with your blood, out of every tribe, language, people, and nation,

10 a nd hast made us unto our God kings and priests, and we shall reign on the earth.

and made us kings and priests to our God, and we will reign on earth.”

11 A nd I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and of the animals and of the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

I saw, and I heard something like a voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousands of ten thousands, and thousands of thousands;

12 s aying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to take power and riches and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and blessing.

saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who has been killed to receive the power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing!”

13 A nd I heard every creature which is in heaven and upon the earth and under the earth and such as are upon the sea and all that are in it, saying, Blessing and honour and glory and power, be unto him that is seated upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

I heard every created thing which is in heaven, on the earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion, forever and ever! Amen!”

14 A nd the four animals said, Amen. And the twenty-four elders fell on their faces and worshipped him that lives for ever and ever.

The four living creatures said, “Amen!” The elders fell down and worshiped.
