1 A nd Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh's, the captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hand of the Ishmaelites, that had brought him down thither.

約 瑟 被 帶 下 埃 及 去 。 有 一 個 埃 及 人 ， 是 法 老 的 內 臣 ─ 護 衛 長 波 提 乏 ， 從 那 些 帶 下 他 來 的 以 實 瑪 利 人 手 下 買 了 他 去 。

2 A nd Jehovah was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.

約 瑟 住 在 他 主 人 埃 及 人 的 家 中 ， 耶 和 華 與 他 同 在 ， 他 就 百 事 順 利 。

3 A nd his master saw that Jehovah was with him, and that Jehovah made all that he did to prosper in his hand.

他 主 人 見 耶 和 華 與 他 同 在 ， 又 見 耶 和 華 使 他 手 裡 所 辦 的 盡 都 順 利 ，

4 A nd Joseph found favor in his sight, and he ministered unto him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.

約 瑟 就 在 主 人 眼 前 蒙 恩 ， 伺 候 他 主 人 ， 並 且 主 人 派 他 管 理 家 務 ， 把 一 切 所 有 的 都 交 在 他 手 裡 。

5 A nd it came to pass from the time that he made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that Jehovah blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of Jehovah was upon all that he had, in the house and in the field.

自 從 主 人 派 約 瑟 管 理 家 務 和 他 一 切 所 有 的 ， 耶 和 華 就 因 約 瑟 的 緣 故 賜 福 與 那 埃 及 人 的 家 ； 凡 家 裡 和 田 間 一 切 所 有 的 都 蒙 耶 和 華 賜 福 。

6 A nd he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not aught that was with him, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was comely, and well-favored.

波 提 乏 將 一 切 所 有 的 都 交 在 約 瑟 的 手 中 ， 除 了 自 己 所 吃 的 飯 ， 別 的 事 一 概 不 知 。 約 瑟 原 來 秀 雅 俊 美 。

7 A nd it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.

這 事 以 後 ， 約 瑟 主 人 的 妻 以 目 送 情 給 約 瑟 ， 說 ： 你 與 我 同 寢 罷 ！

8 B ut he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master knoweth not what is with me in the house, and he hath put all that he hath into my hand:

約 瑟 不 從 ， 對 他 主 人 的 妻 說 ： 看 哪 ， 一 切 家 務 ， 我 主 人 都 不 知 道 ； 他 把 所 有 的 都 交 在 我 手 裡 。

9 h e is not greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back anything from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

在 這 家 裡 沒 有 比 我 大 的 ； 並 且 他 沒 有 留 下 一 樣 不 交 給 我 ， 只 留 下 了 你 ， 因 為 你 是 他 的 妻 子 。 我 怎 能 作 這 大 惡 ， 得 罪 神 呢 ？

10 A nd it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.

後 來 他 天 天 和 約 瑟 說 ， 約 瑟 卻 不 聽 從 他 ， 不 與 他 同 寢 ， 也 不 和 他 在 一 處 。

11 A nd it came to pass about this time, that he went into the house to do his work; and there was none of the men of the house there within.

有 一 天 ， 約 瑟 進 屋 裡 去 辦 事 ， 家 中 人 沒 有 一 個 在 那 屋 裡 ，

12 A nd she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.

婦 人 就 拉 住 他 的 衣 裳 ， 說 ： 你 與 我 同 寢 罷 ！ 約 瑟 把 衣 裳 丟 在 婦 人 手 裡 ， 跑 到 外 邊 去 了 。

13 A nd it came to pass, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and was fled forth,

婦 人 看 見 約 瑟 把 衣 裳 丟 在 他 手 裡 跑 出 去 了 ，

14 t hat she called unto the men of her house, and spake unto them, saying, See, he hath brought in a Hebrew unto us to mock us: he came in unto me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice:

就 叫 了 家 裡 的 人 來 ， 對 他 們 說 ： 你 們 看 ！ 他 帶 了 一 個 希 伯 來 人 進 入 我 們 家 裡 ， 要 戲 弄 我 們 。 他 到 我 這 裡 來 ， 要 與 我 同 寢 ， 我 就 大 聲 喊 叫 。

15 a nd it came to pass, when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment by me, and fled, and got him out.

他 聽 見 我 放 聲 喊 起 來 ， 就 把 衣 裳 丟 在 我 這 裡 ， 跑 到 外 邊 去 了 。

16 A nd she laid up his garment by her, until his master came home.

婦 人 把 約 瑟 的 衣 裳 放 在 自 己 那 裡 ， 等 著 他 主 人 回 家 ，

17 A nd she spake unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant, whom thou hast brought unto us, came in unto me to mock me:

就 對 他 如 此 如 此 說 ： 你 所 帶 到 我 們 這 裡 的 那 希 伯 來 僕 人 進 來 要 戲 弄 我 ，

18 a nd it came to pass, as I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment by me, and fled out.

我 放 聲 喊 起 來 ， 他 就 把 衣 裳 丟 在 我 這 裡 ， 跑 出 去 了 。

19 A nd it came to pass, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spake unto him, saying, After this manner did thy servant to me; that his wrath was kindled.

約 瑟 的 主 人 聽 見 他 妻 子 對 他 所 說 的 話 ， 說 ： 你 的 僕 人 如 此 如 此 待 我 ， 他 就 生 氣 ，

20 A nd Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison, the place where the king's prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison.

把 約 瑟 下 在 監 裡 ， 就 是 王 的 囚 犯 被 囚 的 地 方 。 於 是 約 瑟 在 那 裡 坐 監 。

21 B ut Jehovah was with Joseph, and showed kindness unto him, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

但 耶 和 華 與 約 瑟 同 在 ， 向 他 施 恩 ， 使 他 在 司 獄 的 眼 前 蒙 恩 。

22 A nd the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it.

司 獄 就 把 監 裡 所 有 的 囚 犯 都 交 在 約 瑟 手 下 ； 他 們 在 那 裡 所 辦 的 事 都 是 經 他 的 手 。

23 T he keeper of the prison looked not to anything that was under his hand, because Jehovah was with him; and that which he did, Jehovah made it prosper.

凡 在 約 瑟 手 下 的 事 ， 司 獄 一 概 不 察 ， 因 為 耶 和 華 與 約 瑟 同 在 ； 耶 和 華 使 他 所 做 的 盡 都 順 利 。
